  • 2:09 is that amir from collegehumor ?

  • This is way too good. I sometimes think about making a portfolio and applying to architecture schools. But then I watch this video - And I realize it's hopeless. Your are extremely talented, my friend!

  • hey man, for architecture schools are grades super important? I'm only a sophomore in high school, but I have a few B's on my report card. They're in honors classes though, so it doesn't affect my gpa too much. do you think schools like carnegie or cornell take freshman and sophomore year super seriously grade wise?

  • @thebigtortuga ***2 b's sophomore year (english H and AP us history 1) and 3 freshman (english H, World History H, Geometry). please give honest advice, and if straight a's junior and senior year would make up for it. thank you !

  • Hi there did you get accepted in any schools yet, your work is awesome.

  • This is awesome!! Was gnna ask you where you finally got in then I saw that it's Cornell. Keep it up! Any plan after the college yet? Maybe the GSD? :-) do update!

  • Your portfolio is amazing, im sure you would've got accepted somehwere really good! Andd can i have some advice please?...well im about to undertake my final year in highschool and im not doing any art subjects but i really want to become an architect amd for that i will need a portfolio but i dont no what to put on there because i havent did any comps like you because theres none in my area.....so how should i set my folio up and what should i add? (just sketches of ideas i have?)

  • @PakiiD1Me786 Architecture schools in particular love sketches. Go outside and draw trees, buildings, the landscape, whatever! But make sure you draw from real life, not a photograph. The sketches I have at the end of my portfolio helped me out as much if not more than the competitions. And don't limit yourself. If you love photography, dance, cooking, sculpture, or whatever, you can also put that in your portfolio! Your portfolio is supposed to show who YOU are. Hope that helps =)

  • @bluepenart Okay thankss heapss! yess you definately did help, i just gotta start and put it together! :D

  • Love the portfolio. Your a good drawer. Do you have to be good at drawing to get in and succeed at architecture school?

  • @BardePics Nope, but it helps. It can help your creative processes.

  • wow.I love your portfolio! wonder if you ever got to know what your portfolio rank is when you applied to Cornell?

  • impressive

  • Hello, I just met this video here. You are amazing! I think now you might study architecture in the university somewhere, right? So do I! Im in the first year of architecture school in the university. Really want to hear from you more. Oh by the way, your high school is great! I wish I had the architectural program in high school here! ;)

  • Hey, I was planning to apply as a transfer to Cornell and some universities you mentioned as well.

So I was wondering, if you don´t mind, if you could enlighten me a bit on your SAT scores?

I am planning to re-take them, and I wanted to ask someone who has been accepted what their score was to set a tangible goal.

    Thanks!!

  • @ispeakjustice I never actually took the SAT I decided to take the ACT only. I got a 30 or 31 on the ACT, can't exactly remember.

  • @bluepenart hey im 13 years old and would love to be an architect can you tell me what derees i will need and post a video on how to make good designs and stuff thankyou

  • What grades did you get for those projects of yours?

    thank you

  • @AwesomeCoasters I got A's on the projects, but they were for competitions, and I won a couple of the competitions.

  • hmm you have the same taste in schools as i do. you have nice portfolio btw.

  • What GPA did you graduate with, if you don't mind me asking?

  • @GoalHoops22 3.80 unweighted. Hope that helps

  • You are going to make big bucks one day for being able to do this my friend

  • damn those blue pen drawings are amazing.

  • Hi! Your portolio looks awesome. I myself am applying to a few schools including syracuse, and was wondering where did you get the binder? I am applying as a transfer and we have to send in a blue or red 10w X 13h X 1/2d binder.

  • @fabiola205 1/2" binders are really common, any office supply store should have them. Any office depot, office max, staples, fedex kinkos, target, walmart, or even walgreens will have 1/2" binders. And that's only to list a few places. I don't know about red or blue, all mine were black or white. Hope this helps!

  • @bluepenart what schools did you get into?

  • @fabiola205 I got into University of Oregon, Syracuse University, RISD, Parsons New School of Design, and Cornell University. All of those for architecture, i will be attending Cornell

  • @bluepenart CONGRATS!

  • @bluepenart did you do your portfolio interview for cornell before your senior year or after it began?

  • @locoppl I did my interview during my senior year

  • @bluepenart What month would you say it was around??

  • Wow you're really a natural in design and drawing and whatnot. Best of luck! :)

  • Amazing work! I have worked with a few great designers/architects over the years and I think you have natural talent and show a lot of promise. I wish you luck on your college entries =)

  • Looks good!I just have one question.. I have to make a portfolio as well, but for art school. Can you give me some tips on how to make one?

  • @ItsLolaBetch I have a few tips, but i would recommend trying to take a look at someone who made a portfolio for art school and got accepted. Just to see the work and format that they used. My first tip is to take your time and create drawings that you are seriously proud of. This may seem like common sense, but always keep that in mind. Also, try not to draw from photograph. I wasn't able to include most of my youtube drawings in my portfolio, luckily i had lots of other stuff.

  • @bluepenart Thanks! Also, do you have a Deviantart account :D? (sorry if you already have answered this question to someone else, but i'm curious!)

  • @ItsLolaBetch No, i actually don't. I've never heard of that before to be honest.

  • thats just awesome mate ^^ good job!

  • @liveforthep thank you!

  • Wow, this is seriously impressive! I'd be proud of myself if i were you! :)

  • @EllyEpic wow, thanks so much. That means a lot =)
