  • All this information and governments are still building nuclear reactors. How foolish we human beings are. I live in Ontario Canada and the government here wants to build 4 new reactors at Darlington. We the people have to fight to stop this insanity. Pray we win and we research and implement renewable energy. PEace to ALL.

  • @earthdance11

Chernobyl is no excuse to stop the building of nuclear plants, It was poorly built.

Nuclear plants are more safe than any other plants that could exist. You sir are worrying yourself.

At least you don't have obama as president. you should be happy!

  • This is horrible! I feel like screaming everytime i see something about Chernobyl!

  • Savemyplaylist* sorry

  • Savemyplanet you are trying to argue against everyone who is saying the same thing. So everyone commenting on this video knows nothing about science apart from you? Radiation is incredibly difficult to clear up and takes thousands of years to degrade that is why Chernobyl still has radiation all over it..

  • The whole point of this video is DON'T FUCK WITH RADIOACTIVE POWER!

  • it just happen japan 2011

  • @panbula

Oh shut the fuck up, Japan wasn't SHIT compared to this.

  • @WTFISWRONGISM Your Stupid, Shutup

  • @kstcanada Not as stupid as somebody who mindlessly plays COD all day every day.

  • Those people that gave away their lives and welfare away to help control the situation are true heros, and deserve our respect and admiration.

    May them rest in peace!

  • Бог может исцелять людей и природы и времени ... SLAVA CCCP

    славы украинских солдат

  • @SRBINnbg29untilidie eto ne tolko Ukrainci rabotali v likvidacii chernobilskoi katastrofi, ludi ot vsego CCCP tam pobivali.

  • tragedy ? hardly it was there own fault pushing the reactors to the limit they still use the same type of reactors to this day all over Russia

  • @randomnoone they made a decision and it was wrong nobodys perfect

  • Who argues on youtube?.........really?

  • One time I was in Chernobyl, and there was some guy with all these APCs and some dude walking around and he looked pissed off. so anyways I'm up in this abandoned Apartment complex and I shot this mofos arm right off!!!!

  • @XVampiricLesboNunsX

Nope! You were in Pripyat! And why the hell did you shoot his arm off! He was just walking around looking pissed off!:D

  • heh people think theyre cool using lines from modern warfare 2 makes me laugh

  • 50,000 people Just to live here Now it's a ghost town

  • @dikkefuck123456789 Fuck you

  • wow, those are some tough bastards, almost every one died after they got 15 minutes of exposure to the immese radiation. are those graves, like the molds of heads/faces, the sculpture of the men's faces? i must say that is IMPRESSIVE artwork to sculpt a mans face accuratley into a gravestone.

  • happyjack: cause they cant fight in real life.

  • Could someone explain to me how people died in that accident? i know it's a tradegy, and many died of the explosion, but i was wondering, what does radiation do to you. The only thing I know is that it can cause cancer.

  • @MrAhAty

The radiation that was released during the explosion caused severe burns to the victims, as if they were in a microwave oven. The survivors had their genetic-code damaged, which lead to birth-defects and cancer.

  • Yes, radiation causes cancer. But also, just coming into short contact with it gives you very severe burns. I know a guy who was handling radioactive material, and very small amounts of it too, and he had burns all over his hands.

  • @MrAhAty You couldn't get close enough to touch the "elephant's foot" in the basement under the reactor without dying.

  • The power plant needs a new sarcophagus now. It's decaying because it was hastily built since is needed to be done quick, but the plans for building a new stronger one already exists. It's being built by elements over the old one, and when it's over it, the old one under it will be demolished.

  • yo zoe una de las personas que me gusta todo lo de chernobyl y imvestigo por mi cuentaes muy interresante xD

  • You have to admire the courage of the ordinary people who are victims there & feel compassion for those who've lost so much; that goes no matter what country has a disaster, my heart's with the people.

**So many were affected even in surrounding countries- . - But the Ukrainians (And neighbouring Europeans) don't go 'ambulance chasing' trying to sue for compensation for every little mishap - they just get on with it, don't they?

  • nasty americans think they know everything... chernobyl was a terrible tragedy that affected the entire world. It is a global disaster! oil spills are terrible disasters, but since we don't live in the ocean, few people care. just because it's not in your front yard, it's easy to turn a blind eye. What goes on where you are that you don't know about? How's your water? clean? how do you know? think about it...

  • u base your view on america off of a few ppl. your Chernobyl accident can easily be compared to our 9/11 attack. that was a global disaster for world trades across the WORLD. u would really make a comment like that out of this vid? what the hell does oil have to do with a Nuclear reactor IT SAYS IN THE VIDEO

  • 9/11 may have put some smoke and asbestos in the atmosphere, but that's no more a global disaster than the eruption of a volcano. You can rebuild. The radioactive dust from that reactor has spread over europe and the globe, and the area around it is uninhabitable for centuries. The comparison to oil spills was from an earlier comment. And finally, I have dealt with many citizens of the US, so I'm not basing it on a few people.

  • because the words WORLD TRADE mean nothing they are just there to take up space? trust me it had an just as big as impact to u as Chernobyl. and it sure is hell stretched further

  • @MrMeineNamen

During the terrorist attack, a few thousand lives were lost, the economy was brought to a temporary stand-still, the world's view on islam was tarnished, and a war was started.

The Chernobyl disaster killed thousands of people, harmed the lives of hundreds of thousands more, and has left that region of Ukraine plagued with life-threatening radiation.

Both events inflicted a lot of damage, but they have no similarities, so why compare them?

  • why are people having fights on you tube its 100% pointless.

  • Fuck those politicans who get paid by the atomlobby-mafia! Send them to hell and let them rot there forever.

  • vodka make u immune for radiation only in stalker lol

  • @ worldstuffest

    You may be wrong:

"Q: How long before the area in Chernobyl is safe enough for human habitation?

    Mark Flower, London

Nicholas Beresford, Centre for Hydrology and Ecology: Contamination varies considerably throughout the 30 km exclusion zone. Some areas could probably be used now but in others radiation doses may remain above advised limits for some hundreds of years. "

  • Nuclear waste does take time to natural decay, but not 500 years like some of these morons who can't seem to find their caps lock key say. It takes about 40 years, yes, it's a long time, but it is stored underground safely. Once it has naturally decays, the nuclear waste can actually be recycled, recycled nuclear waste provides better roads, and is a better filter for water than carbon. For you impatient geasers, nuclear waste can also be rendered harmless from super heated plasma.

  • I heard that this diaster was so bad that workers can't properly cover the sarcophogus and it is leaking and could possibly collapse. It's NOT stored safely underground, and they're trying to build something better, however, money is an issue. Even after 23 years, the radiation levels close to the plant are as high as the day the accident happened.. I know people that went there...levels are quite high. 20 more years doesn't look promising...

  • i was born that year so i think that im a chernobil child

  • yea you are n00b lol

  • have you got 6 arms? are you a mutant freak?

  • Comment removed

  • .....UMMM EVER HEARD OF A THING CALLED "HALF-LIFE?" NO, NOT THE VIDEO GAME IT MEANS IT WILL TAKE LIKE 500 TO 1000 YEARS TO DEGRADE, LIKE damed2live IS TALKIN BOUT.

I WOULD RATHER SHOOT ALL THE STUPID PEOPLE UP INTO SPACE, THE REST OF US EDUCATED FOLK WILL BE JUUUUST FINE!!

  • TO THE DUMB FUCKS WHO ARE SAYING JUST SEND THE NUCLEAR WASTE INTO SPACE! YOUR RETARDED! When this happened all of europe was effected by nuclear fall out. Its in the air , in the atmosfer , in the ground and in the buildings You cant just send it away. its going to be here for a good long while , with a half life of at least 500 years.

  • Yah if these idiots do some research or even played stalker or fallout they would know more on how radioactivity behaves

  • You need those "idiots." Who else is going to wade through the slop to build that new housing?

  • hahaha good point

  • @damed2live It's not that easy to send that away. Space vehicles are very expensive to build at the moment. Especially now when we're running out of fossile fuel.

  • @damed2live

Well, try sending a fifty story building into the space! Try sending miles of land into the space! Try sending cars, trees, people into the space! I can't believe how retarded some people can be! If you don't have any knowledge about it why even say something! I can see why you are so frustrated with these retards!

  • @damed2live You can clean that shit up, simple chemistry. You must have done very poorly in your science classes.

  • @savemyplaylist dude you cant clean radiation. its going to stay in the air for atleast 1,000 years

  • @blessthefallmichael you're an idiot, pick up a fucking chemistry book would you?

  • @savemyplaylist im studing how nuclear energy can affect people and things. not in school but out of my free will its intersting so i think you need to shut the fuck up you dumb ass.

  • @blessthefallmichael So???? The fact that you don't understand simple chemistry proves how much of an epic failure you are. As a matter of fact, nuclear waste is easier to clean up than lots of other pollution.

  • @damed2live You mean for over 100000 years

  • @NEEDCARS depends on the the radiation level.

  • @kittyburger000 I meant in the reactor.

  • @damed2live I think the retards are the ones who can't spell atmosphere...

  • @damed2live When accusing people of being retarded, it might be a good idea to use the proper word of YOU'RE instead of the word YOUR when using the phrase YOU'RE RETARDED :)

  • yea it sucks but we did this to japan. twice.

  • Would you rather have had a ground war with Japan, and the deaths be 10x to 100x higher?

  • yea thats what i want cadillacjim.

  • not even close, at least they could rebuild .. this place wont be populated for another 400 years

  • y dont they send radioactive waste into space,i meen hu reely cares about sum waste in milions of galaxys away

  • yeah, just send it to the moon: earth's new garbage disposal site! I don't think they can yet because there is a lot of waste and firing that many rockets into space would probably be extremely expensive. Also you need a lot of energy to fire the rockets...which kind of counters the whole point of using nuclear energy

  • yehh but,huu wood u rather see ppol die and cities die for sum waste tht the govenrment dont need and they dont giv 2 fukks about

at the end of the day,thy dont guv 2 fukks about anything else thn muney

  • larn tu spel maron

( Learn to spell moron )

  • how are you going to criticize somebody's spelling when you can spell yourself. just shut the fuck up

  • its like fallout 3 in real life

  • ITS WORSE TEHN THAT I WAS TEHRE .

  • you wernt there ,

  • Well, it just further proves the fact that russians are sloppy with everything they do. Government people, everything

  • dumbfuck! think before psting bullshit, you cunt

  • lolz.....get pissed a bit more?

  • WHO GIVES A FUCK ABOUT YOUR LIFESTYLE?!>?! FIRST OF ALL I HATE YOUR LIFESTYLE and WE ARE NOT JEALOUS OF ANYTHING RELATED TO YOU!!!!!

you had many explosions of oila nd gas plants just 2 years ago. wooow...guess what - SLOPPY!

and about yiour "rich" crap - how about paying the world dept that is over 11 TRILLION bucks?!

Russian has NO dept while you do...

  • lol. Russians owe shit loads of dept. TO US! We bailed you mother fuckers out when you're sloppy dumb asses couldn't calculate and you became inflated. BTW. We haven't had an oil SPILL. not explosion, spill. Since like 1994. And that was by privately owned companies who were illegally smuggling. BTW. We only owe about 2.6 Trillion dollars. But that's all to china! lol. Don't believe everytrhing you THINK you hear.

  • As skyraptor is writing this he is probably buying Jordans on the internet that an American created , on a web site that was created buy americans, wearing a Yankees shirt. He stubled across this video looking for a way to get to America All you are good for are mail order brides...lol.

  • You just made absolutely 0 sense pal. Congratulations in making yourself look like the biggest dumb ass on the internet. Round o' Applause...

  • Glad you think so Techreview. Do not really care for Russian or whatever he, is talking about the great country I serve. Lucky for me I can write whatever the fuck I want. Unlike you fucks I give back to this great society I live in. So for the record you can kiss my ass, and I hope every one in that communist country dies. Keep arguing with the worthless Russian you stupid fuck.

  • why do you dislike those who can't speak so much?

  • I hate to bring the subject of computer games into this, but I wonder how the survivors feel about the game STALKER: the shadow of Chernobyl, and how their situation is portrayed in pop culture.

  • Even though I wasn't alive then, when I first read about it I almost compulsively learned more. I feel so bad for the people this happened to. 1,000 REM and there's nothing anyone can do.

  • no the wind was a major factor to it it blow the radiation away from keiv but most eurpe was cover in radiation

  • They found a monster catfish in Chernobyl's river.Nuclear meltdown makes a horrible disaster :(

  • how can he live

  • Heh there is a theory that if you drink alot of Vodka it makes it less of a chance you will get radioactive

  • Not vodka - red vine. But vodka works too. It's just lets to get less harm to your body from radiation.

  • sorry to ask this but how can vodka make u abit immune for radiation?

  • I dont know how exactly it's work, but its medical fact. C2H5OH is help body cells to resist radiation. Try to google it.

  • Ok i will

  • that's just an excuse soviets made up so they can drink lots of vodka

  • Interesting coincidence that this video is 4:26 long considering the date of the disaster. I was born within the hour of this happening.

  • Actually, there lived 14.000 people in Chernobyl, not 50.000 .. Don't forget, Chernobyl is a city and Prypiat is only a part of it, it was built for the Soviet families. It's at the north of the well-known "Red Forest" which trees are quite red now because of the radioactivity. In 2006 there lived 645 people in Chernobyl, NOW only 413 people remain there. (Prypiat's population: 0)

  • is impossible nobody can live in a radiactive area they mus be dead because the radiactivity is Lv3 so that kill you wy people still allive?

is incredible chernobyl mus be clean in million of years because thje radiactivity is very strong.

  • less than a million years....

  • Actually, the radiocativity itslef is mostly contained in the reactor. The grounds of the "Zone" are clean. Some people still live there. TI is said that the city of Prypjat will be clean in a couple of centuries.

  • Pripyat can be populated again in 300 years.

  • There are benefits and some major drawbacks to nuclear energy, one drawback is the amount of nuclear waste that is being generated with essentially nowhere to place it, but the good thing is the energy produced...in my opinion with smart utilization of other green techs we could easily supplement the nuclear power supply without any hassle, all nuclear power is, is a giant steam generator...parabolic solar plants could do the same thing if not on an even greater scale and have no waste output

  • really there are safe wayys in store it underground very very very veyr very very very deep

  • 50,000 people used to live here, now its a ghost town.

  • i think this sentence came in call of duty 4

  • yes, it was, actually: look at this place, fifty thousand people used to live in this city, now its a ghost town, never seen anything like that

  • @Soap1O ....what one?

  • @joeprice010 "50.000 people used to live here, now it's a Ghost town"

  • @Soap1O oh yeaaa ahaha. i love that line.

  • @Soap1O do u find this funny making fun of the worst accident ever. because it effected the world. oh your really cool and funny. get a life

  • @obiwan544 I just said that because I heard that sound somewhere, it wasn't supposed to be funny or something...

  • @Soap1O its from cod4 and this accident isnt a game nor fun. keep that in mind next time

  • @obiwan544 You're fucking retarded man! I just said that because I think it was cut out of a Game. And this has nothing to do with fun or anything, I just relized it, and it was not meant to be fun. You're fuckin' overeacting. Freakin' star wars retard....

  • @Soap1O whos retarded here. i think you i have respect for the people who have experienced ths tragedy. you dont. i dont compare it with a game nor did i call you names. i dont overeact i stick your own nose in your own shit coming out of your mouth.

  • @obiwan544 I don't compare idiot, I just realized it because I first heard exactly that freakin' sentence in a freakin' game and it was exact the same sentence. This anything but disrespectful. This has nothing to do with disrespect. And you go like fucking crazy just because I mentioned it. Really you need to learn more about social life get outta your fuckin' stack and talk to people in real life and quit watching your god damn starswars.

  • @Soap1O no this is respectfull. and what do you have with starwars just call it nerd or something. and this shit coming out of your mouth is veeerrrry social. your arguments are as shit as the crap coming out of your mouth

  • I must have heard that sentence 4000 times now.

  • Recycling costs way more money than it saves. People still do it. One more reason to say no to recycling.

  • At least there is no tree cutting. One reason to recycle. But hemp you be legalized for hundreds of reasons. Hemp gave profit in the begining of US and during WW2. Hundreds of reasons why hemp should be legal in this falling economy.

  • millions, if not billions, of dollars of illegal drug money is laundered back in to the U.S. economy through "legitimate, non-profit causes" and high-power bank and trusts. it's just more money they make off of self-destructive habits (a rule of satanism). and not recycling is retarded. if not now, then they will be digging up trash to recycle it in 100 years due to exponential population growth and demand. sadly, we really do need another good old fashioned world war. too many of us.

  • Hemp is not a drug. You can't get high. Headache probably. But if drugs were legal at least the gov could use the tax profit to make rehab clinics where people could buy and use their drug of choice and at the same time learn how damaging it is. In Canada there is a heroin clinic and around 9 of ten recover without relapse. In the US, people use street drugs and chances are most don't seek help. If they do, a lot relapse. It is important to be open about dif ways to target problems.

  • A reason some people use nuclear energy is simply because it gives off alot of power.

    Solar-20% Hydro-10% Wind-10% Trash-3% Nuclear-60%

  • That's so sad!

  • One more reason to say no to nuclear energy. Pollutant and never know what could happen.

  • Oh my god neolestat13. You are so completely wrong.

  • yeah nuclear energy isn't clean energy. you're 100% right.

    btw, you're wrong. cool.

  • Right, because if Soviet Russia fucked it up then obviously every other nation in the world would be just as shoddy. Remember when they cacked a capsule full of Cosmonauts by accident? Horrifying! We should clearly abandon our space program based on that evidence.

  • There is more factors that makes you reluctant for future use. Nuclear energy is no cleaner than making hydrogen which pollutes in its process making. All I am saying is that people should study it and think about its future use. Pros and Cons... see it balances for a reasonable conclusion. I simply say no more nuclear power plants, since there is too many already and invest more in solar and wind. As humans we should not think in a limited dimension but instead search for even cleaner energy.

  • None of your conclusions are reasonable...to say nothing of your diction.

  • Think about it.

  • Will do.

  • RIGHT lets just keep on using coal...sounds like a great fucking idea..now for real, and anyone who thinks nuclear is worse then coal or the same carbon devastation get your facts straight... we're not retarded, digging up uranium leaves a carbon footprint but if you think thats anything compared to the digging up and burning of millions of truckloads of coal a day just dosent seem to equal out considering you can get more energy from one tiny pellet of uranium then a train cart filled with coal

  • I never said anything about coal. I rather nuclear than coal. But like I have said before. AS HUMAN BEINGS WE MUST SEARCH FOR CLEANER TECHNOLOGY with the least harm. Nuclear does polute. Maybe not more than coal or oil but if you add up the additional risks then what? It is like living in 500 ad and the only way of discipline for a child is to hit him with rod. Now we know there is ways to discipline without hitting. There has been two nuclear accidents already.

  • i was going to note that you didnt say anything about coal but didnt have space,i mean who does want coal, anyways im all for alternative clean energies especially renewables but they have alot of expenses for generating little power at this time, i think we need more nuclear plants to meet our current energy needs and to slow the Co2 output till we can get good solar fields or wind farms where you can transmit the energy more then 20 miles away.i mean try to run a steel mill off a wind farm

  • apartment buildings, houses, office buildings and stores should run with solar. Like in San Diego there is a small number of solar instalments, but even when material and instalment expense there is long term savings and not only makes big houses run on energy but the generators save in case of blackouts and at the same time donate some to energy companies. Solar is efficient but people tend to think it as en expense in other plances. We have casinos and paper factories that run on pure wind too

  • thats a great sculpture in the backround.

  • its bloc and pipeline maps from cod 4

  • amazing to me any of the workers survived.

  • this is how the world is and you cannot stop history but make it

  • I seen a video of some place where science and

a strange facination with understanding creation. Some sort of cetrefuge 17 miles

long just to split an atom, to replicate the creation of the universe.

I think it similar to Nimrod's Arrow. This Clip of a nuclear plant accident, demonstrates

a clear want to rely on nature itself, rather than disecting, what is already good.

    Darin

  • damn, that's some sad stuff. i like how they gave the guys that got killed a good monument and gravesite.
