i wasnt too much older (15 y/o). back then they literally had bombs, not just flames so it resulted in an impact on your body as a spectator. this was outlawed and sophisticated pyro techniques without the audible explosions became the norm. Their tandom moves at that time were much more closer, inchs from each others face (Gene and Paul) which was kinda wierd.

This version of 'Deuce' from the 'Hotter Than Hell' era, and slightly before the release of 'Dressed To Kill' is actually a more 'metallic' and 'raw' version of the song than ended up on 'Alive', which in my opinion was sterile in comparison. It was also during this period when Gene had his best bass sound, utilizing the Gibson 'Grabber' through the Ampeg SVT's. Frehley was on the cutting edge of the time using the newly introduced DiMarzio 'Super Distortions' in his trademark tobacco sunburst!
