Pop punk is anything that is "popular" (Pop is short for POPULAR)...so this means that pennywise is pop-punk also. other pop punk bands include Offspring, Rancid, AFI....they all have RADIO hits, making them pop.
Well genius, i thought you knew so much about rancid and punk....ruby:1995 (year of and out come the wolves) fall back down (first single off indestructble, 2003), red hot moon (2nd single off indestructible, 2003-2004). anything else?
rancid has never been on ANY radio... punk is not generally played on the radio, except for green day, but they only play their not as punk stuff. pennywise i have never heard on radio either.
yeah, technically, but there's a stigma that comes with the "pop" prefix. a certain breed of of production and songwriting. Like, I wouldn't consider NoFX Pop-punk (though I don't know if you would either,, as you didn't mention them, lol) or some of the earlier Blink/earlier Rancid/earlier pennywise stuff (though these might still fall outside your criteria, I don't rightly know...)

NoFX, Rancid, & Pennywise all those are skate punk. Like lagwagon the little rebel boy music stuff we've grown up too. Pop-punk is that shit like Green Day or whatever those guys who "THINK" they're punk. They're many Subgenres of punk. But this is the best one imho.

Pop punk is anything that is "popular" (Pop is short for POPULAR)...so this means that pennywise is pop-punk also. other pop punk bands include Offspring, Rancid, AFI....they all have RADIO hits, making them pop.

rancid has never been on ANY radio... punk is not generally played on the radio, except for green day, but they only play their not as punk stuff. pennywise i have never heard on radio either.

yeah, technically, but there's a stigma that comes with the "pop" prefix. a certain breed of of production and songwriting. Like, I wouldn't consider NoFX Pop-punk (though I don't know if you would either,, as you didn't mention them, lol) or some of the earlier Blink/earlier Rancid/earlier pennywise stuff (though these might still fall outside your criteria, I don't rightly know...)
