The neck is signed “TG 6.54”, referring to Taddeo Gomez June 1954 and the body has a handwritten signature “Mary 9.28.54”. The black one is a '69 model with an '83 replacement neck from a '57 reissue.

@Shellpink Just an update.....I read where DG changed the neck on the Black strat from the neck that was attached (from his red '57 re-issue) to the original neck from this guitar. In other words, the neck from this '54 strat is now on the Black Strat (and my information is DG did the work himself). Man, it's hard keeping up with some of this trivia! *LMAO*

@damny2 No the one he's playing in this video is the first serial numbered stratocaster. He's black strat is a 1969 model which has obviously like everyone should know been changed several times be it pickups, necks, wirin, etc.

@damny2 Well, here is some more info to confuse you even more....This guitar IS s/n 0001 and was manufactured in 1954, however, since fender does not use s/ns in sequence, it would not be the first one. Also, the original neck from this guitar is now attached to DGs favorite....the "Black Strat" (And that is his second Black Strat....the first one was stolen!)
