Did it come with EN-EL9 batteries? I've just got one of these, came with EN-EL9, and the D5000 takes the en-enl9a which is different voltage and shit, just wondering what you got and what you use
Do you need both batteries in the grip in order for the vertical shutter button to work? I have this same grip but with only one battery and the shutter button does not work.

Huh. I have one battery and the cable is connected but the vertical shutter button doesn't work. I guess it's a dud.

Send him back to where you bought it and request a new grip because it should work with only one battery

vertical shutter buttton is working with one battery all you need is cabel like i show it in video.
