well of course the textures and graphics are going to look better, the saturn version is over a decade old.

but graphics do not make a game, they can only enhance it, and most of the things added to the Wii version take away from the experience in my opinion. Plus there is the nostalgia factor, the Wii version really cant live up to my childhood perceptions

Wish I had this because I've played the wii one (could be better) but the virtul console dosn't have it and i don't have the sega console for it either nor the game cartiridge. And at the time of its realse (if wikipedia is to be belived) I was only three woudn't start playing video games to I was 10!

Nightopia takes place in a world that is created from our dreams. its less they 'find' it and more they become 'aware' of it. It's stated in both manuals that Nights is the reason why they become 'aware' of this world. Nights sees the potential for the Fifth Ideya in both of them, and recruits them to help it put a stop to Wiseman, whom has trapped Nights for its betrayal. Yes, dear reader, Nights was once one of Wiseman's henchmen.

@NiGHTSPeachkirby he did have help. He and his friends were playing when the asshats showed up. Those three stole the court and pwned them with mad skillz. Elliot and the others felt like crap cause they got schooled so hard. the Openings show the nightmare versions of what happened in the actual day prior.

Wiseman: Lord of Nightmares. his goal is to rule both Nightopia and his own realm. the Ideya are needed for that. Claris: She has nightmares of her failure to face the judges the day prior to the first "dream". She made it but she pussed out in the spotlight. Elliot: nightmares of his being shown up by upperclassmen. Feels like a failure, unable to play on their level. seems to be team leader of his little group.

@ojendo12 there's a japanese remake on the PS2. the menus are generally in english so it's easy to get into. graphics are slightly revamped. still good as before.

Good video. but the pronunciation errors made me cover my face with my desk. XD NiGHTS was trapped due to his lack of loyalty to Wizeman. The green Ideya is for growth, by the way. Though I think that could be swapped interchangeably with wisdom, as wisdom is gained by growth...

I got the descriptions of the Ideya straight from the manual. and it says Green is wisom so thats how I describe it. As far as the story behind Nights and wizeman it has ben rehashed so many times I no longer care. Because the only real info given in the manual from the same page as the descriptions is that Nights is the only one not under wizemans power

@Shana007 The meaning of the Green Ideya changed between games. In NiGHTS Into Dreams it represented Wisdom but in JoD it was growth. So you're both right.

@TwilightFreeFaller nah it was always growth. if you notice, in NiD especially the worlds (like Spring Valley) have little taglines. They changed it and a couple things in the american manual from the original japanese, which explained things a bit clearer. It really does make much more sense though. Wisdom isnt...open enough. it's not enough of a concept. Growth on the other hand, is much more so. So it fits better with the theme of what the Ideya represent.

Actually I read up on it and the reason the red ideya can't be stole is that Nights was made to take the red ideya and betrayed Wizeman. Then Reala locked knights in the ideya palace that you find him in.

Where did you read that, because the nights into dream manual says "the fifth and rarest of the dream energies, bravery (red in color), is the only type of energy wiseman and his henchmen cannot steal.

And the wiki says that the red ideya is the only thing that allows nights to be freed from the ideya palace.

As for the Saturn game, I never got an A on the construction stage. That stage is quite a thing.

Yeah I have played the wii version and was not impressed, they botched a lot of things to try and make a narrative that dosent fit. along with voice acting which in this case hurts the series. They did however get the music fairly well done. Maybe I will give it a second chance in the future
