  • a part of me is dying!

  • awesome awesome awesome song!!

  • This song stands the test of time.Top notch all the way

  • This song is the epitome of what was wrong with the '70's.

  • @hugglescake fail

  • @hugglescake Yeah, who cares if it was a pretty good economy and there was no war and politicos behaved somewhat like adults, the 70's stunk because of music. Ever thought the that music was silly because there was nothing to make a commentary on. It seems, in retrospect, a small sacrafice for what was by far a better decade than any I've seen since.

  • @mabemabry

Overall the '70's economy was offal. Inflation and shortages were a way of life.

Being a child of that era I also thought the fashion was gross. Polyester still scares me.

The US was losing its way. Remember disco?

How about the British economy? If the EU had the open borders of today they did then, Britain now would be empty.

The 1970's: The decade that taste forgot.

  • @hugglescake But in retrospect, the 1970s were actually a high point. Yes, it was the beginning of America's decline (I don't really know about the UK), but it was only the beginning. Median family income (in constant dollars) and the American standard of living hit their peak in the mid-70s. Reagan made us feel better, but we declined as a nation all throughout the 1980s and have continued to slide up through today.

  • @mabemabry Erm what about the Vietnam War, the IRA, the endless terrorism? And wasn't Nixon in power? I like the 70s and the music but lets not pretend it was utopia.

  • 16 people have never banged a hot-ass MILF on the hood of their car on a dirt road in the moonlight while this car was playing on the radio

Is it true that 10cc and Lovin' Spoonful both got their names from describing male ejaculate?

  • @bassplayeroceanside

    Yes on the ejaculate.

  • @bassplayeroceanside

Well they say that's the average amount of the male O

  • holy shit man this song is such a classic and amazing song

  • i remember walking to school with this song buzzing in my head...great memories..and awesome harmonies...

  • It was very 70's nothing innovative at all but good background music for a sitcom.

  • <3 Nice <3

  • I miss fun songs such as this one.

  • You just don't get album art like that no more, sigh....

  • I was also 14 in early 1977 when this song hit the charts . this girl the same age in junoir high school had a crush on me and I fell for her . We used to walk in the rain and snow back and forth to junior high school together and she'd get mad at me when I wouldn't kiss her . But her folks told her that we should not get serious with each other because of our age and so , we were friends all through high school until she moved to Texas .

  • Flashback with this song. 1977, my mum stewing over the stove in the kitchen with the Vitamin C orange benchtops, dad coming home from work in the valiant charger and terry towelling hat. The portable PYE radio on the kitchen window playing this beautiful melodic song. All while I was a little 8 year old tacker. Long live the the 70s

  • i was 6 when this song came out.

In what movie one peuecouter this song?????????

  • I bought the album for this song years ago. When I finally listened to the rest of the album I realized just how good this band is. Deceptive Bends is one of my favorites, hands down, song after song.

  • After 43 years on Earth my companion is a bromeliad that stays in my kitchen. Had one before when I was a young boy in south Florida. It's funny the way life goes full circle sometimes. It's 30 odd years later and I think I want a dog.

  • A top ten tune of mine. Always will be.

  • no its the things men do for s*x

  • "Deceptive Bends" is one of my favorite all-time albums. Seek it out and buy it. You won't be disappointed. These guys (Gouldman & Stewart) are two of the most talented recording artists ever. No lie. If you find this album, you'll definitely "Feel the Benefit"!

  • This song seems a cross between styles of the Beatles/ELO/and Queen...wow 1977 i was 9 years old and remember this on the radio..besides all the disco stuff

  • This song is special to me because my parents said I would always sing this song at the top of my lungs when I was 3 and in the back seat of their station wagon.

  • Or, who cares? They both sound great.

  • Nice one. I was checking out LRB tonight and decided to listen to a couple 10CC songs. Maybe LRB has the edge in quality?

  • They Do sound like the Little Rivver Band,Im gonna look them up next.

  • i love 10 cc i wish they were still making music

  • Love this song!

  • Dear 10cc, thank you for being so bloody great

  • Their music is possibly on a par to Queen....? Amazing.

  • i never realized this was 10 cc! i thought they were a one hit wonder with 'i'm not in love', i was way wrong

  • they harmonize like LIttle River Band

  • I think I heard this album over 30 years ago at a highschool party

  • who;ey shit I didn't know this was 10 CC I love this

  • The thing i do for love is listin to the things we do for love. I just keep walking in the rain, storm and snow. I gues that soon summer will come!

  • when didn't anyone have a care in the world, before the Big Bang?

  • Another great headphones song...

  • @iamtoothewalrus headphones on and cranked up to 11

  • This band is named after the average amount of ejaculate a man expels during an orgasm. Just thought everyone should know that.

  • @wiz9496 I haven't heard any alternate theories so I'll go on your facts...don't make me look like a fool :)

  • @wiz9496 -which was also the meaning behind "The Lovin' Spoonfull"

  • @5point0 YUCK!

  • Well hello, childhood!

  • At 57 years me and my true twin flame came together again, after eons apart. We have much to learn from each other, ascending to higher and higher love-states.

  • @ckpeltomaa Fag

  • @bustedbit Cigarette?

  • @MondoMagic3000 No. As in you enjoy another man's dick up your ass. Ask your father, he can explain it better, when he isn't butt raping you.

  • @squidman22: Amen to that, bro.

  • I freakin LOVE this song!! Ahhhh the 70's.

  • I detest any and all modern day love songs. But these golden oldies I love.

  • @Medafets U said it! Totally agree.

  • 14 people didn't do "it" for love...lol

  • Omg best song

  • Reminds me when i was 10 years old.

  • @Rick102667 Me too!! Wow, Blast from past !!

  • @retrospect1983 Back in the day's when life was so simple and you did not have a care in the world.

  • I was 14 when this song came out & had only talked to this girl on the phone..her name was Jenny and I was sure I loved her & always would.. to the point I found my way to the southeast side of town I had never been to & was dropped off to go to her house and meet her for real! It was Jan & very snowy & cold & I can rem walking in 70s platform shoes no coat freezing. When I thought I got to her house..wasn't her house. Sucker for love. I have my love now though. Almost 35 years ago now. Wow.

  • @gws108 Awww! Cute story (love the platform shoes :0). Congrats on your 35 years. Don't see that a lot today either. Iv'e got 22 +. Take care.

  • @noalittleaboutlot Well I really never got to meet her.. Kinda bitter sweet. Thank you for sharing the time and the song with me. I wish I had more time with the lady thats mine now. I love that we all kinda still have a chance to appreciate.

  • @gws108 Fag

  • What do ya say to a great guy like this .. keep jerkin. At some point you will graduate from the 7th grade and realize there are more hands in the world than yours. Then again ... maybe not.

  • @gws108 i feel bad for you =/

  • @EugeniusR42 Dont feel bad for me.. it was such a bitter sweet time and memory and not a bad thing for me. I was naive and scared and not sure. I know it sounds pathetic .. some how the hurt and dumb stuff made me stronger. Thank you for takin time to read my post and sharing with me

  • @gws108 "some how the hurt and dumb stuff made me stronger"

and most of us can really relate to this....

What pretty much kills us...really makes us stronger.

  • @gws108 keep that first feeling of "Uncertainty" All you have to do is apply the wealth of feelings to all you have around you.

  • @gws108 I was 14 in '77 too. Like you, I was totally obsessed with my first love. Walked all the way to her house in the rain. Got there and she wasn't home. Thank goodness phases are temporary and I missed her that day, because she turned out to be a complete freak.

  • @gws108 I was nine and vividly remember singing this song. You see I am from Ohio, it was snowing real bad and all we could do in the house was put on a "talent" show so my Mamaw would say. Any how I remember this boy I had a crush on so bad that I sang this song for him Funny, at the young age of 9 how can you even grasp the meaning of this song? But it brings back good memories...Thanks for sharing. Shona

  • Love this song11

  • MY BELOVED 70S 16 YEARS OLD IN 77 1ST GIRLFRIEND,1ST ,,,,,,,,,,, 1ST DRINK,1ST TOKE,1ST MICRODOT,1ST LOVE,GOD WANNA GO BACK SO BAD,THIS WORLD IS EVIL AND TODAY ITS A JOKE,EVERYTHING IS TURNING TO SHIT

  • Very catchy song, sounds like something McCartney would write (a huge compliment).

  • My youth has been salvaged! Oh thank you!

  • as a songwriter myself who is deeply into hip hop/RNB.

this song is pure genius and catchy as hell. i am a huge fan of the 70's music!

i am no longer inspired by today's music so i now just go back to listen to 70's music.

  • I was 10 in 1977. Guess I'm an old bugger. LOL Love love LOVE the song, though, and always have ever since it came out!

  • How true is this still and always !!! My Brother used to say " I'd eat the corn out of her poop!" Ish! Yuk ! But love this song !

  • rw

  • me too

  • I was born in the eighties does that make me an old bugger?? :((

  • @GibbyGibbyGibb No no.. some of us still live after the 70's

  • Don't do much for love... but really motivated for lust...!!

  • @leeroynaggins That may be how it starts off, but as looks fade we do what we do for love!

  • I'm 28 years old and people don't realize the majority of music written in the 60's and 70's paved the way.......I try to turn everyone I can towards classic rock.....lol it's classic to me but I listen to this more than any of the "music" thats out now

  • @Darksideofthespoon69 You need to check out the new band Preacher Stone, they have the classic sound you are talking about and be sure and listen to their version of Come Together it's great!

  • @VanZantRox Exactly, BANDS are usually full of talent. It's the X Factor maunfactured crap that really annoys me to death. Because it's what sells. Good musicians are often overlooked. It sucks.

  • Awesome song!

  • GAY Timmy THE PICKEL BOY

  • Bardzo lubię tę grupę ..jak to dobrze ,że pamięta się o Nich ! Pozdrawiam !

  • commuication is the problem to the answer.... you kid no nothing.. go to bed

  • I was 75 when this song came out. Yes, I'm 110 now. Those were the days. Adult diapers were truly adult diapers, men were men, women were women and my children were only in their 50s.

  • @blanchelincoln What's your secret to living so long? I'm 19.

  • @blanchelincoln LOL. I think I've seen every type of comment now.

  • For me, it's the highly sophisticated harmonies that have always made this song something really special. There's almost a retro 1920's-type thing going on, sort of like some of the Beatles stuff off 'Revolver' such as "Here There And Everywhere".

  • Like walkin in the rain and the snow and there's nowhere to go....la la la la.....great posting. LOVE THIS!

  • Another great "story"album from start to finish. Good memories!

  • A much better, more innocent time in America to.

those were incredible days i will remember for a lifetime in so many ways. that's when cars were cars. and women were straight. and men were men. and we didn't take shit off anybody >;]

  • I was 15 when this song came out. God that was a great time to grow up. and music was so beautiful and awesome and meaningful. used to make out with my girlfriends with 70's music in the background.

    Priceless ! >;]

  • dido!

  • Great song! Sadly in my case its the things we dont do for love that we should do. But thats how it has always been.

  • Heard this in the car on the radio the other day, and couldn't wait to hear it again. So unbelievably catchy. Had a fantastic time in traffic jamming to it...

  • as a young adult in the 70's it was that everyone looked for oldies but i knew these were the oldies of the future. So we bought amps, the noise sucked! sucked! So we searched for the best scratch/pop/rumble filter cuz records were the most. Cassettes needed Dolby for noise and important such that music should sound clean. Now that the 2000's are here, the music is scratch/pop/rumble free but sounds worse than ever.

  • i'm 14, i was clearly born in the wrong generation, this music is so much better that the stuff today!

  • @LucyLovesIceCream yes the music is totally better, but could you kids live without your iPods, Computers, Internet, all the modern gadgets, think about it.....

  • @GibbyGibbyGibb indeed:) hm, i suppose we COULD live without it, but if i didn't have the internet or a computer i wouldn't be as smart as i am with them, also without a music player, sitting on the bus alone or on a long journey would be pretty boring :-)

  • I am having Major Flashbacks to this song !!!

  • Memories of a simpler time in life.

  • the music was so great back then

  • isnt it boss wen u hear a certain song it sticks with u the rest of ya life ,,

  • Hah hah, remember hearing this at my babysitters house back in 77 and 78, would get dumped off there after school for 3 hours.

  • top tune. simple but perfect.

  • so right the 60s and 70s best time in rock...young rolling stones and beatles rolling over the globe

  • I was born in '61 so this was my music & I really missed it until we got satellite radio with the 70's & 80's channels. My Dad taught my sister & me to love his music too. I'll never forget the day we came home from school & Dad was listen to a stack of our albums & loving our music too! Now my son & niece & nephew listen to our music & Dad's but hate the music out now! I tell them that they have great taste in music!

  • this is one of those songs that stick in your head after you hear it

  • i'm only 37 and when i pass kids with my subwoofer blasting elo queen 10cc etc its hilarious to see there faces

  • THE MUSIC IN THAT TIME IS IRREPLACEABLE!!!!!

  • I heard this at a gas station today. I've been trying to find this song since I was a freshmen in high-school over five years ago. As soon as it came on I didn't hesitate to listen to the lyrics. I had no clue it was by 10cc :P

  • I can remember playing on the swingset at my babysitters house when this came out....wow this brings out memories!! I always loved this song!

  • The only way to listen to the oldies on vinyl.

  • Great songs. As I have posted before, for us it was Newport Beach, circa 1977, driving the PCH, top down, us singing every word, the marine layer wafting into the car, Balboa to the West..Perfection!..We were so in love and still are 38 years (marriage) later...a special time and place.

  • Great vocal harmonys. Great song.

  • that sounds like my boo
