Hahahaha, so much drama on these comments. I have a gun and it dosen't matter what anybody says i am not giving it up. Hahahaha i laughed even harder at the bank giving free guns.
@partygirl209 Apparently common sense never enters your goddamn mind. Who the hell is going to rob a bank that is also a STOCKPILE OF GUNS? That means every single banker is packing a weapon, not to mention civilians who happen to be carrying. You pull a gun out in a bank like that and you're going to get your head blown off, if you don't get arrested and beaten first.
@partygirl209 You're fucking retarded. Why the hell would anyone rob a bank with a fucking STOCKPILE of guns? A bank where many (if not all) of the customers and investors own a (most more than one) a gun? Who the fuck do you think would hold up an institution where EVERY new client is armed while still inside the building? On top all that, the state (MI) allows carrying of concealed firearms (with permits, of course).
Robbing this bank is a death wish. Fucking idiot, think before commenting.
When Michael Moore went into the bank to open up an account, to get a gun, we all knew "the gun over the counter" was fake. BUT THAT IS NOT THE POINT. The point is: in America, you can get a gun from opening an account. In other countries you get a Piggy bank. Do you see the difference?
@FredrikLNielsen Negative captain. He was given a voucher to go to a gun store and go through all the other background checks and get the gun. There is not a single problem with that.
What's the difference? I've seen toasters, cash back, and other swag offered for opening an account with various banks. They offered a voucher for a rifle from licensed firearms dealer. Provided he passed all the checks, he got a rifle. If he didn't he had a worthless piece of paper.
@ArmTriangleChoke They may sell semi-automatic firearms, lots of places do. A far cry from fully automatic, and a far cry from what the fat fuck Moore wants you to believe. Fun fact: You see how he walks out with a gun in this video? Editing trick, he had to go through the same background check and everything, and that took him a few DAYS, and the dumbfuck edited that bit on at the end to look like he just walked out with it. He is a lying liberal pig.
@Speedogg138 Its edited to make a point. Security checks are a joke. when you give an indivual a gun anything can happen. Your putting another deadly weapon among the general public. The US is fucked. Not that Canada is that m,uch better but at least our banks arent handing out killing machines...
@Viperplayer187 Killing machines? My God, and you dumbfucks call America stupid. Worth a good laugh though. :) Every time a dealership sells a car it is another deadly weapon in the hands of the public, AND one that kills thousands of times more people each year.
...really? All mine must be defective then. All they do is sit there. I'm fairly certain they've never killed anyone, I mean I think I'd notice if my gun were to suddenly turn around and shoot someone.
Lemme go check.... Mmmm, nope, still not killing anyone.
That is messed up. He makes it look like he just walked in there, opened an account & walked out with a gun. He edited it to make it sound like they keep the guns at the bank. They don't. He lied to the bank about what they were doing & the bank made exceptions for Moore. The guns are kept in a vault at a diff location, the bank gives a coupon so people can pick it up in 2 weeks at a gun dealer. There is an interview with the bank staff about how Moore lied in this story. He's a really sick man
@kevin708 They are kept in a vault at a different location. In an interview about this film, the bank manager makes that perfectly clear. It was edited to make lame brains think they keep them there at the bank. Moore uses tricks & flat out lies to deceive people that don't have a great ability to think critically, kinda like you. It is clear they are using editing tricks.
That's my friend at the bank! I remember this entire thing (background check, etc) took like 2 weeks...he made it look like it was same day service! He's such an ass!!
@RadarGuidedVermin You just try to make anyone look stupid. But the funny thing is you post childish comments and you don't succeed. You just manage to humiliate yourself.
@TheRivetthead So you wouldn't mind when they hand out a gun to a criminal and he loads some ammo in shoots everybody and steals the money from the bank?
@TigranTheMetz Look genius, he was required to have a background check before he was handed the gun and couldn't someone who wanted to rob the bank just go to a gun store and then walk into the bank and rob it? or is that too much logic for your mind to comprehend?
@TigranTheMetz Hows it barbaric? the guns they're giving out you can buy in walmart anyway and they're bolt action hunting rifles and double barrel shotguns. When was the last time you saw somebody rob a bank with a bolt action rifle? they're going to use a handgun and most of the time its illegally obtained
@TheRivetthead So you wouldn't mind when they hand out a gun to a criminal and he loads some ammo in shoots everybody and steals the money from the bank?
@RadarGuidedVermin Woooow, three post within one hour! You've got a lot of time, hah? The more you write, the more I'm sure, that you're this little white dude from Texas happily masturbating to your precious gun. Yeah, you love your gun, don't you? And what the fuck are you talking about, when you say, that I deleted my post? Probably wishful thinking, because it's right there. Do you need glasses to match that sperm-covered gun?
@RadarGuidedVermin Oooooooooooooooh snap, did you just call me a crybaby? God, you got me with that one. Nice, man. Real good. You seem quite aggressive, just contact me if you want to talk to someone. It can't be nice to walk around with so much anger. Plus it's not save for your surroundings, if you love guns so much as I think you do.
people are acting like its a high power m16. its a hunting rifle, plain and simple. if your not from this country and you dont understand our gun culture, hunting heratige, safety measure before you can go hunting after the age of 16, hunter safety card. i really dont care what you think of us. i think its stupid and dangerous to drive 150 miles on the autobahn (sp). moore dosent think we need to have a glock magazine with 33 rounds, i agree. i dont think we need a car that goes 150mph.
In reality, the bank does background checks on everyone that received a gun and is a licensed through ATF. Moore condensed the segment for "production reasons" and in fact it wasn't even the same day that he opened his account that he received his gun. It had to be shipped to the bank first. I don't really care for Michael's Moore's documentaries because he tends to edit it to align with his viewpoints. He doesn't really make documentaries, he makes entertaining quasi-documentaries.
Moore called ahead and said he was filming a documentary and asked if they would have the gun there for him. he manipulated it to seem that they have 500 guns in their ban vault when really they have 500 in the main gun vault for all the branches. It is usually a long process which takes about a week or two but he edited it to make it seems like he got it in about 30 mins. this is why you can never take Moore as a serious documentarian. he is full of S**t
This scene as with the majority of this so-called documentary was heavily manipulated to fit Moore's narrative... If you interested in what Moore's really about, watch "Michael Moore Hates America," what can I say it's somewhat of an eye opener.
This scene was actually over dramatized. The bank actually sends the gun to a licensed arms dealer in the mail from their vault located 300 miles away and you have to pick it up; however, Moore convinced the bank to give it to him the next day for the camera.
@m16isdabest Yeah I'm Canadian & my teacher made us watch this when I was in high school as well, probably to convince us all how evil the U.S. is! You should bring in the movie "Michael Moore Hates America" to watch in class, see what your teacher thinks of that.
@sonnyblack0870 ahhaha yer mate!, its hard to convince people, now everyone in class thinks all Americans are gun crazy. i would, but we have just finished this task, anyways cheers mate
@m16isdabest what many people in the UK / Europe do not understand is that the ease in which one can obtain a gun (in the usa) depends on what state you live in. There are parts of the US where it is quite difficult to get a gun. We have 50 states but Moore wants to harp on the ones that have the most loose gun laws. That would be very unusual in the USA to just be handed a gun for opening up a bank account. Even by American standards that is a bit extreme and over the top
@bestwin1 whatever you say you redneck. Just go shove all your guns up your ass! i hope all you rednecks kill eachother off and leave the world in peace
@reset515 First of all the term "redneck" is racist so shame on you. Secondly, I don't own any guns so I would not have one to shove up my ass. Finally your comments just shows how much of an evil person you are. You seem to enjoy the fact that people are killed with guns. My comment was fact. Moore did stage the bank scene. If you have a problem with facts then maybe you should go away and leave the world in peace.
@themangodess The term was coined to describe poor white workers who skin burned because they work in the sun. It was used to degrade these workers and the term stuck. So yes it is racist when a non white person calls a white person "redneck" since you can't call a black or hispanic or asain person that name.
that a hunting raffle for god's sake.. technically thats not a gun. in Vermont you can owe one by age of 14. even the toughest gun law in NYC ..you just need a driver license to get one in NYS? if you are living in LI.. the states wants you to get one. what's the big deal of it if this happened in Michigan? Why dont they go Alaska ? the state requires you bring a hunting raffle and hand gun. 24/7..please.... why not Texas?? see who is gonna give a F&*K for this???
@timmi827 haha you are an idiot and just dont get it. the point isnt what type of gun or what state he got this "bargain". it is just a statement about our country and culture. we are so obsessed with guns and violent stuff, like every where else, but we act on all these things.
Bank employees from the branch at which Moore is given a free hunting rifle assert that they were misled during the filming of this segment. Moore's agents are accused of convincing bank employees to have his rifle presented to him on camera. They counter that contrary to the film's supposition that the bank kept hundreds of guns on their premises, but the gun which was handed to Michael in the film was shipped overnight from a vault in their main branch "300 miles away."
@BrainRazer don't you understand that it is beside the point. It is not so much that the gun was handed to him at the bank, but it is about America's attitude towards guns. In Europe, when you open a bank account, they may have offers where they offer you a luxurious pen set or a brief case, everyday ordinary objects. Apparantly in America it is normal to offer a lethal weapon to a person for opening an account, like you would offer a toaster or a lap top case.
@masatje In many regions in the US, a firearm is an everyday ordinary object; used for everything from leisure target shooting, to putting food on a family's table. The idea of a firearm as an everyday tool, is only foreign to people who have ZERO knowledge of them. All the NICS background checks and screening still apply; the bank isn't just handing out guns carte blanche when people open an account. You weren't under the impression that Michael Moore was a legitimate documentarian, were you?
@masatje even by American standards being offered a gun at a bank is unusual. In fact, Moore obviously honed in on this one extreme example to push his ultra left wing agenda. Believe me when I tell you this is very unusual. If one wants to look hard enough you can find extreme negative examples of "anything". Moore's films are very entertaining but a lot of his scenes are "set-ups" and heavily edited to portray the USA in the worst light possible
@BrainRazer I wouldnt say that Wikipedia is exactly a legitimate source.. just considering that it can be edited by anyone. although i do agree with the quote, i just thought it was funny that you just copyed it, that was my point.

Here in Sweden most people cant own guns and im pretty sure way less people get shoot to death here than in America because of it.
