hey this album is helpin me again..struggle n other shit happened in my life, but i just listen to it over and over again...i know one day ill be free..thnkz so much
i´m starting my DT collections, i already have the original release, the american koch release with 2 bonus *fear and how soon is now, and the japaneese edition with 3 bonus laid to waste, master of misrule and walk away..i´m looking forward for the legacy edition.. :)
I recorded a demo for a friends band yesterday ( I'm a sound engineer), The drum kit they brought in was the very same kit used on this album. The kit was sold to him by lee morris some time ago. I couldn't get it to sound as good as it does here tho, hehe
All their albums in order of my personal fave to least preferred is... Draconian Times Icon Shades of God Symbol of Life Host One Second Paradise Lost Gothic In Requiem Lost paradise Believe In Nothing
interesting. For me it goes something like this: Draconian TImes One Second Icon Paradise Lost Faith Divides Us...... Symbol Of Life In Requiem Shades Of God Host/Believe In Nothing(tie!!) Gothic Lost Paradise
If we consider the concept of an album, something that nowadays are far form people that just listen a couple of mp3, than this album is the best ever in rock. I've never heard an album like this one. Everybody should listen to it and start again collecting and supporting artists like Paradise Lost.
Definitely Paradise Lost's best album in my opinion. The songs are rather simple and some are even radio friendly, but the overall performance and result is great!
don`t really agree, I actually think the self-entitled album is the second best after Draconian Times. Believe In Nothing and Symbol Of Life kick ass too.
believe in nothing ans symbol of life suck. their best after draconian is definitely icon but the last 2 albums are really cool as well. songs like gray are unbelievable
i got this album from my little brother as a christmas present 97, Draconian times are just as fucking great now as it was the first time i listen to it
it's one of those albums how dosen't age or gets boring ... i still love every second of that album
Totally agree! Its one of those seminal albums that are classic to the core, and which cannot be surpassed the band that created it. Its just like Wildhoney from Tiamat.
Yo pienso parecido: Los primeros eran maravilloso.Pero decir que se acabó...Los discos de después estan tan por encima de lo que hacen la mayoria de los grupos de ahora, que me da reparo decir que es malo.
Well, I guess most of you could probably call me a new fan. I discovered them maybe two or three months before the release of In Requiem. I was initially hooked by tracks like Grey and the 'The Enemy Medley' they had on their myspace which mixed a few tracks including The Enemy and Beneath Black Skies.
though I like most of their stuff semi-equally, with the exception of Host and Believe in Nothing.
Sadly, tracks from their first album are much too hard to find.
hard to find? lol dude you could go to Hastings or fucking best buy and find Draconion Times, probably even some new, updated, remastered version with an accompanying DVD. every band that ever existed well known or otherwise is doing that nowadays. and like dude said its all over torrent sites not to mention numerous p2p clients like Limwire and Warez.
Me too, i used to listen to this all the time when i was about 18 when i got my first car.. Lol I wonder how many cars i overtook listening to this song.. Still love it now.
Cool. I use to really like this kind of music. I still like some of it now, but I am more into dance and trance these days though. But that is just a personal view. No offence to any1 on YouTube OK? :)

Thumbs up for this post.
This album includes a great voice, great Lyrics and wonderful, melancolic Melodies.
Listened to this first in 1996 and its one of the rare albums from these times i still like to hear over and over again.
Timeless beauty in sound.

It's thei best and LAST album. After that, only shit (probably played by Tokyo Hotel or Bruce Springsteen),

''In Requiem'' contains a few good songs, but lacks good vocals from 1993/1995. Nick can't hit high notes anyway. He's quite bad these days.

It's not so hard to get their old albums, especially with a torrent. I got them easily by searching on mininova or thepiratebay
