the next is compression stroke this is where all valves are closed, the next is power stroke this is when the spark plug sends a spark and ignites the fuel/air mixture, and then the exhaust stroke the piston starts at the bottom then the exhaust valves open and the exhasut is pushed out. So then a 2 stroke is all the stuff but only in a single up-down motion. This is also why a 250 2 smoke is comparable to a 450 4 stroke, the 2 smoke fires twice as much as a 4 to provide the same rpms!

in case that was confusing a 125 2 stroke will eat a 125 4 stroke in every category...except maybe fuel efficiency lol

I got mine for 1700 plus another 150 for supplies/parts that were needed. As far as the bike you have goes, you're already screwed if you want to resell, but restoring it could be a fun project. Actually there is just one thing a 4 stroke does better and that is passing emission test.

I would have a lot more fun in the trails with a 2 stroke. I would rather ride a yz85 through a trail than a ttr 230. The yz85 is alot faster and more easy to move round than the heavy slow ass ttr 230. Also a 4 stroke will heat up a lot quicker. In a long day riding in the trails my yz85 will be alot cooler than the ttr at the end.

I believe in the trails is where 4 strokes will succeed, sure look at all the gncc type bikes. Also for every body that doesnt know the difference between a 2 and 4 stroke! A 4 stroke engine has four different strokes, the first is intake stroke where the intake valves are open and exhasut are closed
