  • I just watched the movie, Sad ending. There's a price for fame.

  • He was so talanted. It is a shame that he came to such a sad end. No telling how much more great music he could have made.

  • Oh this is to everyone SHAXAVM is just looking for attention lol ... i just gave him some ... JUST KEEP IGNORing him :)

  • Love how all the racist like watching these classic videos. The only way these artist could get wide-spread exposure is from whites buying and requesting their music. Same as today...the largest consumers of rap music is young white kids. Thanks friends!!

  • Love this song!

  • This is a good ass song and you bitch ass crackers that are being racist, you can eat ten baby dicks and the white man can kneel down and do work for all the black rich men and women out there now

  • @laundo1024 Hey man, I'm white and I loved Frankie, Chuck, Bo and all the rock stars.

  • @shaxamv dam thats funny that dumb nigger was on the same drugs as kurt cobain an all the white rock an roll singers use" lol typical

  • best song he wrote

  • a racist dude thanks for the compliment...lol

  • He says Zola's name at the end. i think that's cool.....

  • I loved the movie about his 3 wives. (:

  • FRANKIE LYMON AND MICHAEL JAKCOSN are the greatest child stars that ever lived. these kids coming into the music industry these days need to take notes because this is what natural god given talent is. young men coming into the music industry today are famous because of their appearance and NOT their talent.

  • GARY COLEMAN!!

  • TRUE STAR

  • He is great

  • I first heard Frankie was I 6 I thought he was white

  • did he mess up on the repeat? LOL

  • @shaxAMV if it wasnt for that "dumb nigger" the white garbage u listen to today wouldnt even exist name one type of music the whites made besides country? Can u? The truth is whites hated blacks so much yet they wanted to do everything blacks did get over it.

  • @hotbabies254 frankie was murdered imo.

  • U should really watch the movie about him "Why Do Fools Fall In Love" that's also the name of one of his hit songs

  • Grow up old person.

  • I LOVE Frankie. He reminds me of Gary Coleman, though.

  • Frankie left us with alot for someone with such a short life. Fast forward 50+ years later the music and videos are STILL HERE. Vocally he is still unique and for young/kid singers he is Boss. He's in the Rock Hall of Fame, subject of a Hollywood movie,on the walk of fame and inspired many 50s & 60s singers male & female. We didn't hang out with him...so the rest of it means nothing! Besides I don't think we'll be talking about today's stars 10 years from now. NEXT?!

  • why do the early pre 50 black artists always have there face painted white and there hairs permed? I've seen same thing with Nat King Cole, early James Brown, and pretty much all the females from Ella Fitzgerald to Billy Holiday.

  • @experiment0003 Because before the 60s everything was in black and white and the shadows didn't pick up properly. His face isn't painted white; that's the way the camera recorded it.

As for the perms: Just a style.

  • @amozoness6 As for the perms, you are right... it's just a style.. what inspired it though?

As for the make-up, you're wrong... it has nothing to do with the shadow not being picked up properly.

Compare this particular video of Frankie to watch?v=2ziaIcKiOzA&feature=related

Frankie was way younger and the technology was much primitive, yet he appears considerably darker in that video.

Also check these two videos of Nat Cole from the same era:

    watch?v=8jQoUW1R1YQ

    watch?v=n4J1GvVDSrU

  • @experiment0003 Those performances don't have as much contrast (read: lights) .. trust me, they aren't wearing make up.

  • @amozoness6 I think they are.. look at their lips.. look at there forehead... you can almost see the light reflect... maybe lighting has a lot to do with the way I see it, but it's make up.

  • wasted talent..michael, frankie, elvis,etc....doesnt matter your background or fame...drugs overcome the best. EX: that's why their they WERE the best.

  • Wow... Incredible.... This is true talent.

  • I am so disappointed to see the garbage people are writing on here. Can you not just enjoy this wonderful music and enjoy your life!! I remember my parents playing this music when I was a kid. This and the Mills Brothers and The McGuire Sisters. I wish there was someone that would sing these old songs now. I would love to sit in a small venue and listen to it.

  • @JoyEdgeley--Joy, check out a cover of this recorded by "Chicago" on their album, "Night and Day: Big Band" It's a jazz/rock version Chicago punches out with their great style! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

  • wow he sure was talented

  • @SamLuvsJamesDean your a stupid idiot. r u saying frankie wasn't talented??? wacko jacko sure was talented BUT frankie was the ORIGINAL talent whom mj most likely learned from. i will compare them.

  • @CumInAsses First of all!!!!! Dont insult me you dumb fuck!!!!! Did i say frankie had no talent? NO I DIDNT! YOU SHOULD GO BACK AND SEE WHO THE MORON IS YOU PIECE OF SHIT!

  • @SamLuvsJamesDean you NEVER said that he had talent you faggot piece of shit...oh wait, your a girl aren't you, why you have some mouth on you little girl, how is sucking daddys cock working out for you these days?? DONT FUKKIN SPEAK TO ME LIKE THAT WHORE OR ILL CUT YOUR LITTLE TITTIES OFF YOU DYKE.

  • @SamLuvsJamesDean lol your a brave little slut for fighting with my man like that....he will hurt you if you push him long enough and i wil help him.

  • @SuckMyFarts whatever bitch! I like to see him and his hoe try you don't even know me and he started with me. I didn't say nothing to both your dumbasses and I clearly didn't make a offensive comment at the beginning. So on come bitch and tell your ape to come too. You aint gonna do nothing you dumb whore! hahahha

  • @SamLuvsJamesDean Don't take it seriously. They are just riling you up.

  • @dacortney Thank you =) They don't even know me. And i never said Frankie had no talent. I think he was very talented! But so was Michael. May he Rest In Peace

  • @SamLuvsJamesDean yea ur right

  • @fred7dre thank you

  • @dacortney yea dont listen to them there just being jerks

  • what is there problem

  • aww he fucked up <3 how cute :D!

  • @patricio925 no need to be rude lol. im just tired of ppl comparing him to other artist. I listen to pop, rock, R&B, rap, old and new music is music. Your right justin can learn a lot from Frankie a lot of todays performer can. I think justin is an amazing performer, he loves what he do.

  • No mass-media campaign, no twitter or facebook accounts, no multinational record company. Just talent, plain and simple.

  • i dont understand what this have to do with justin bieber. what about this make you think about justin. yes i like justin and his music.

if you dont like his music dont listen, if you hate justin you shouldn't watch a performance for 1957 and think of him.

  • @idontwantthis1

Ah, Shut up! Swallow that Justin Bieber, eat it. This is not to think about Justin "Keebler" when we see a recording of a singer (Frankie Lymon) with an incomparable voice. It seems you did not understand his comment. The comment from him is because Justin did not even reach the ankles to Frankie. It's just a sample of a singer today, so that they understand that after so many years (1957) still no one like Frankie Lymon.

  • @idontwantthis1

You do not have to be altered because I mentioned Justin. If you provoke, it is because you know that Frankie can be the teacher of Justin.

  • she got some...goody goody! classic

  • Anyone know where I can find a backing track for this?

  • he had wives

  • Man why did he hav to die he was the shit.

  • @TheSugarandspice246 lol why?

  • Michael Jackson eat your heart out!!!

  • more talent in his little toe than lady ga ga, justin beiber, and michael jackson...rest in peace frankie

  • @skontch1 ok 1. Michael Jackson should not be in this category >.>

  • @skontch1 ga ga and justin yes mj ...never

  • @jenniii52 that's fair..i went a little overboard..mj was as talented as they come..his questionable attraction, and sleeping in the same bed with little boys, turned me off to him, but his talent was undeniable

  • man i didnt know frankie could dance....lol

  • My drama camp closed our "Show the parents" performance with this number

  • He danced like Jackie Wilson and sang like .... well .... like nobody else.

  • Avevi una voce magnifica, che tu possa riposare in pace.

  • This was a year before MJ was born. wow. But justin beiber betta suck a fat one on Mj and frankie

  • @lucyme2kul get off the kid justin beiber dick.....leave the alone homo....

  • @TheSuperonestore Hey that comment was 4 months ago. i was being an douche. My apologies =D

  • @lucyme2kul hey u alright......kool!!

  • Mane I love this kinda music better than the violence n drug music we are listening now. But things were diffrent back then:(((

  • For the record, this performance was on the Ed Sullivan Show, not on the Ted Steel Show.

  • FRANK JOSEPH LYMON 1942-1968

  • i just adore frankie lymon :)

  • DANG HE GOT A BIG A SS HEAD HE LOOK LIKE ET ON CRACK

  • @QuranGoodman43 Lmao .

  • why did someone say he said ZOLA at the end its clear that he said SO LONG!

  • super talent its a damn shame how we lost him. he was riffing at a young age wow!

  • Everyone I know listens to new crap. Im 12 and honestly prefer this.

  • @saffyuk1 i feel u, and i'm 15

  • @Weblas0 Yeah a biography would be nice as well. At least then it will have more truth and more details. With any bio movie there is always a little fiction. But Why Do Fools Fall in Love was ridiculous!

  • Eat your heart out, Bieber.

  • A beautiful voice, great talent, but your destiny was so treacherous.....its a pity..today we have many talents, but nobody like Frankie...............RIP little boy!!

  • How old was he on this video?

  • @nickjonasnumbe1lover 13 or 14 cause he started singing at 13

  • has anybody got any playlists that they have?

im 17 and dont know anything about this type of music but want to

  • man i wish he didn't go thru what he did... just talent that went right down the drain!

  • THAT'S IT!!! I CAN'T TAKE THAT BS OF A BIO MOVIE ANYMORE!!! I am starting a petition right here and now! All who agree that a FACTUAL movie should be made about Frankie Lymon which chronicles his entire life, even b4 the Teenagers & with less emphasis on his wives and more on him as a person in regards to his struggles and talent. All who agree thumbs up!

  • love this guy like jk lol :D

  • wonderful man...

  • @VideoVixen24 No, its Barrel of dynamite, not pile.

  • Frankie Lymon's voice is so unique. He could really sing with soul. He remade Dean Martin's "Glow Worm" but Lymon's has an extra verse between the 1st & 2nd and i cant find the lyrics anywhere. But Glow Worm & Little Pretty One are awesome pieces.

  • Its sad he was addicted to heroin and died so young

  • You can just see the entertainment running through his veins as he was singing.....fantastic...

  • wow this guy was beyond talented, I love old school music like this when artists had to have amazing talent to become big

  • tell Michael jackson to moonwalk backwards off a cliff...Frankie blows him away...This guy is so good...singing and performing

  • This kid was pimping prostitutes at age 10 and a superstar at 12. This guy is a boss!

  • This dude is actually the first known case to me of a popular music singer overdosing heroin.

  • He was High when this was filmed

  • He was great, but after he reached puberty and his voice changed, his career was over and he became a drug addict and died, I believe, in his very early 20s. That's why, years later, Michael Jackson started with all those injections after the Jackson Five, because he didn't want his voice to change as he grew older.

  • @DominickFontana

You do realize that michael voiced changed

  • @Bucs6817 I realize that; but that has nothing to do with the point I was making. The point was that Jackson was aware of what happened to Lyman and was afraid that the same thing would happen to him if his voice changed when he got older. That is why he started with the injections. Also, although his voice changed, it was still somewhat high-pitched and effeminate. When Lyman's voice changed, it got deeper, which is standard for a male after puberty. That's what Jackson was trying to avoid.

  • @DominickFontana

Michael did not inject himself. He has a high felatio voice and could sing in different voice rang.. and by him speaking in his high pitch voice all his life helps that... I guess smokey robinson injected himself to because he song high pitched........ That was his singing voice

  • @Bucs6817 I read that Michael Jackson injected himself for the reason I stated. I didn't make it up. I'll see if I can find the information for you. No, I never read that Smokey Robinson injected himself. Neither did Frankie Vali or Lou Chrisite, who both sang in falsetto. I didn't say Jackson had a nigh-pitched voice BECAUSE he injected himself. I said, he was aware of how Lyman's voice got deeper when he got older and he didn't want that to happen to him. His voice may have stayed high anyway.

  • @DominickFontana

You cant always trust what is writen.. Secondly that stuff doesnt even exist.. It is on record from people around him and his family that he perseve the voice by speaking light

  • @Bucs6817 True, you can't always believe what you read, but I read it in a number of reputable sources. Plus, I think even Quincy Jones said that he did.

  • justin beiber you can suck a fat one fankie lymon is and always will be better then you

  • thats how the song gose its not soposed do be short

  • @bustersammy21 Pop songs were much shorter in those days than they are now. Almost all songs were under three minutes...

  • Shit, this is talent. Sheer talent.

  • Whoever dislike this video doesn't know their music. This is classic!! I love you old school. I grew up on it.

  • he died so young.

  • Hail to Panzergeneral GoOdy!!!

  • eat that Justin Beiber

  • @tapyoyosinger

    and choke on it! :D

  • @tapyoyosinger ROFLMBO!!!!!!!

  • @tapyoyosinger aaaaaaaaaahahahahahaha eat that... too funny ...hell yeeeeah

  • @tapyoyosinger I bet Beiber didn't pimp out prostitutes and take heroin when he was 15.

  • @tapyoyosinger SHUT YOUR MOUTH I LOVE JUSTIN BIEBER

  • @tapyoyosinger Grow up old person.

  • WOW he really did say, you've been taken for a ride, zoool-aaaaahhh-ahh haaaa haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ! WOW

  • frankie was a product of his time, you can see the mannerisms of sarah vaughn in his facial expressions as he shapes each note with his mouth, jackie wilson in his dance steps and he is as smooth as sam cooke...He had a god given talent like michael jackson that bloosomed with work..

  • Early James Brown...early Michael Jackson...the guy doesn't get the credit today that he deserves.

  • early James Brown

  • why does he look diferent in alot off videos

  • its crazy how talent go early

  • drugs killing alot of people................

  • Wow Franky... so awesome

  • today's music has gone to shit. the just don't make it like they used to.
