1) God dictates morality
2) God says slavery is moral
ergo 3) Slavery is moral

However, after relentlessly reading as much as possible about archaeology, geology, cosmology, astronomy, evolution, genetics, history, apologetics, etc. It is getting easier and easier to both consider and wear the moniker "atheist".
Yes, I believe that I am an agnostic. And like you, my background makes it hard for me to "go there" and say "atheist". I was a church leader, in three different areas specifically so I am heavily indoctrinated and the deconversion process is rather long and grueling and honestly very painful. Well therein lies one of the biggest problems with any theism that places emphasis on an afterlife instead of the current one.
It is *that* belief that enables the marginalization of any group in society that is at odds with biblical teachings (women, gays, etc).
More importantly, it is that same belief that enables the christian zealot to blow up an abortion clinic or a islam jihadist to kill himself or herself in pursuit of pleasing their deity or ensuring a better place in the "afterlife".

An honest search for truth is hardly an apt title for this work. I was quite disappointed as I wanted to see well laid out demonstration of biblical contradictions. Ignoring smaller bent interpretations and larger glaringly errs in what you claim the bible to be condoning, this video is irrelevant in disproving the bible as the internal logic can easily just say:
1) God dictates morality
2) God says slavery is moral
ergo 3) Slavery is moral
tl;dr: Your argument has an unwarranted inference.

You missed the point...
The point of the video is to demonstrate that you must accept the conclusion of your logical sequence (that slavery IS moral), if you are to believe the Bible is the work of a moral god.
The assumption is that a person would believe that slavery is immoral and thus believe the Bible to be somthing other than the work of a moral god.

However, after relentlessly reading as much as possible about archaeology, geology, cosmology, astronomy, evolution, genetics, history, apologetics, etc. It is getting easier and easier to both consider and wear the moniker "atheist".

Yes, I believe that I am an agnostic. And like you, my background makes it hard for me to "go there" and say "atheist". I was a church leader, in three different areas specifically so I am heavily indoctrinated and the deconversion process is rather long and grueling and honestly very painful. However, as I study and learn more, I am confident that eventually I'll be able to take that step. :-)

Theism is about belief and gnosticism is about knowledge.
I don't think you can prove a god does or does not exist which makes me an agnostic atheist.

This is why I have turned my back against religion because I realized "religion" is all about "hate, murder and racism" as recorded in the holy books.
