  • In a word, I think people believe what they want to believe.-- for various reasons, and not all of the reasons are the results of so-called "deep thinking." They may give reasons that just pop into their heads or have been offered to them by others.

  • I have studied the works of Swedenborg for over 35 yrs & I wholeheartedly recommend the exploration of Swedenborg to anyone who is on a committed Spiritual Journey into the higher realms of being. His work is not always easy to comprehend or accept, but it is well worth the effort. I believe it to be true. It is important to make that journey in partnership with The Lord. One must be willing to give their guidance on that path over to the only source of Life, the originator of thought.

  • This man is purposely polluting the writings of swedenborg and should not be believed. He pollutes them because the books are about the lords providence regarding regeneration and these men were not regenerated.

only purchase swedenborg books published prior to WWII the rest are polluted and they will make no sense.

  • Of course heavenly happiness, which is also eternal happiness, consists solely in admission into heaven, and that depends purely on the divine mercy and favor.

  • That is doctrine of Martin Luther not Swedenborg, however the Bible teaches the Kingdom of God comes to Earth. Not that man goes to Heaven.

  • :-) AND Swedenborg's veiws. There is an inner world, of which we are ONE.

Greater works than these you too shall do?

    What am I talking about?!?

  • I have no clue what your talking about?

He talked of spirit world not an inner world?

  • @SonicArchives yes and he believed that when you die and become a spirit if in heaven you will become and angel through peogress in the spirit world but of course i havent explained it that well so you might aswell read what he has to say

  • @8matthewlee8 Therefore true spirituality is the same. What you say sounds like what the Buddhists talk about as well. A Boddhisatva is just like what we call angels inChristianity.

  • I glanced through a copy of swedenborg's Heaven and Hell book at my library, and I don't know maybe I'm just a simpleton, but NONE of it made any fucking sense to me

  • Swedenborg's interpretations need a knowledge of psychology. And, as soon as you are able to 'speak the Swedenborgian language' and recognise the symbols it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

If you're talking about the surrealness of his visions, I too have a problem. My best bet is that his visions are also symbolic, like the bible's messages. For example, marriage could mean fulfilment, and ejection from living spaces could be not literal, but an indication of different heavenly realms.

  • The issue in society is the affects to measures in perception in judgment which is the basis to the true psychology that is in the bible starting with the parables adam eve cain abel, then in the sermon on the mount in the new testament again explaining in greater detail because humanity is in evolution in technology which ties to the expansion in vocabulary which is why the bible is now out of date, the bible is a time capsule of social physics which I can explain though what I call egonomics

  • @NeoOneOrg I would love to get a glims of what you are talking about.

  • Hey I have the book on my blog that Im writing which explains way too many things in this mention, but I have defined what is called Egonomics which is the explanation of economic evolution in technology through mans physical and perceptive natures and its a self evident science, I would love to explain what I can abd I am writing a book you can read some on my blog...

  • Try Sundar Singh Vissions of the Spirit World.

  • @SonicArchives If you are talking about Sadhu Sundar Singh, well, I first stumble over Sadhu Sundar,s work and read and when I was looking to find out more about Sadhu Sundar Singh, I found out this ""I saw him (Emanuel Swedenborg) several times some years ago, but I did not know his earthly name. His name in the spiritual world is quite different just according to his high position or office and most beautiful character." this is what Sadhu Sundar had to say about Swedenborg, so then I had to

  • Having read some of Swedenborg's work... He dissected his spiritual work and gave accounts of things he couldn't have known. Unless the Reader had spiritual experiences it would be easy to stay focused on the Natural explanations. Swedenborg did give the concept of Purgation as the Catholics believe. Unfortunately, some Protestant Ministers have ignominiously lumped him in with Madame Blavatski. Swedenborg was before Blavatski and the Thulists.

  • Having read Swedenborg's work - it is more akin to a description of psychological instances in human nature than spiritual visitations.

  • I pray Swedenborg had it right with his understanding of marriage and soulmates in Heaven.

  • This is great. Swedenborg wrote such an extensive volume of treatises it is very kind that someone has studied and simplified them for all of us to understand.

  • that is one impressive bookshelf you got there. Are any of those yellow volumes for mysticism for dummies? LOL
