You are so right! Pat was the one who forced the concessionary contract on the US Airways flight attendants. Of course she wasn't affected by it - her pay is tied to the HIGHEST paid AFA airline - not even United where she USED to be a flight attendant.

Zenseo - AFA has put out lots of false slogans. Dr. King is right - we shouldn't be fooled by them.Had AFA done it's job at NWA in the last 3 years, there wouldn't have to be a campaign. This election would be a slam-dunk.

Please explain how Pat Friend and other officers from other airlines are part of Delta? How about the fa's in Denver who cannot get rid of their crooked Union Flight Attendant representatives?? These crooks are spending fa dues right and left and the union leadershiop refuses to stop them.

Anyone who thinks that "FA's are the Union" is seriously misguided.

The union is run in Washington by Pat Friend and her cronies.

They aren't, nor did I claim that Pat Friend or any other international officer was part of Delta-AFA. They are, however, part of the Association of Flight Attendants, the larger community of flight attendants. Delta-AFA will be made up of a membership -- Delta flight attendants -- and we will elect our own leadership. Leadership is accountable to the membership and there will be great, and not so great leaders. Not so different from our local leaders, national leaders, or even our CEO.

Leadership changes. In this industry, every 5-years or so. A union gives us the ability to negotiate with management those issues important to us. It allows us to uphold our work rules, ensures due process and right to recall, to name a few. Why any worker in this country wouldn't want that -- especially in a work force of 20,000 -- is beyond me. No, I am not misguided, I just have a different ideology than you.

We're often told that the "AFA" is a third-party. The "AFA" is the Association of Flight Attendants, and Delta-AFA is us -- united together to improve our working lives and maintain our profession. Like the great Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "we must guard against being fooled by false slogans". WE are Delta AFA.

Delta says there is a third party involved. The Union is us....flight attendants helping flight attendants. We are empowered by each other.
