I understand your point, but you're missing my point here. The real guy was an Asian guy, but they replaced him with a white actor instead. They should have used an Asian actor. There a lot of them out there, but because Hollywood is greedy and that's what makes it racist.

Most of the MIT crew portrayed in the movie were originally Asian, even the lead role. Due to forecasted ticket sales, most of the team had to be transformed to non-Asian. Unfortunately, by doing so, Hollywood perpetuates the stereotype that Asians only do chop chop Karate and wear glasses along with their calculators.

Why can't an Asian lead a big role outside of kung fu action?

Just so everyone knows this movie is highly dramatized and made up, what the MIT blackjack team did was 100% legal and they never once had problems with security aside from being banned by them and being harassed, no violence or detention whatsoever, they didnt even have to let them photograph them. they all got audited too, that was the big thing that scared them more than the security, but they did everything by the book so they kept everything. and everyone was really asian too.

This is a true story.... a prof. at an ivy league college convinced his fave five students to stay after class to work with him on an interpersonal experiment that he was thinking of for years. They all learned the easy science of card counting, and they all actually went to Vegas and tried it out. The result was that they did effectively learn to read the system of card appearance via setting up on a table, then switching in till they won big. This isn't illegal, and is protected against now.
