Yes sooo true, the Houston club scene was the best back in the day. Lizzard Lounge, Numbers, CPR, Club 6400 I could go on and on. Best times of my life. Pass the LSD please!
Its funny I have been looking for this title for years. I'm from Houston, Frequented Therapy, Numbers, Power Toolz, etc.....Maybe it was only popular in Hou, I live in Berlin now and none of my German friends from that era know what the hell this record is....
Can't even begin to tell you the stories I lived while this song played...Numbers, Starz night club in Louisiana, Phaz II in Beaumont, Club Detour in Houston, Rhinestones in Beaumont, Club F/X in Louisiana...damn...
Red Square?!.......Everyone's talking about Club 6400 and #'s...I see no mention of Sam's Boat ( little lame, but kinda fun sometimes) or Red Square-the one with two dance floors--they usually played...like.. house upstairs and industrial downstairs or something like that. Never got to go inside but drove by several times. It's been gone now for several years and I hate my life for never going inside! jk...(but seriously-I hate my life)
OMG...I miss Houston sooo much!!! Sometimes I wanna go back but I am afraid I will get depressed. I am like 41 so I wonder if I am too old to go back to #s sometime. Funny thing is I never actually did X back then but it was still an awesome euphoric time.
I remember not being old enough to get in the clubs but driving up and down westheimer and richmond, driving thru the club parking lots and listening to live at bayou mommas.
Mercman51, I'm in San Francisco area now. I just found the #'s website. amazing, can't believe it's still alive!... I'll be in Houston in Jan, I'll have to stop by for friday night classic #'s for a little euphoric recall, no more Ecstasy for me.... I have to set an example for my kids now....ha ha
@billwcs either you moved or you don't ever get down to westheimer anymore.#'s is still there and almost exactly the same as it was 30 years ago. at least it was the same about 5 years ago when i was last dragged in there. from what i understand it still is the same.!!lol

Yeah Club A and its resident DJ Wild Bill I have to credit for inspiring me to become a career DJ. 20 yrs and going strong. You might check my 80's club section of my playlist. sure you'll find some things you'll like. cheers
@royalnash Because Houston's DJ's at that time had it going on!!! I have found alot of people In NYC aren't familiar with alot of the music like this, which is very odd to me. So it's my job to push it on them!!!
@royalnash >>>> why all the talk about Houston,Tx.???? the club scene & house parties during the late 80's/early 90's here were insane.........the whole city during that time period was on the same page or should I say "real" spice....... J.
@miggaddymugsy Just in case nobody has answered your question and you are still looking for the title: the name of the song is "Get Real" by Paul Rutherford, and was released in 1988..
