UMD vs CSO / ISO

Is CSO slower than ISO? CSO is alot smaller, but how much there is difference?

I prefer CSO because it's fast and small^^...But as I said : An ISO isn't very faster ;)

@Sebustard Okay. I flashed my PSP yesterday and I put GTA VCS to it and it worked perfectly and it booted to the game in 5 seconds after the cutscenes. It did lag little on game when it loaded stuff from .cso, but it was still faster than UMD. But what's the difference bethween Inferno, M33 driver and Sony NP9660 iso modes?

But I used the "SOny NP9660 - no umd driver", because an other user recommended me that =P

..I had that lags with VCS, too^^....I just set the CPU frequnecy to 333 Mhz and it worked perfectly^^

@Sebustard Okay. Its sad, that in 6.39 PRO-B8 that doesn't work, but in ME9.1 it works. But in ME9 the recovery menu is a bit different, it is more confusing and after it the PSP restarts, in PRO-B8 it doesn't. :p

@Sebustard I use the M33 driver because I had issues with the Sony one. Have you thought of making a video comparing them and seeing if there's any differences?

you may use 'no logo driver' for gameboot -_-

@Sebustard yes yes .. but i mean the driver for gameboots, when you (or he) use no logo driver there will be no PSP logo, just your custom gameboot :)

anyway the best way is disable gameboot.. it saves time :)

nya, it could be that my friend used it, but his psp was the one with the UMD^^...-> it was still slower although he disabled the boot =D

But I never used that on mine, because I loved to use modded gameboots ;D...

why is this necessary at all? common sense for all those wondering, reading off a memory card will always be faster then a UMD and using a CSO will almost always be slower then ISO because compression hurts file performance.

The good thing from PSP GO is dat the game Runs faster.

16gb can hold 22-23 games and 8gb can hold 11-12 I'm telling the truth because I have the 16GB and the 8GB I have a back up so I have two memory sticks oh and I know how to install costum firmware.

you could always get the new software know as the iso compressor, it also supports the conversion to the new and improved jso :)

ok let me put it 2 u this way dax (a more compresed file than cso) is slow for some games iso is the fastest but the most memory consumption so its your choice cso is in the middle it faster than dqax but smaller than its iso (what i mean is like midnight club 3 iso is about 1.5gb but the cso is 700mb so its the game iso cso and dax thats determines it)CSO ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111­1111

You can convert the ISO files with "Ciso" (for PC) to CSO or DAX files. But the best is CSO, because this format reduces the size...

Actually, games can be a max of 1.8gb, and I personally have a game that's like 60mb.

Games can be anywhere between that too, from 300mb, to 600mb, or 800mb etc.

If you compress them, they're even smaller, but take a little longer to load.
