I think the weirdest part of this game is that it takes place in Oslo, Norway. It is very confusing since most of the characters have English names instead of Norwegian ones. Oslo is a metropolian city and haves many nationalities that can explain why their English people but still it feels like bad writing. CT2 should have started in the UK and then the characters go to Nor.

BTW listen to the English dialogue in the next CT game. The acting was much worse.

That's because Capcom got the rights to it, so they decided to change it up. Eventually, they made Haunting Ground, which is considered the spiritual successor to the series. It mixed a lot of elements of the old games with parts of Clock Tower 3. Personally, Haunting Ground is one of my favorite games.

Definitely agree with you on that. Part of the appeal of Clock Tower is how the main character isn't meant to be a fighter, they're supposed to survive using their wits.

If I'm not mistaken, Haunting Ground was, in fact, supposed to be a Clock Tower game, but they changed the title. While I admit it has nothing to do with the other games story-wise, the gameplay was truer to those, and I fell like they should have called it Clock Topwer 3 instead of the other one with Allysa.

You're probably right about that. As a guess I think they probably changed the name from say, Clock Tower 4 to disassociate it with Clock Tower 3 since it wasn't exactly a great game.

I only survived for less than 1 minute playing Jennifer. After the Scissorman came, I ran inside the building, enter a door and stupidly hide in one of the toilet stall. The sound of scissor came closer, the door opened, and the Scissorman cut off my neck! :(

Then I realized that I MIGHT HAVE TRIED to escape by hitting the Scissorman with a mop, but I was too scared to try again. :( :( :(

Actually, the first Clock Tower was made for the SNES. And the story centered around a Schoolgirl who goes on a vacation to this Mansion. The PS1 CT1 is a sequel of that.

well it was during the time when games were starting to carry the ESRB Rating and it could have been released for the SNES but it got censored like crazy just like with mortal kombat also for SNES got censored.

so i think the director kinda got fed up with trying to get the game here in the US and UK so it is only possible to play it through emulators or an import version of the Playstation version of Clock Tower on the SNES.
