Awesome guitar and awesome playing....er, I mean, awesome flatpicking. However, I think you could have done a better service for potential buyers if you had a bit of range in playing styles to get a sense of the guitar's versatility and limitations. Although, a very impressive show with a very impressive guitar. I like these SCGC gits very much. Thank you!
@yumpladukfoo Well, each player here at Sound Pure has a different approach to the instrument. We try to vary them as much as we possibly can. But, if you are interested in purchasing your next instrument, we are glad to help identify what ever sound samples you would need to make an incredibly informed decision. We are constantly testing the latest acoustic instruments from the finest boutique builders in our demanding environment. Please contact us acoustics(at)soundpure(dot)com w/ any "?"
@soundpurestudios Hi, I owned a Martin D18GE for years that was incredible and had really great low end. I have since sold it and am looking for something different without sacrificing that Martin boom Ive become so accustomed to. Santa Cruz, after some research and reviews, seems to be the only other guitar that has that nice deep sound. My question to you is, is this DPW/M what I'm looking for or is there another Santa Cruz in the 3k range I should know about? regular DPW sound good too?
@cerebralfish1 It takes quite a while for us to post a video since there is a lot of planning and work involved setting everything up to do a shoot. Because of this we will shoot several videos at once before it goes to the video department for editing. Right now they are back logged with over 50 videos that need to be edited so it would probably be a while before we could get anything up. I can say the one we have in stock now is very similar to this one, Santa Cruz is incredibly consistent!
@lewisdanderson I completely agree. Santa Cruz have such great playability, and a boldness to their sound. Please let us know if you have any questions about these guitars, and thanks for your comment!
I bought a DPW back in 2002. Must have played a dozen different guitars over a 2 week period before pulling the trigger on the Santa Cruz. Haven't regretted a single second of it. It just gets better with every year I play it.
It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles but if you want somethin fancy, put on a nicer shirt.
@adse123 10's would be a too light for just about any acoustic. this guitar likely had 12's or even 13's. those are the most common. Santa Cruz typically provide Elixir strings when they ship a new guitar. Sound Pure prefers D'Addario strings but we also carry Elixirs if a customer prefers we ship a guitar with those. hope that helps! thanks for watching the video!
@keithsmartin Can't sell those! Endangered species. Some guys make them out of old combs and hairbrushes. You can probably find them at most Bluegrass festivals...
Thanks for the support! If we can ever help you with any of your high-end boutique guitar needs or recording gear, please don't hesitate to contact us directly!
Man this guy is a great player. Santa Cruz's are really nice; I played one the other day. Is there a tab of this song somewhere? I feel like I must learn to play it.
Pretty hilarious comment. We assume you are making a joke (otherwise a bitter Martin owner!) Early Vintage Martins are hard to beat (but that's why they sell for $25k), but if you are serious about guitar tone and are looking to purchase a new guitar, new Martins, factory made in huge numbers simply don't cut it. Thanks for the comment though...

Thin pick? Great player though.
stramTuplik 1 year ago
@stramTuplik actually real tortoise shell pick but he's playing really close to the bridge. He's a banjo player, so that makes sense!
