  • I love ricky nelson <3

  • I would of kiddnapped him <3

  • I actually remember watching this live so many years ago. I was so taken I actually recorded it with my mini tape recorder. The Nelsons were the all American Family in the 50's.

  • HE MAKES YOU REMEMBER THE REAL CHRISTMAS WAS LIKE ...THANK YOU

  • SO great.....

  • This is beautiful - Ricky Nelson was no ordinary heartthrob nor pop singer. Such straight vocals and a nice voice - how refreshing.

  • Love it...do you remember Christmas like that? I do..

  • He shaped my dreams of a boyfriend forever.

  • Wow! That guitar sounds like a piano!

  • Why can't may of today's television programs be like this?

  • tank you oui noel un monde quond garde enfant dans le coeur merci encore pour cette merveilleuse chanson ricky nelson

  • Traci Nelson is not a good looking woman. Horrible actress. She talks through her nose. Rick's wife was not close to being what I consider beautiful. Her droppy eyes, Traci inherited. His kids didn't have a chance to be good looking with the wife he picked.

  • Ricky is the quintessence of dreamy ............ bless you Ricky

    and merry christmas everyone !

  • And a baby Tracy Nelson!!!

  • @ 0:54 lmao (im going to hell for this but..) damn that child fell from the ugly tree

  • @ledesma30013 ....roflmao.....

  • @ledesma30013 thats, just wrong, but true.... XD Roflmbo

  • such a wonderful body we played around in school

  • Wonderful...He really had a great voice...a lot of emotion...Another great Nelson song is Life...has anyone heard it...?

My NEW favorite youtube holiday song is: The Spirit of Christmas by John Starley Allen...It's a very touching song and I wish Rick were here to sing it...

  • He was so handsome

  • He was so cute

  • Beautiful

  • haha the guitar sounds jus like a piano hahaha Merry Christmas

  • Don't get me wrong. I love Ricky and I love this video and stuff, but how is there only piano music when he is palying the guitar?

  • @hsmgeek4ever

    Haha, spooky...

  • Rick become shy as he grew older, quite the opposite from the young Ricky. It wasn't strange. It was just his way.

  • I always liked him on the OZZIE and HARRIET Show series...

Still--it always seemed rather strange to watch him as he sung his tunes....

He almost seemed to exhibit little or no expression...very noticeable to many besides myself.

  • I think to this day that Rick Nelson is still underrated as one of the best singers and performers to come down the pike. Elvis even said that if the angels sing, they would have the voice of Rick Nelson.

  • @charliekucharski

Elvis Band members used to kid and say that Rick sounded like the Everly brothers in one body,Then Elvis piped up and said if James Dean could sing, he would sound like Ricky Nelson. after that no one in Elvis band ever questioned Ricks Talent again.

  • very nice, thank you Rick!

  • not bad, but lets not go overboard like obsessed fans

  • I dont remember this particular show, but I was a bit young at the time. Great rendition of one of my favorites!

  • He Ain't No NAT KING COLE

  • @GreenLantern405 Agree. It's a very good version, but Cole's is unsurpassed.

  • It is hard to believe that the talented young man we see and hear in this memorable video would have been 70 years old this year(2010) if permitted to live. God bless you always, Rick.

  • i'd love a Ricky Nelson Xmas record for Christmas

  • Are there nude photos of Miss Ricky?

  • Hey its colorada from rio bravo, u shoot em up kid!!

  • It is so unfair he left us so young. He was so close to perfect. Such a fantastic voice, so amazingly good looking, those eyes alone are enough to melt anyone.

  • Him and Nat king Cole did such a wonderful job performing this song. It touches my heart in my most merriest way lol. I love Christmas.

  • Tracy is really cute in this video!

  • I would assume the little girl with Kris Harmon Nelson is Rick's oldest child ~ Tracy ~

  • Very, very nice. Ricky is sure missed - especially by some of us here in the UK.

  • I thank God that Ozzie Nelson did not live to see his son's death. Harriet handled it very bravely, but often women are stronger at handling tragedies.

  • Women are the stronger sex where it counts, no matter what society says. Harriet was probably a great wife/mother and decent loving woman overall. I mean just look at the sons she put out in the world, not only great entertainers, but from what I've read great human beings too.

  • What year is this from?

  • I own this video and in the show Harriet Nelson reveals the year- 1964

  • @gootenslog

This video is from Christmas 1964.

  • Nelson for ever

  • I remember watching this show, the night it aired. It was a beautiful show and Rick did a beautiful job on his version of The Christmas Song!

Like Nat King Cole, Rick Nelson died too young!

  • In less then 2 hours it will be Christmas in the USA. We will honor and celebrate the birth of our Savior...God bless you all, Believers and non believers, alike.

  • @NYNYpatriot77 - May He bless us year-round.

  • @Thearl Yes and I hope you are blessed as we speak.

  • Jakc101. While Nat Cole sang my favorite version of the Christmas Song, it was written by Mel Torme and Bob Wells.

Black singer, white writers. I don't see why it was necessary to say what you did, but in the spirit of the season, I wish you a Merry Christmas.

  • @Semisweetone thanks man but it was true there really did do that andim not racist

  • Oh, I know that happened, but I still don't think your comment was necessary. Why do we all keep stiring the pot? Doesn't make race relations any better does it? Not a "hater" just someone who would like to move forward not backward.

  • @Semisweetone i still dont get wat ur trying to say man well just forget it ok tommorow is christmas so h appy holidays man have a nice xmas!!!

  • You too, and my best wishes for a Happy New Year.

  • @Semisweetone to you as well my friend

  • back in the old day like the 1960s white ppl no offense to a those white out there would steal blacks song like this i bet this guy steal nats song

  • @jakc101

haha funny man, NAT like most of vocalist at the time had the songs written for them.

Mel Torme and Bob Wells wrote this (both White!) and gave it to NAT. (learn your facts first) his biggest songs were just sung by him, and not written by him. (smile...white writer) hahah

  • @BigTeste oo do u think i well get alot of hater comments towards my comment i think so

  • 00:53, that kid is high! gurns and mad eyes! hahahaha. beautiful song.

  • Cute, but Nat King Cole version is way better. Actually Nat King Cole cover is the best version ever.

  • RIcky Nelson was a beautiful human being Rest in Peace

  • the man is good looking hahahah...

  • i remeber growing up in the 1960s times were wonderful unlike the times of today people act like dey lost there damn minds back then there wasent all this crime and sinful doings there was peace resepect kindness companionship for one another now a days so many people envy each other for no reason times just arent like they use to be and never will but when jesus comes back on earth he going clean all this mess man has created and there will be a paradise here on earth praise god

  • My sentiments exactly.

  • nah Nat did sing it better

they both have outstandinq voices but i wuld give Nat the edge

  • good pld times...!

  • He did a great job on this song, and it was nice ti see the fanily all together. His wife in real lfe (ChrisHarmon) featured here, was a real whack job,we would find out later. What a shame. drugs that screwed her up ended up doing him in too,on that fateful plane crash on New Years eve going into New Years day 1986.

  • @dennytoby Please do your research before you post a comment that drugs were involved in the plane crash. It is completely false. No drugs were found and the cause of the crash was because of a faulty heater in the main cabin. It was a plane once owed by Jerry Lewis. You are correct Chris was a real nut case.

  • Merci!

  • That man could sing anything!

  • i wonder what it was like in the black and white years [no racism]

    =]

  • A best Christmas song ever

  • This is my paradigm of how the world was- beautiful, safe, and the Christmas tree was the most miraculous sight ever;;you do know who Ricky Nelson is, don't you( 1950's)????

  • I love the mood.its great*U*

  • nice!!!!!!!!! i love these black & white videos...so nice

  • Nat sang it better !

  • @erinmichelle22 He sang it different not better. They both had a wonder style of singing that song. Just a matter of who you prefer to listen to.

  • my favourite Christmas song .. :)

  • the best carol

  • Was never a big fan of Chris Nelson. So many other girls were out there. Ricky was truly an amazing artist. If only he were here today.

  • The time is always right for a moody christmas song!

How it could change our feelings to became friendlier and more gentle!

    Thanks!

  • what a nice voice him and david have beautiful famalies

  • Thanks for the post.

  • I remember when he sang this song on TV during one of the shows Ozzie and Harriet. What a handsome man.

  • what year was this? he is so handsome. :)

  • This man could sing anyone else's hit and make it sound great--often better. Merry Christmas, my fellow Rick Nelson Fans.

  • aww very nice

  • Thx Ricky for a wonderful version of this song

Rest in peace i know youre among the angels now.

  • usually it sound different, but this is better than usual, isn't it?

  • This is very nice, I love Ricky's voice.

  • Amazing!

  • Picture perfect isn't it?? I always thought the way he blinked his eyes was really subtle and appealing to the gals!!

Thanks for sending this to me.

  • I have always enjoyed listening to Christmas music; I can listen to it 24/7! It's just that great! I've heard many versions of this particular song, and I have found this to be one of the few versions that I enjoy listening to. Rick has a very nice voice that I enjoy listening to, and not really a rockabilly/country music fan.

  • so classical!~~

  • Love listening to Rick. Thanks.

  • Loved this show! Had a crush on the "irrepressible" Ricky.

  • I just totally love and simply adore Ricky he will always be remembered as a teen idol but he will always be a legend

  • Simply beautiful version. What a talent. Thanks very much for this post.

  • Tracy was so cute she really loved her daddy you can see it on her face. I love his voice thanks to his family for sharing him all those years. may you have peace and happiness. Thanks for everything!

  • brilliant - nothing less

  • great ,clip and great song .

  • Merry Christmas Everyone...

  • same to u

  • Merci pour ce beau document.

    Ricky toujours aussi gracieux.

  • Its hard to believe he died ina plane crash on New years Eve....Forget the year, but never forgot my shock to hear it.

Ricky was sweet as a young man and sexy as he got older. RIP Ricky!

  • '85. I hope his family never has a sadder New Year's Eve.

  • He was like the worlds little brother.

  • (Luke 2:11 KJV) For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

(Luke 2:12 KJV) And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

(Luke 2:13 KJV) And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

(Luke 2:14 KJV) Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

  • So schön!

  • Hey! Hey!

    HAPPY CHRISTMAS!

    Zip x

  • MERRY CHRISMAS!!

  • sing it rickey

  • someone please post STRING ALONG

  • What a wonderful memory...it makes me cry...Christmas was truly different back them....glad I lived then.

  • I have to totally agree with Emibeth's comments, as I wipe a few tears from my cheek. Rick does a great job with Mel Torme's classic Christmas song and Ozzie did a great job directing the video.

  • Thank You for the member of my younger day,s.

  • Ricky Nelson forever!!

  • A talent taken way too soon.

  • Yes, it was Tracy- and if I'm not mistaken, this rendition of "The Christmas Song" was seen on the 1964 Christmas episode, as she was only a year old at the time.

  • I think that little blonde baby was Tracy Nelson.

  • That was Chris, Rick's first wife with that little blonde girl

  • Yes, Rick married Kris Nelson who was the daughter of famous All American, Heisman Trophy winner Tom Harmon. She is also the sister of Mark Harmon, the tv actor ( series NCIS).

  • OH how I loved this guy...look at those dreamy eyes. It is a shame. I loved John Denver too. Both ended up with addictions and dying in plane crashes. Two loving, sensitive men.

  • awesome!!

  • wow thanks for posting.I never saw this.can u imagine any other teen idol of the time doing this? I always thought rick should have done anxmas albumn

  • his voice is so clear and clean!!! i love it!!!!!!

  • Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. And the singing was good too.

  • Is the little girl Ricky's daughter Tracy? What a cutie!

  • Ricky Nelson = Most handsomest man to ever walk on the face of the Earth.

  • My son looks just like him...I swear!

  • Are you freakin' serious? I gotta see your son! That's awesome!

  • Ricky is my favorite vocalist to this day, and I truly love this song. AWESOME..

  • IS that not his brother David playing the husband/father

  • I love the late 50s, early 60s, and this is great - I must remember to play this on Chrismas Eve 2007!

  • so glad I found this - really touching and sweet

    such a beautiful voice

  • Thanks and God Bless your Christmas.

  • beautiful old song
