Yell what the fuck is your web site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • excuse me sir but what kind of a chainsaw were you using ????

  • @natedog2004 a shit stihl

  • P.S. it might not work on the piece in the forground because of how large the root flares are but it should work for the piece your working on.

  • I was a tree trimmer for years and all the cross section cut I ever made like the one you have here would split on me. The split would ussually start on the outer edge and go alll the way to the center. An old man told me if I would mix 1/3 turpintine with 2/3 Linseed oil and paint onto the cut on both sides intil the wood just wont soak anymore up than it wouldnt split. He was rite it works. Just tought Id sare.

  • @Kanoee64 yeah, you can buy anu number of wood sealers for that too. you want to seal the cut ends so the wood doesnt dry too quickly, if it does shell crack. sealing the cut ends forces the wood to dry through the bark nice and slowly.. but, I hate waiting for the wood to dry....lol

  • what you do with your scrap wood

  • The cross sections will be used for table tops and/or a coffee table. This is actually a commissioned project to use the live edged wood. The process for drying the cross section included banding the outside and sealing both sides to allow the wood to dry more evenly. You can see more of my work at on my website.

  • Cool vid What is the use of the cross-section? Are they going to be table tops?
