  • some bible verses tell slaves to be good to their masters. other bible verses encourage parents to hit their children.

  • The Bible has been used to support racism in the past, and continues to be by racist christian fringe groups such as the KKK. There are clear passages in the Bible condoning slavery and mentioning separate races which should not mix and some being inferior. The only reason Christians are reinterpreting it is to fit with current societal trends. Funny how they say the Bible never changes and its meaning will always stay the same yet now they are changing their stance on racism.

  • @carlsm95 give me an example in the bible. If u can't even do that ur just saying nonsense

  • @314violin How do you think Southern Christians justified slavery and segregation? The Bible condones slavery and even give specific guidelines on how to treat your slaves, such as Leviticus 25:44-46, Exodus 21:20-21, and 1 Timothy 6:1-2. And what about the Curse of Canaan and the Mark of Cain? Many whites thought this referred to black people. The bottom line is: The Bible can be interpreted and reinterpreted to mean anything you want it to. This book cannot have any less clarity.

  • @carlsm95 I agree with u that southern christians used verses to justify slavery but the hebrew translation also has the meaning, "servant" and the verses actually told the master to not be harsh and forceful towards their servants. and that's what the people thought not what the bible said

  • @314violin The bible also said that it was okay to beat your "servant" to death, as long as it took a while for him (or her) to die.

The best cure for your affliction is to read the bible. Really read it. For real.

    Genocide - Torture - Murder - Slavery - Cruelty - Injustice - Hate - Racism - Deceit - Incest - Absurdity - Bigotry - Ignorance - Selfishness - and just plain Stupidity.

After that, no rational, caring, loving person could ever believe what you do.

  • @dan91709 10 commandments eliminates murder. Racism, nope in the new testament it says we're one blood and in genesis said we are all descended from a human in the image of God.The Bible never said to enslave people by their appearance and like most civilizations took captive prisoners of war which was normal. Proverbs says a lot about deceit. Wow i think ur the person who's not reading the bible, levitcus says to not have sexual relations with relatives. I'll finish the rest...

  • @dan91709 In 1st corinthians it tells u about love. The bible never told u to hate ur neighbor as urself it told u to hate sin which makes sense. Darwin was racist one look at some parts of Descent of Man. Read 1st peter 3:15 and see how christians are supposed to teach.

  • @314violin Nonsense. The bible is rife with racism. Don't you recall Jesus saying that Jews were the chosen, but that others could have scraps that fall from the table? What about the old testament? Are you kidding? God killed people with pestilences because David didn't commit genocide as god "commanded."

As to Darwin, it would be best for you to READ Origin of the Species before spreading false witness. You not only make yourself look silly, as a liar, you're sinning against the holy spirit.

  • @dan91709 That really isn't racism read the rest of the gospel it says that the great comission for christians is to go preach around the world. And actually read what I typed, I said THE DESCENT OF MAN and the thing is there is only one race, the human race

  • @314violin I really don't have time to conduct a bible study for for a filthy liar.

Suffice that Canaan, son of Ham, and grandson of Noah, was "cursed" by Noah (Jewish and Christian traditions assigned the curse to Ham) making him the father of all African and dark-skinned Middle Eastern peoples; thereafter justifying slavery and sub-human status for them.

Your denial of racism and slavery in the bible is either ignorant or deliberate, but in either case pathetic.

    Again, Darwin was no racist.

  • @dan91709 The bible never said that africans came from Canaan and most arabs are descended from Ishmael

  • @314violin Galatians 4:28-31 "Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise. At that time the son born in the ordinary way persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now. But what does the Scripture say? 'Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman's son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman's son.' Therefore, brothers, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman."

  • @314violin Matthew 10:24 "A student is not greater than the teacher. A slave is not greater than the master."

  • @314violin 1 Peter 2:18 "Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh."

Colossians 3:22 "Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord."

  • @314violin An finally, here is the ultimate example of moral teaching from the bible:

Exodus 21:20-21 "If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property."

  • Prejudice must stop. But not against other religions aparantly

  • ... a clever take on a popular children's hymn; the emphasis on the words 'white' when there's meant to be 'red and yellow, black and white' definitely reveals the predjudice by skin color.

  • I commend you, uploader, for not disabling ratings or comments, which reflect the power of atheists today. There is no need to hide the fact that most people hate the truth.

And the girl's white. Europeans are pink.

  • The constitution says freedom of religion, which means that Christianity should not be in public schools. Why? Because if it was, then it is favoring one religion over the other(or no religion(atheism)), which in fact is unconstitutional. If you want to teach Christianity in school then also teach about Hinduism, and Wicca. I am a Christian, but I love my friends and humanity. No matter what religion you are, you are human and deserve to be respected, and have the freedom of this nation. :) <3

  • Support Christianity: own a slave.

  • i honestly dont get this... someone please explain what they mean?

  • Religion should be banned.

  • @MrCombineFaces How do you ban religion? Christians have never called for banning other religions. This is America where you're supposed to have freedom of religion.

  • The priests do too.

  • Leviticus 27:3-7 God places a dollar value on human life; with women worth less than men.

  • Your not defending your faith.. Christianity has prosecuted every other religion and race on this planet for the last thousand years, grow up.

  • Its funny how Christians think they are the Victims here but the Dark ages, George Wayne Patterson,George Tiller, Crusades, Inquisitions and the Genocide of American Indians and Jews is holy collateral damage

  • And the first step: ditch the obscenity f the bible. It's inhu

  • Yes it must stop, so let's put all those nice little religious American kids in a sweatshop in Indonesia.

  • Waaaa! Poor xtians. Some kid plugs her ears when another is singing some nauseating Jesus shit. Such persecution!

Ken Ham has got to be one of the most fucked-up individuals on the planet.

  • Yes, lie to the kids from a young age...braiwash them early...cause if they start to think for themselves, they will discover that AiG is not an answer to anything, but an organization dedicated to lying for Jeebus...see the website NoAnswersinGenesis.

  • This commercial is so bullshit even by commercial standards. Plugging one's ears against opposing views is most likely what creationist/die hard Christian would do since ignorance/arrogance is their best friend. The funny thing is Christians pretend to be the most discriminated group out there yet they have actually been the greatest perpetrators of discrimination throughout history.

  • she's only plugging her ears because the other kid's pitch is horrible...

  • @WinkStudios

Pascal's Wager is a dead horse that theists really should stop beating.

  • @leftygenius why is that?

  • @WinkStudios

Theists should stop advancing Pascal's Wager because it's a fallacious argument based on a false dichotomy (that dichotomy being 'either the christian god is real, or there is no god'). At first glance the wager seems reasonable, when I was a Christian I thought it was a great argument, but upon deeper examination it falls apart.

If you're interested, the video 'Betting on infinity' debunks Pascal's Wager more thoroughly than I ever could.

    watch?v=fZpJ7yUPwdU

  • @leftygenius very interesting video. I do realize it does make Pascal's Wager much more unstable. but I choose to believe with all my heart in the GOD of the Bible. My faith is not based solely on Pascal's Wager (I was a Christian long before I heard of the wager). Call me what you will, this is wear I stand. Thank you leftygenius, for not being like some of the explicitly rude people who comment. It is much nicer to message with you than those who decide expletives are the best way to debate.

  • @WinkStudios

You're welcome, I try to remain courteous until provoked haha.

    Nice talking (typing?) with you.

  • PART 1

Let's say there is this guy who believes in a religion (Christianity). He lives his life following the teachings of Christianity and does all he can to tell other people about what he believes. Then he dies and it turns out that God doesn't really exist. There is no heaven and no hell. He ceases to exist. What difference does it make what he believed or did when he was living?

*PLEASE READ "PART 2" OF MY COMMENT...*

  • @WinkStudios

    my reply to part 1:

"What difference does it make what he believed or did when he was living?"

To him, no difference. He's dead. But it certainly does make a difference to the people who's lives he impacted, whether positively or negatively.

  • @leftygenius but when those people (who he impacted) died, what difference would it make? The people THEY impacted would be affected, but we could go on and on... yet it still wouldn't matter when they died.

  • @WinkStudios

Once everybody is dead nothing matters, because nothing happens when you die. The universe will go on until it's eventual heat death due to continuing expansion. I'm okay with that, I'm perfectly content to enjoy my life while I have it and try to help others enjoy theirs. I don't need to believe humanity was created special or has an overarching purpose in order to give my own life purpose

  • @leftygenius

Until its* eventual heat death. Stupid apostrophes.

  • @leftygenius are you 100% sure you are right? is there no way you could possibly be wrong? it would sure stink if you were.

  • PART 2

Now let's say that there's this guy who doesn't believe in God or any religion. He firmly believes that there is no heaven and no hell. He does all he can to help others believe the same. Then he dies and finds out he was wrong. There is a heaven and a hell. He'd be in trouble.

  • @WinkStudios

    my reply to part 2:

    "He'd be in trouble"

Why would he be in trouble, simply for not believing in god? Disbelief in religion doesn't automatically make you a bad person. If good people are sent to hell simply for not believing, who could praise a god who did such a thing?

  • how about stop lying to children about bullshit religion

  • Theres nothing more prejudice than the bigoted homophobes who created this website

  • Stop prejudice. Ban Christianity.

  • Answers in Genesis: "Stopping prejudice" by poisoning minds.

  • Stay away from my children you mind killers.

We love with our hearts and think with our heads.

Hopefully some day there will be no more respect for people who think with their hearts and let a foolish new version of an ancient superstition and wishful thinking rule their lives.

I pity you for your pea brains.

  • HYPOCRITES!

  • I like this commercial. It says, "If you believe in God, make fun of Asians." Again, real nice.

  • Not at all. If a person truely believes in God then they believe what God teaches and surprisingly to many who don't believe in God, Christians believe that all the differen't people in the world came from 2 people, Adam and Eve. There is only one race.

  • Adam and Eve in itself is a discriminatory fairy tale. The entire story is, "God makes a man. The man is perfect. Man gets horny, needs property to f***. God makes woman so Adam can (basically own her). Woman screws up, humans are evil, and women are the ones that screw everything up.

  • im confused, is this saying christianity is a white supremacy sort of deal?

  • no it is not. but many christians are still prejudiced and need to desist.

  • Jesus loves the little children

sounds like a pedophile to me...

prejudice isnt gonna stop especially from a system that was founded on prejudice and hate

  • what is she singing?

  • Jesus loves the little children.

  • no, the 2nd bit "when then why the......"

  • she's saying, "White, and white and white and white..."

  • The only way Christianity is able to survive is that parents mind washes there kid. And tries to make it political incorrect to debate the issue.

  • Prejudice against Christians? When it's you guys calling evolutionary scientists "stupid", and imposing your views on our laws and society? Hypocrites. FAIL FAIL FAIL.

  • we're not being hypocritical. Christians are often called worse. While some may call scientists "stupid" I believe they're not. I personally do not agree with their world view.

Also, Secular Ideas are imposed on people daily. Is there a problem if someone says homosexuality and abortion is wrong Or that there is a God? That is one's personal opinion and belief.

  • @AdrenalineAddict610 just because Christians disagree with evolution, doesn't mean they think that evolutionary scientists are "stupid"

  • Dude, they marked you as spam.

That's fucking low, not to mention a terrible way to get your point across.

  • Spam, well bummer. and thanks for replying to this! I had forgotten what video I put this little thumbs up/down game on. Glad to see it at +2.

  • Fact is that christians do not have the right to force thier beliefs on you but you are just as wrong to force athetist views on them. A total removal of all religous thought from government would esentualy be catering to the minority while ignoring the ideas of the majority.

  • Wrong.

Removing a single religion (Christianity) from government will cater to ALL religions AND atheists by giving ALL religions AND atheists the freedom to express their views and beliefs.

The bill of rights GIVES people rights while giving a single religion exclusive rights in government TAKES rights away.

  • So you actualy think that by supressing a thing, you are giving it more freedom?

    shades of 1984.

  • You don't read what I'm typing.

The first amendment, which gives freedom of religion and speech prohibits a single religion to get too much power to stop it from surpressing all other religions or lack thereoff.

It's like living in a muslim country like Iran where you as a Christian have to abide by their laws because they are the majority.

The US protects EVERYBODY from having to subject themselves to religious restrictions of ANY type.

  • We arent forcing atheist views on them. We are imploring they become more secular and tolerant. Seperation of Church and State is a must, its a secular and politically correct idea. Majority only rules in votes. All people rule in freedom.

  • SIGScienceISGod, seperation of church and state is this: The government cannot establish a Stae Religion or favoring one over the other. The church is allowed to have an influence in the government since the poeple are CITIZENS. However the churchs are prohibited from, for example, favoring one candidate runnign for a government office. They can, however, discuss certain social issues of the day anywhere (freedom of speech).

  • So Christians are oppressed if little kids dont want to hear yur preaches and be "saved"? Thats oppression? Stop expecting to get the high ground free from all criticism and disbelief, wow, seriously.

  • god loves everyone except faggots, niggers, camel jockeys (hey, don't look at me, this is based on all the "persecuted" Christians I saw protesting near my house during last years elections.)

  • That is a complete lie and you know it.

  • Yeah. I guess it is a lie.

Hey, will you give me some money for my imaginary friend? NO really! He is real, and he says he'll protect you and watch over you. What do you mean you need proof? Ha! How about you first try proving he DOESN'T exist!!

Now, can I have some money for my friend? He loves you and me and everybody! I need to buy a huge barn so that my friends and I can praise his coolness.

    ....

Oh shit, see that? See what I did up there? Now THAT is a lie...

... And you know it. ;-)

  • Christians: the persecuted majority.

  • What the actual f**k ?

    These commercials are very confusing.

  • this doesn't make sense at all, I don't know anyone who sings a song saying white and white and white, these people are crazy

  • its suppose to be red and yellow black and white, and there saying white and white and white and white because there against racism.

  • AIG: Starting with us.

Much shorter and straight to their point.

    ...

  • lol, aren't creationists the ones who are prejudiced against gays?

  • totally correct.

  • No. They just say that gay sex is against thier religon and do not accept gay marriage because of that religon. In a free country they are allowed to believe that without your oppressive need to destroy that thought.

  • They can believe it, just stop trying to do away with it in society, and ignorantly stating intolerance to other views. They expect to get the high ground of sovereignty and authority. Religion needs to be more secular and tolerant! (Secular means basically tolerant and social equality)

  • This ad means the Christian majority is prejudiced against. Wrong.

  • Ohhhhhh, now I get it. Asian girls worship satan.

Thanks Answers in Genesis! You've opened all our eyes to the truth!

  • And they think they are prejudiced against.

  • Jesus loves the little children...except the ones he kills with childhood diseases.

  • @nashmj it is because of MANS sins that there is so much pain and suffering in the world. God originally created a perfect world, but humans messed it up.

  • @WinkStudios the bible says that our sins caused it but it was actually eve that ate the fruit and it also says that god PLANNED EVERYDAY OF OUR LIFES so he planned this to happen.

  • @patrickledford420 Not exactly. The Bible says that God cannot cause evil to happen. It is very clear in the Bible that God cannot cause someone to be tempted to sin. Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. -

    James 1:13 (NASB)

You would also like 1 Corinthians 10:13

  • @GreenSlugg in the bible it also says that god is the creator of ALL things INCLUDING evil so yeh, maybe you should stop cherry picking and accept all of it, oh wait, you cant accept contradictory statements both as fact lol

  • @GreenSlugg yes, it does actually

  • @patrickledford420 Evil is the absence of good. If you are going to claim things about the Bible you should really back it up.

  • @joshmc6 so good is the absense of evil? you make no sense, evil is the opposite of good, and god created it according to the bible

  • @patrickledford420 Can you please show me in the Bible where it says that God created evil? That would be great if you could back that up. God created in Genesis 1-2 and it says that everything was good, Man wanted to be like God and took of the fruit forbidden of them. By doing so they left what was good and entered into evil. You see the progression of sin as God(God is good) is not in the mist of them, when cane kills able (gen 4). Then later on gen 6:5 man was completely evil, w/o God

  • @GreenSlugg

"The Bible says that God cannot cause evil to happen."

Your book actually says he created evil, he thinks of evil (thoughts)....and acts it out......your god created satan, knowing full well the consequences of his actions when creating him and what would entail...thus only a evil person or a not all knowing being would do this

.."that God cannot cause someone to be tempted to sin."

And the spirit (which is your god, as he is a spirit) lead jesus to be tempted

  • @GreenSlugg

    Abraham was also tempted

But then its a man made book...if you would like to be free from your indocrination of your absurd book...I can help you

  • @nashmj Since they are in heaven with him free from disease and in a place where he "wipes away every tear" I don't know how you can say that.

  • Who would Jesus waterboard?

  • Conservatives and indeed people who call themselves "Christian" are the most judgemental, prejudiced people on earth. What the hell does this ad mean anyway?

  • aig: "prejudice must stop"

aig: "atheists WILL KILL YOU DEAD, AND ARE INHUMAN MONSTERS"

  • aig:Yep, but only prejudice against us

  • Creepy, but not nearly as creepy as the last one! I am not sure where you're going with this commercial. Is that little asian girl being made fun of? Perhaps because she's not christian? No! Maybe it's because in order to be good at science and get good grades like an obedient asian should, you have to excel at science, which means that she has to learn evilution! That's why she's sad isn't it!?! I figga'd it out!

  • She looks eerily like my cousin at about 0:10.

My cousin doesn't believe in God either ;) .

  • Very classy.

"Prejudice must stop! And when everyone accepts Jesus, is heterosexual, and believes in creationism, we won't have any reason to hate people anymore. Problem solved!"

  • Sometimes my butt iches. Why is this, god.

  • This ad is concentrated irony in video form. I love it.

  • "prejudice must stop"

Coming from an organization that mindlessly equates homsexuals to racists (not seeing the cartoon-like irony in that)

Yeah prejudice must stop, unless of course its prejudice you promote.

  • I honestly don't understand what this ad is trying to achieve. Especially when I hear "...all the children of the world. White and white and white and white..." at around 0:07. What the hell? No wonder the NON-WHITE kid was plugging her ears. She wants out of this commercial for AIG-brand Jesus.

  • what a crap!!!! how americans can tolerate all these fucking ridiculous adverts that go on tv???? i m so glad i live in UK and i dnt have to put up with all these stupid advs

  • "Prejudice must stop"

Yeah here's a good suggestion for a first step: end religion.

  • Whichever media company pitched this campaign should be taken out back and beaten with playground equipment.

  • Aww. If my little daughter plugged her ears out of disgust for a song about Jesus, I would find that so fricken adorable!

  • Is THAT the point of the video? That it's a Christian song and them heathen Asian Buddhists hate Christianity? Would've never figured that out, thanks:).

  • @Jacksnow19 That's terrible.

Jesus is your Lord, and so is he mine.

  • AIG makes me sick. you guys are so revolting

  • laughing at people who believe stupid shit isn't prejudice, it's humorous justice

    Been

  • Ad needs more guns.

  • Prejudice must be stopped. Please donate to the Republican party without delay. You can also start by eating some sausage.

  • This is a much better video than the other one, but honestly it can be too easy misinterpreted by people who are anti-Christian or anti-Religion.

  • yeah right indoctrinate those children

there's soooo much prejudice against christians, like, if you admit you're a christian, you're not sociable any more /irony

  • The ad is saying that Christians need to stop harboring prejudice, not that Christians are victims of prejudice. The little girl hears "white and white and white" and feels excluded, and this ad is saying that Christians should try to fight that. I would say it's a respectable message. That being said, I'm an atheist.

  • Yes, I totally agree prejudice needs to stop with Christians first.

  • Your video is breathtaking in it's hypocrisy. You say "prejudice must stop" and in the other video say "If you don't matter to god, you don't matter to anyone" with a child pointing a gun at the viewer.

    You people are sick.

  • This commercial doesn't make any sense and is ham fisted in it's execution. Fire your director.

  • because there's never been a faith based racist organization

  • Answers in Genesis: Prejudice must stop. It is bad. And for this reason we have decided to be extremely prejudiced against other Christians who believe in an old earth. We will make movies and write books against them. We will travel around the country and give talks against them and post articles against them.

Answers in Genesis needs to stop their prejudice against other Christians before they start trying to fix prejudice elsewhere.

  • I still can't figure out why you Christians care. If God wanted you to have evidence or to be able to prove your case he would have provided you with what you needed. Instead he set up an international kabal of highly educated people who for hundreds of yrs have risked their lives and devoted their careers to misleading people away from God! Get real! If it was true why wouldn't science say that it was. The truth is the only answer of consequence. We all know it. Wake up!

  • AIG seems to have a problem with identity. They want to be a science museum (actually pseudoscience) and the moral police all rolled into one.

  • ...?!

  • Jesus loves the little children?

"And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt..."

    -Exodus 12:29

    Yeah...I see that.

  • Stop twisting the Bible, Friend. If you don't understand things better keep quite. Ignorance is not bliss. Jesus did love the children open the NT and read the GOSPELS. If you don't get it Christians are not bound to what the Jews THOUGHT God did; on the other hand the symbolism of Christ's sacrifice and its application to us is evident in the Exodous story but without God's Spirit we read but we do not see.

  • The whole point of AiG is defending the OLD TESTAMENT and here you are complaining that I'm quoting the OT instead of the NT when rebutting them. If they can use the OT as a source then I can damn well use it to rebut them.

The rest of your message is hocus pocus bullshit.

  • Haven't you ever wondered why Christian led the anti-slavery Movement (Quakers, Methodists), why Christians led the first feminist movement (Quakers), why Christians led states with equality for all (William Penn, Quaker), why Christians for the first 4 centuries and later Quakers, Mennonites, etc. were and are against war and the death penalty (Greek Orthodox, Quaker, Mennonites, etc.)?

  • "Haven't you ever wondered why Christian led the anti-slavery Movement"

LOL! You mean like the Southern Baptist Convention, founded for their convictions of white superiority and a desire to keep slaves?

Regardless, the actions of specific christians does not effect what the bible says. It is biblical literalism and inerrancy which AiG defends and it is that which I challenge.

  • Get serious I mentioned specific denominations QUAKERS, METHODISTS, etc. not as individuals but as GROUPS.

  • You are acting like the OT is irrelevant and only the NT matters, which means you ignore Jesus when he said:

"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."

    -Matthew 5:17-18

  • The verse in the Greek text (and please spare me ignorant comments on how I know it was in Greek, look up an encyclopaidia) actually reads: "Do not think that I have come to destroy the law and the prophets: I have come to do what they said I would do. I say in Truth to you that nothing will change untill all things said about me have happened". While dying on the Cross Jesus said "It ended" referring to this, how do I know? The curtain of the temple was cut in halph, the old law ended.

  • And let's not forget Jesus scolding the Pharisees for not executing their disobedient children as ordered in the OT:

"But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death."

    -Matthew 15:3-4

YOU are the one who is twisting the bible. You ignore what it really says and fall back on this "God's Spirit" bullshit to justify it.

  • You are a regular Bible twister and a not "highly skilled" one either. Copying silly and ignorrant things arrogant people wrote. Lear to read things in CONTEXT. 1. That happened before the Law ended in Christ (death on the Cross). 2. He was rebuking them of hypocrisy not of not killing children. Learn to use logic. A preacher who taught to LOVE OUR ENEMIES would never support killing children.

  • "1. That happened before the Law ended in Christ (death on the Cross)."

Wrong. Go back and read Matt 5:17-18 again to debunk your claim that Jesus destroyed the old law.

"2. He was rebuking them of hypocrisy not of not killing children."

He was rebuking them of the hypocrisy of claiming to follow God's laws yet refusing the execute their children.

You babble on and on about context but as usual hoping to wave away the problems, but you have utterly failed to address the issues.

  • Mtt.5:17-18 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.". . "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost" (John19:30).

  • Key phrase: "Till heaven and earth pass"

Tell me, have heaven and earth passed away or, or is the earth still here?

  • "Heaven and earth" refers to the old world, the world before the Messiah. Jews had separated the world into that before and after (see. John L. Bray, Matthew 24 Fulfilled). Also the verse from 2 Cor.5:17 answers your question. For a Christian everything has become new.

  • "the new heaven and new earth" is the Church period. This is why there was a resurrection of some when Christ died, "And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many" (Mt.27:52-53).

  • Not so, themistoklisp. The NEW HEAVEN and NEW EARTH are refering to the time when chrst recreates a perfect world. not the church age as it is now.

  • Is this a joke? Answers in genesis complaining about prejudice?

I've seen Ken Ham, leader of answers in genesis, giving a talk in which he bashed homosexuals.

    Physician heal thyself.

  • "I've seen Ken Ham, leader of answers in genesis, giving a talk in which he bashed homosexuals."

He lent support for legislation in Australia that was designed to take lands from the aborigines.

  • Do you have a reference for this? I can't find any info about it on the net.

  • Yes, prejudice must stop: Racism: "...ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel." -Exodus 11:7 Sexism: "For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man." 1 Corinthians 11:8-9 Homophobia: "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination." -Leviticus 18:22 So let's leave barbaric mythologies in the past where they belong.
  • exactly

what more can i say to that

what you say is 100% true

the question still remains; WHY DO WE CLING TO THIS SHIT?

  • Exodus 11:7 says what Jews thought. Both prophets, Isaiah and Amos, say that God is the God of ALL people not just Israel.

1 Corinthians 11:8-9, taken out of NT context since in other parts Paul makes clear that men and women are equal.

I am amazed how people take Scripture out of it's own context, out of Historical contect, out of symbolic context -- just to make it look bad. Pathetic indeed.

  • "Exodus 11:7 says what Jews thought."

Nope, it was Moses speaking for God to his people. Exodus 11:4 makes this clear. It is YOU who have a problem with context.

"...in other parts Paul makes clear that men and women are equal."

If it indeed says that (I have yet to see such passages) then you have a contradiction.

"I am amazed how people take Scripture out of it's own context"

And I'm amazed how christians throw the word context around as if it could explain away all the bible's problems.

  • My message got lost... Anyway... AiG instead of trying to prove that the OT is literal (which is heresy) should act out what Jesus taught and help the poor, visit the sick, etc.

"For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ" (John 1:17). I am a Christian not a Jew, I am under Truth and Grace not the law of Moses!

"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all ONE (EQUAL) in Christ Jesus" (Gal.3:28).

  • You claim to follow Jesus yet you reject what he said in Matthew 5:17-18 which clearly says you *ARE* still under the law of Moses.

    Ye hypocrites!

  • You are a hypocrite and twist Mt.5:17-18. "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled." See the answer: "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (2 Cor.5:17).

  • Jesus said that both Law and Prophets are fulfilled in Him. When I fulfill the purpose of something that does not contine apart from me. The verse you bring says the OPPOSITE to what youi ignorantly claim. The old earth has passed away for a Christian (2 Cor.5:17). Furthermore the proof that you don't knpow what you are talking about is the rest of Mt. chapter 5. There Jesus actually CORRECTS the law. "For the law was given BY MOSES, but grace and truth came BY JESUS CHRIST". (Jhn 1:17).

  • Sorry for the typos.

  • People's New Testament "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets. The preceding verses were so opposed to the teachings of the scribes and Pharisees that some might assert that he was a destroyer of the law. He replies that he has not come to destroy it, but to fulfill".
