tenrecords, you are so right. A lot of 60s bands are still doing a bit on the "greybeards" circuit and as you say so many faded. Pity they never did more.
This really is one of my all-time favourites - it is 1965 all over again, the year I met my lovely wife and a summer of really fabulous, fabulous music
Heard this on a Heartbeat re-run and -POW- it took me right back to my teens. I'd forgotten all about this release by the Rockin' Berries who seemed to be totally overwhelmed by 'He's In Town'.
this brings back tons of memories for me I was still a teenager in Brum then..Alex's Pie Stand in Station Street, Velocettes, Matchless, DKW...oooh Yeh.
Strange really, so many great bands like this never got off the ground, a couple of brilliant songs then that was it. There are bands from the 60s like the Bee Gees, the Who that just got better, others faded away, sad.
They became a comedy showgroup in the late 60's. I sa them a few times and they were absolutely brilliant. Clive Lea (I think) was brilliant but was then replaced by a guy called Terry Webster who was even better imo. Brilliant impressionist. Very, very funny cabaret act.
I remember this one on the jukebox, the dual voices have impact and appeal for this "work"song.Good rythmic backing as well. This song deserves much more recognition than has been seen here. Thanks etc.
I went to see a crap film because they had done the music brilliant .Thanks for posting it.

Another great under-rated Brum/ UK group of the wonderful mid 60s. I saw them around 1966 : A serious musical & entertaining group.

Excellent band who seem to have been overlooked in comparison to their contemporaries of that time?

is brian yates still managing them...?
Worked at croyde bay with them about 10 years ago, as another poster said, they're heavily into comedy cabaret...... which they did very well.
Part of the 60's birmingham scene along with mike sheridan, the move, idle race, bev bevan, roy wood, the fortunes and many, many more....
distant memories..
