  • Michael became king that night!

  • You have to have a stone heart to not totally love this.

  • Closest anyone may ever get to a flawless performance

  • i'm sitting at my computer watching this with the two-year anniversary of michael's death looming and i wonder to myself what it would have been like to be michael jackson, the trade-off,no privacy and tirelessly trying to defend myself and my character,if he never became an entertainer to be just another joe schmo that no one ever payed any attention to.Damn i miss his energy, his talent.RIP

  • i want back to the 70's and 80's

  • This was his prime. Glad to have lived through it. He's almost the legend of legends.

  • The very first moonwalk..... Nough said

  • im crying

  • I'm listening to you, almost every evening on "you tube".... Michael, and I can't forget you...We were approximately the same age.... I was born in 1957. I could have seen you in concert when you went to France , several times ... but I didn't . I didn't know at the time (in 1983) , that you were such a Great Star ...The first album I've bought from you was: THRILLER. Now, I miss you so much. I've got all your albums . I love you ... for ever... and ever. You're ETERNAL.

  • this is MUSIC ,just cant beleive that gay bieber and eminem have more views tha mj,WTF

  • nowaday entertainers spend their entire lifes hoping for their careers to reach to a moment like this, they wear fancy dresses made of meat , videos, photos, social networks autotune EVERYTHING! and nothing will work just because they forgot the most important things to be the best at what you do TALENT HEART PASSION AND HUMILITY ! Michael always had this in mind and to impress the world he just needed a microphone and his voice! that is what makes him THE KING!

  • @sppoky If you're talking about Lady Gaga, MJ actually seemed to respect her, since she was going to open for him in This is It.

  • @LuiManEpyOn ehhh...soy chica jejeje...

  • I wish i was older so i could have seen him. I was to young and in school. He was HOTT looking up untill the BAD album, its a shame he PAID doctors to screw up his beautiful face.

  • I bet it was Joe Jackson that disliked this...

  • The single greatest live performance in American television history...

  • "especially. . . i like. . . THE NEW SONGS" - THAT'S THE LINE RIGHT THERE LOL

  • I miss you Micheal, You are the greatest entertainer of times! I never forget you.!!

  • this performance changed the music

  • No wonder he was called the king of pop. He was a good singer AND dancer.

  • @Bocaman134 have u just noticed ;) lol

  • I grew up with the jackson five and it was the best time of my life. Little did I know, Michael would become the most electrifying entertainer that has ever lived. They broke many barriers, and I am proud to say I was there to experience it. Jackson Five Mania was everywhere.Words cannot describe.Michael may be gone from us now, but he will live on for a long, long time. Some days I think about those wonderful times and just smile. Thanks for all the wonderful memories, love, forever and always.

  • Michael, Michael, Why Michael? Why all those surgeries? You were always handsome, anyways. Saludos, ERES EL REY!!! MICHAEL Saludos SouthAmerica!

  • michael changed the world by his music and dance moves like the moonwalk and the lean

  • best performence in the world

    and in the galaxy

we miss u michael soooo much:(

  • That dude just stood pop music and entertainment on it's ass for all time!

  • i think this one he was lip sycing but only this one

  • MJ WILL ALWAYS BE KING. NOTHING CAN CHANGE THAT!!!

  • Michael always seemed like he was floating on air.I imagine if anyone could do it,he's dancing on the clouds today....well its a nice thought anyway.

  • Oh God, I love it when he bites his lip like that! Love you Michael, and I always will, can't wait to see you! ♥

  • MJ is doind Playback in the Billie Jean xP

    Love u Michael xD

  • why the hell would you dislike this?

  • the birth of the king of pop, rock.that was it for michael jackson.he catapulted to the top after this performance.one of the most signficant performances in music history

  • rocopera@utube.com!

  • Ok so this was obviously around the time where he got Vilitigo i can tell he was a little bit lighter here. And plus he was wearing a Wig here or whatever that is. I dnt know if thats his hair or not but i'm gonna say this is the time after his hair got burned.

  • @superdude874 This performance was in 1983...the burn happened in 1984...the came year of the Victory Tour of Jackson 5....The vitiligo started showing up when he was about 21....one could see it when he perspired on stage and the make up came off...it was on his chest/arms as well....{Poor guy)

  • @ddchil41 yes he had vitiligio bcs. when I saw him on Disneyland with his nephews in 1985 he had white spots in his face & he used make up to cover them up. Poor Michael

  • @lorena4mj you actually got to see him live ???????

  • BEST. MJ. PERFORMANCE. EVER.

  • Perhaps the greatest entertainer this world has ever seen. We wont see someone like this ever again... cherish these moments and be thankful we have lived in his lifetime.

Picture a 100 years ago, our grand grand grand grand kids listening to Mike and being mesmerized.

  • @Hatinonthehaters You're 100% right. Nothing more for me to say.

  • @Hatinonthehaters our grand children from 100 years ago?

  • @youwatch2muchtv i said grand grand grand kids.

  • @Hatinonthehaters ...... you said our grand grand grand kids from long ago...

  • Doesn't this performance have to rank on the Top Ten Moments To Attend list for music? Motown makes the leap from amazing, respectable music credability to broad Pop appeal (mostly held back because of stupid, idiotic racial issues), and the explosion of commercial Pop music and the branding of Michael Jackson? Not to mention the litany of #1 hit songs Michael throws out after this performance. Amazing guy.

  • micheal is my brother

  • il a passé beaucoup d'heure devant le mirroir pour faire cette chorégraphie...son travail et son talent a donné ce résultat, il sera toujours le meilleur artiste...il a toujours été un perfectioniste...personne d'autre peux l'égalé...

  • homeboy u r miss there will be no other to do what he did thanks

  • I remember watching this show live in 1983..That moon walk will forever be etched in my mind...MJ was just spectacular! This is the Michael Jackson I will remember the most. RIP

  • I was a young USMC boot: In Oceanside in "83" training at ITS and watching at a naked girl dance at a non-alocholic beverage bar & I was a 19 year old virgin from Holbrook Az.

  • click on 3:46 best dance of all time

  • Michael Jackson is the best entertainer in my lifetime!!! Singer, dancer extraordinaire!

  • Michael was born in 1956!! Damn! You call yourselves fans?!

  • MJ 4EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • La historia es :

Jhon, Paul,George,Ringo y Michael. Sin dudas!

  • @natalexwolffluv123

    pretty sure he was 24

  • this is not d original audio....d guy who uploaded this has superimposed d original version over it....well man u dint fool me!!

  • no words to describe this honestly

michael Jackson is the second most famous human being who has ever walked on this earth. number one is jesus!

  • @mjlover12345 I agree!

  • @mjlover12345

Nope..Muhammed Ali was & is more famous than both of them, and for good reason.

  • gotta love when he just talks in the mic he's really shy then when he preforms he turns in a beast on stage!

  • Yo, being born in the 90's was cool, but I wish I was born the same day MJ was. I say that because I could follow is music every step of the way. He was... No scratch that, he IS a true legend. For all ages and races.

  • you cant beat perfection!! what made michael jackson such a star was the fact that he could do it and you just cant cant help but watch him. no has ever or will ever come close!!!

  • 1991 I despise thee as thy birthday... Wish I was born in like the 70's.

  • i wanna go back to the 1980s too

    *is so sad* :(

  • MICHAEL IS JUST THE KING NOTHING MORE TO ADD HE IS A TRUE PERSON MJ MY MAN AND THE MAN FOREVER THANKS MICHAEL!!!!!!!..............

  • i wanna live in the 80's!!!!!!

  • @kingofpop123456 just to listen to music?

  • @tuber9008x to watch this on real- time and expirence it!

  • @kingofpop123456 Only for the music. The fashion sucked!

  • @kingofpop123456 AMEN that was beautiful

  • I love how he looks around at 3:45

  • Thank you ppl of the 80's for help making this the biggest selling album of all time! And for making his songs #1! Because they were!

  • 0:03 OMG HOT!

  • superlatives fall short. he was amazing in every aspect of his art. his dancing was unique, inventive and spellbinding, his voice unbelievably versatile and expressive, his lyrics pure genius. his heart was in everything he did, he held nothing back. he is the king, incomparable. i miss him, but hey - look what an amazing legacy he left us.

thank you michael. i will always love you.

  • He is literally mesmerising. This was the peak of his life and the peak of music in the 1980's.

  • \I will ALWAY'S remember watching this live....I was riveted and I still am by his every move. But, it also makes me sad that there will never be another Michael Jackson in my lifetime. I especially felt this loss after seeing "This is it"....I never usually watch all the credits, but I am so glad I did with it ending with that ballet toe move..shimmering in silver.

  • i love youu

  • @mariadesireekassa i love you 2

  • how many entertainers can do this!!! michael displayed the same energy and passion to every of his songs.. and specially billie jean every time he was on stage!!! and make you feel the same electrifying feeling even if you were on 1983..or on june 24th 2009! michael was unic!! there will never EVER be anyone like him!! that's why he's a legend and the king not of pop... he's the KING OF MUSIC!!!

  • i will always luv you michael jackson for the bottom of my heart

  • I sure hate to be the group that went on after that

  • @DJCokNeeto lol you got that right!

  • Yep. Soon as he did that moonwalk on this show - that was it. He was already a 'Superstar', but this made him a 'Super-duper star'. I'm only sorry I missed this when it was on, live. The next day, my friend told me about it - he mentioned how cool J5 was, but was flipped out over MJ's performance, "He did this thing - it looked like he was walking forward, but was really moving backward...!". We didn't yet know it was called the Moonwalk. Great performance from this legend.

  • No will ever grace the stage and command such presence as this most spectacular man. Music flows through him and each move is so precise and full of energy. There IS NO ONE now who can leave audiences dumbstruck. Michael is the King and no one will ever take his title. Long live Michael's legacy.

  • One of the great moments in music. R.I.P. MJ

  • watching this makes me cry. I love you Michael. <3<3

  • Are you serious we'll never get entertainment like this again ever !

  • Fuckin awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OH...MY...GOD. He was soooooo HOT. This was a legendary moment. Whew I need some water lol :-)

  • MOONWALKER!!!!

first time that we see the moonwalk!!

    J5= Great

    Michael= I love it!

  • Fred Astair( a brillant old dancer) contacted MJ after this performance and complimented him on this very progressive and unique dancing?!? Love that the generations can appreciate true artistry!

  • I feel bad for him that starting here, Michael was about to reach the peak of his fame. Even though his fame never went down, he began to struggle with that commercial accident, then vitiligo, and media allegation that spread false and nasty rumors about him throughout the rest of his life; even after his death. The media is such idiots. But no matter what, he remained a superstar and still remains one. Michael, we fans know what you've been going through, but you will always be a legend. RIP

  • @JohnLennon813 As great as MJ was and surely still is....somewhere. Still not as famous as Jesus though John.

  • ppl was hype when he was bout 2 do billie jean. all i hear is ppl screamin "billie jean, billie jean" lmbo!!

  • He will never be forgotten. See you in Heaven, moonwalker

  • "Doctors" cut this beautiful kid's face off,and it was a "Doctor" that ultimately killed him

  • @brdog3

and none of it was his OWN fault?

  • @bobbie001 It was his fault brdog3 is just was of those people who are obsessed with mj in an unhealthy way. Michael chose to get dozens of plastic surgeries and he was a drug addict. I don't know why it's so hard for people to understand.

  • This was MJ at his peak. His career went into orbit after this performance.

  • IlOveyouu Babyy ♥

    forever & longerr ..

  • MICHAEL IS TRULY THE GREATEST ENTERTAINER OF ALL TIMES!!! God bless you for your contributions, your history making and for sharing your time and love with the world, Michael...we will LOVE YOU MORE forever!!!

  • "He went into orbit and he NEVER came down!" No matter what was said about him his true fans will love him forever! Love you MJ

  • he is the best singer of all times!

  • whoa whoa whoa whoa wtf did the hat come from!? O_O lmao

  • It's Michael Jackson, and you wonder where the hat came from? You obviously never knew he had super powers.

    K.O.P. Forever.

  • A very Sweet spirited Man.....

  • He inspires me... I always watch and I just stand up and dance like my heart tells me to do that!!!!!!!

  • he such a badass hes my hero

  • he's sooooo cute I LIKE HIM SO MUSH!!! fan 4 ever . i miss you...

  • imagine if the internet had been as prevalent in the 80s as it was now...imagine thriller all over everywhere, every link, webpage, advertisement, social networking site, videosharing site...it would've been mayhem! only michael can.

  • boah!!

    er ist fantastic!!

    Miss you MichaelJackson

  • you have to love michael he is just so cute lol. love foe michael always

  • At the time he was like23 or something and i dnt think he new what he was marking in the history books when he did that solo. At the time he was making thriller and his make up guy said he couldnt believe that the shy michael he was working with is the same guy from the night befire who did motown25. Man he was definetly in his prime. I just wish he would have retired and been a record executive but he got addicted to the fame

  • he will be missed

  • His moves are so on point. Man I'm gonna miss him. RIP to him and Wylie Draper who played him in the movie. They both will be missed!
