@jayman1986777 Honestly I do not know. I bought it used about 4 years ago. I know it doesn't have the PHAT mod. If you can tell me how to find out I'll take a look.
HI I also have the ground control, and the g major 2, I like to buy an expression pedal and I kind of lost, which one you recommend me? I tough in the Ernie ball but they produce like 6 different and I don't know which to choose. thanks.
Sorry, as of right now I do not offer the mod for the new XO synth. I will be buying the necessary equipment sometime this year. The XO pedal use a different type component that requires a rather expensive special soldering station. Be sure to check back.
Yes, I use an Ernie Ball volume pedal to manipulate the Stop Frequency parameter. The pedal has a 100k Log pot, but the pedal actually requires a 100k Linear. This just affects the taper of the sweep. I plan on changing the pot, I just haven't got around to it.
yes i currently use one of those EB pedals and also want to change the pot in it, but what i meant to ask was are those synth pedals built to be used with exp pedals or is that a modification that you did?
Sounds great. but im a little confused about the kinds of expession pedals from ernie ball. Im looking to get an Eventide pitch factor but i dont know what expression pedal i need ie. 250k 25k all i know is its mono. can you help. THANKS
Thanx man, but I actually wasn't playing Mortal Kombat. I can hear slight resemblance though. It was actually a part of my former bands song leading up to the solo.
wow. it sounds so much like it at 8:50 I was certain lol. Still cool. I'm very much tempted to get an EHX micro synth, have been for a while but just been waiting for some extra cash to dedicate to it.
For now you'll have to buy a used synth. As the new XO synth use a different type of component that I have not been setup to modify yet. I am selling the featured in the video. $375
Yeah, it makes the original sound like buttcheese. But seriously, the only slight downfall that I have found is that it would be wise to plug and unplug the insert cable with the power off. I have done it with the power on, and nothing gets hurt. As you are plugging the insert cable in it briefly shorts -10V to ground.
Yes, there is an additional octave of lower frequencies that are allowed to pass through the circuit. This benefits even guitar players. If you look and see what famous musicians have Micro Synth's most, if not ALL, use the Bass Micro Synth. Joe Satriani, Chemical Brothers, etc...
Oh, I thought your other comment was about all of my mods. I realized that you may have meant, "is there any disadvantages to converting to the Bass MS." No there is none, IMO.
Hey could someone help me. Im looking at powering my pedalboard with either a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power Plus 2 or the Dunlop DC Brick, which ones better? Which ones quieter and doesnt edit your tone?
I have never used either, but I know some guys that use the Voodoo Labs, and they LOVE it. I'm pretty sure the Voodoo Lab has a 'sag' which can simulate a dying battery, that can be pretty cool. I don't know much about the Dunlop. I know I do not like ANYTHING new that Dunlop has been producing in the last 10 years.
Simply put, 'modding' a pedal means changing something inside of the circuit. Yes, the unmodded pedal can make some of these. But not all of them, the expression pedal action cannot be simulated handsfree without the mod.
Well, that is not an easy question to answer. 'Easy to learn' is a relative statement. I find it easy, but I have a degree in Electronics Engineering. However, you do not need to know a ton about electronic to do some cool mods, or come up with your own. Do a google search for Brian Wampler. He is a VERY knowledgeable guy and has some books ($15 a piece if you sign up) I bought all of them, and I learned a bunch of cool stuff.
Hi, I have a doubt, I wan to buy this pedal but I play with a head marshall tsl, does this pedal suck the sound? because it sound with some overdrive to me. Thanks for your help!
I'm assuming you are asking does it suck the suck when it is off, right? No, It doesn't, I have true bypassed the pedal. For those who do not know what that means, the entire circuit is completely out of your signal chain when the pedal is bypassed. When bypassed the input jack is wired directly to the output jack, the circuit input is wired to ground to eliminate any inherent noise in the circuit. Whatever tone you put in, is what you will get out of this pedal, except it will be effected.
Thanx man!!! Have you listened to Part 2? It features the expression pedal mod, which is the highlight of all of my mods. I should really edit these videos down a bit. 20 minutes is a bit much I guess.
Awesome.

@matabaldia I use the Ernie Ball 6166 mono pedal. $100. Although for use with the EHX MS Mod I have it should have a 100k linear taper pot.

hey man cool pedal, where in your signal chain is it? is it in the loop or the front of the amp?
Ashadowtotheworld 2 years ago
Well, I do not have a 'traditional' amp setup. Long story short, it is in a MIDI controlled loop which is before my preamp.
Typically you would not place a pedal that alters your gain or volume in any way in a loop or after your preamp.
Thanx!!!
shotgunndunn 2 years ago
ah perfect, i understand yes i also have loops in my etup which are before the pre, its not that uncommon :)
this would work great in my set up i reckon, also does it take an xpression pedal?

AirheadEmoBoy57 2 years ago
A mixer pedal??? I don't understand... You need and expression pedal and my mod.

25k linear taper is what you need. I am pretty sure that most, if not all Ernie Ball expression pedal have 100k audio (log) taper pots.
