Grow the fuck up Wikipedia. I was a former editor of that site who used to slave over countless edits and was constantly dealt unjust bans and blocks by the site's administrators abusing their power. Countless users have brought this issue to the sites attention but they refuse to do shit. Rather, they force you to make unblock appeals to more admins who abuse power. Now all of sudden they care about our hard worked edits because they need help with a protest against the government
Wiki doesn't give a shit about anybody's edits like they're claiming they do in this protest to the government, talking about how the government is a threat to your hard worked edits. If they did they wouldn't be penalizing the editors by blocking out their website. All those people who worked hard on editing that website shouldn't be stripped of using it for 24 hours because Wikipedia has some sort of a protest. They're proselytizing everyone out their to see a view from their perspective
The fact that websites like Stormfront, Chimpout, and N*ggermania are up and running is the very reason all blacks should support this effort by the U.S. congress to censor the Web. Do not listen to the folks encouraging you to go against this plan. They're all likely whites who do not have to deal with seeing ugly racism about them wherever they're race is seen doing something bad over the Web. This is not something they have to experience so therefor they aren't interested in censors
Thank you U.S. congress for replying to my repeated letters asking to censor the Web a few years ago. I'm sorry but the amount of anti-black racism spewed over the Net coming from racist members of the white community, and likely other non-black minorities that redneck whites have been able to whitewash, is through the roof. For everytime I see a news story about a person who happens to be black and has done something wrong, there's always a sea of racism. This will nip that crap in the bud
They aren't going to close down Wikipedia or Craiglslist. They are going to force websites to sever their links to copyrighted material on demand. But, if they can't milk their copyrights, they won't produce the product.

@MegaDeathwarrant ...Not to mention, piracy is not even as big as you may think it is. Piracy actually in a way gets the game/song/video out there even more, by those people telling there friends about it/whatnot (quote from Eminem, a huge rapper, that would know more than enough about media). Again, they cannot stop piracy, its out there, its illegal, putting up new laws against it won't make it any more illegal. A crime is a crime. Feel me?
@MegaDeathwarrant If it can be so easily stopped, tell me how. Im not trying to offend you in anyway, you seem to be very insightful with these wise words on how easily it can be stopped.
piracy is bad sopa is way worse piracy will never and i mean never end it has been proven time and time again and guess what any one that wants to pirate will pirate why dont you go look up a lan ammo box
other then that lets stop this back and forth all that its geting done is starting a fight and we need to fight the real problem not each other.
@MegaDeathwarrant I believe @hardwirecars thought you uploaded the mercenaries 2 theme song, which according to this bill, would be considered piracy. Yes, you did infact favorite the video, not upload it, so it's fine for you. Anyways, this bill cannot stop piracy. This bill stops people from uploading damn near all of the content on youtube. I agree with hardwirecars, piracy cannot be avoided. Piracy is already illegal, you think those people give a shit about a new law against it? ... cont.
i think we should all stop going to the movies stop buying cd's stop watching tv stop everything and show the government who is in charge i can say those greedy people in hollywood is loving it cause they need more money to shove up there asses
@3160jimmys I'm already there dude. I stop watchin' tv, movies, and buying CDs over a decade ago, and it ain't becuz of piracy. I hope the anti-piracy bill pass to be honest, so it can prove that hollywood and the music industry are losing profits because of their pass decade of shitty films & music and not because of piracy.
@b75s It's not just anti piracy. If that's all it was, there wouldn't be such an issue. This bill puts the power to shut down websites into the hands of the big companies, so they can shut down websites that they just SUSPECT of showing copyrighted material. On top of that, it gives the government the right to shut down websites that show content that is copyrighted even if the sites have the copyright holders permission. It's an oppressive bill that takes away even more freedom than prohibition
@xxcl0n3xx Ooooh, that is serious, thanks for breakin' it down for me. Either way, even if the bill pass, their's no possible way the government can really stop piracy unless they shutdown the net entirely, which scares me because it may lead to that final conclusion.
Do you guys talking about artists, copyrights, and Hollywood Internet Censorship actually realise that the Stop Online Piracy Act won't actually stop piracy in the end?
Because while mostly innocent websites and people can be ruthlessly targeted (shutdown) without any preliminaries under new censorship, the really stinking fun pirate websites will still be accessed via
As detailed by Lifehacker and Gother methods than htt addresses and DNS blocking ...
@Minecrafter1235467 No, no one should be afraid of each other. But a person said, the goverment serves the people, not the people serves the government.
@67Glasseye You dont understand what sopa would do. The artists do not get hurt. the companies that hire the artists do. And they dont give a shit about the artist. The only reason SOPA is happening, is because the companies brought it to government and the companies have so much influence in government it's not even funny. And the gaming industry will be hurt from SOPA. So will social sites. Places like youtube, google, facebook, twitter can all be effected from this bill.
@masterjarred32 i know, but we know by now that congress won't listen. The worst part is, the people deciding this bill, have no idea of the importance or how much we depend on sites.i'ts like having a kid listning to old music, they would think it's the stupidest think ever, because they've never gotten to know it. They just pass it because they think it's a good idea, but really, it's not. I pray to god we still have youtube when it's passed. (I'm 99.99% sure it will be passed)
It's good to see real support for anti-SOPA protests, but a dislike for the Media -- and the Entertainment Industry which seeks to have unlawful rights over the internet.
Well your not supposed to use Wikipedia anyway. Anybody can change the info on it.

The Government should be afraid of its people. The People shouldn't be afraid of its Government.

@Minecrafter1235467 exactly, its a fucked up world we live in. just because theres pirating doesnt give them the right to control the internet.
jakeeenator 1 month ago
@Minecrafter1235467 No, no one should be afraid of each other. But a person said, the goverment serves the people, not the people serves the government.

You assholes were one of the groups supporting this shit.
Now that you can't feign ignorance anymore, you have done an about-face on SOPA and PIPA and started covering it.
Fuck you, media assholes.
Fuck you hard.
immuki 1 month ago
They will come in behind SOPA with PIPA as the alternative, it's no better than SOPA so keep an ear to the ground and an eye on the horizon.

JPBelmond0 1 month ago
@67Glasseye You dont understand what sopa would do. The artists do not get hurt. the companies that hire the artists do. And they dont give a shit about the artist. The only reason SOPA is happening, is because the companies brought it to government and the companies have so much influence in government it's not even funny. And the gaming industry will be hurt from SOPA. So will social sites. Places like youtube, google, facebook, twitter can all be effected from this bill.
masterjarred32 1 month ago
@masterjarred32 i know, but we know by now that congress won't listen. The worst part is, the people deciding this bill, have no idea of the importance or how much we depend on sites.i'ts like having a kid listning to old music, they would think it's the stupidest think ever, because they've never gotten to know it. They just pass it because they think it's a good idea, but really, it's not. I pray to god we still have youtube when it's passed. (I'm 99.99% sure it will be passed)

ooooh... so now that a major website is protesting, it's news. But when no one took any action, they just skimmed over it.
TheDarkAwakening 1 month ago
It's good to see real support for anti-SOPA protests, but a dislike for the Media -- and the Entertainment Industry which seeks to have unlawful rights over the internet.

You are not suppose to use wiki for references in your projects anyway!

Didn't these bungholes learn anything from history and what censorship leads to? Reminds me of Germany circa 1932. Yes, burn the books.
