It's important to never judge another person by their choices of action or lack of action to finding their inner truth. The ones always in search, even if they never attain the state of enlightenment, are the ones that inspire those with no idea where to start to find themselves. They are the medians to the disconnected, and to the ones that have found true inner peace.
The vision quest is not found in nature just anywhere, nor in society that we know, nor can it be brought in to our every day environment.....a true vision quest can only be obtained by stepping out of the reality that we've learned to control and manipulate to our comfort, our everyday lives, and taking a leap into a world completely unknown.
Only when you're stripped 100% of your ego: of your tools for living, and of your comforts, your style, your treasures that you've collected throughout life, your money, your security, your friends and family, and you're in a world where no one knows you, and you HAVE NOTHING, only then will it be possible to begin the journey to learn again. This will never happen overnight. Like a diamond, it takes time and pressure to create this state of awareness;) It takes ABSOLUTE SACRIFICE,
not to do better, but to have and know nothing, so that you can truly understand what it is to live without that which you know now. Only then can you know pure empathy, only then can you know what LIFE is really all about, only then will you be one with nature in every possible aspect - nature of life and nature of humanity.
@clubtour It would be using the information given from the vision quest to create an environment in alignment with that information. Then you'll be on your way to the next step.. total... re-integration!
You are just like those people you rebuke, except you have a higher resolution on your perception of reality. If you were to discover some other technology that could take you as much higher from where you are with respect to the guru people compared to where you're at currently, you would see this with the clearity that I see you. Sure, the vision quest needs to go on, but what's to fuel it when there are no more emtheogenic external implements that can facilitate that function?
@clubtour if you run out of carrots--which we need for vitamin A what do you do? you go and find some seeds. what about vitamin C. If you dont eat it you can get scurvy---etc etc, you make effort to get them. Why should this be different with psychedelic food? Except you wont need to eat it as much.
You can easily see through the limitations of feelings of bliss and of believing oneself to have found the truth through following e.g. a guru, yet you're blind to the fact that the centeredness and stillness you exhalt as the real thing, just takes you up so many degrees (or dimensions or levels), but fundamentally does not differ from the limitedness of guru-facilitated pseudo-enlightenment.
No, going to the plants and nature is simply an extension to the idea of going to people. It will surely get you so much longer, but not all the way. If your intention is attaining to the knowledge and conversation with your Higher Self, any other path than focusing inwards is simply another ruse.
I think I understand now what you were saying. I think I'm getting closer.

What can fuel the vision quest into your daily living in your everyday environment? Don't you know?
