1. These people are not protestors who have real ideal. Red Shirts comprise of a few groups led by Thaksin Shinawatra. Some of them are the poor who were addicted to Thaksins system where he bought them with some money through government projects. These people, sadly but true, are poorer, lower educated, and therefore easy to be used and brainwashed by their leaders. They dont care how Thaksin corrupted the country. They wanted him back hoping he will help them get richer.
2. Another group is the ex-communists who lost in time and joining Thanksins group under the same goal to take down the monarchy. They are OK with getting a new Thai state and having Thaksin as the first President.

4. Their plan was to burn Bangkok and some other provinces if they cannot turn the government over. They are terrorists. This is what happens when the poor become poorer & the rich are richer. As long as the poor are kept to feed the massage palors & sex industry or to work as slave labor to produce B 199 clothes for tourists and or to work as servants & drivers in the elite thai's home sadly this will continue. 1. These people are not protestors who have real ideal. Red Shirts comprise of a few groups led by Thaksin Shinawatra. Some of them are the poor who were addicted to Thaksins system where he bought them with some money through government projects. These people, sadly but true, are poorer, lower educated, and therefore easy to be used and brainwashed by their leaders. They dont care how Thaksin corrupted the country. They wanted him back hoping he will help them get richer.

The protesters, as you put it (whereas I'd call them terrorists), are the ones that put tires and obstructions on the road so no fire trucks can access the area in question. And for your record, they had been gathering in front of CTW for months (well, I don't remember how long actually but it *does* feel like months to us Bangkokians) so the road in front and around CTW is full of red shirts tents and their stage. Tell me how would we attempt to put out the fire?
