Liberalunconformes: You would be surprised how many teens are NOT doing drugs, alcohol and techno music, but ARE playing cello, violin, etc. just like you. I went to a concert last month and the audience was full of young people. Maybe your friends are jealous, so keep playing and someday you will sound like Luka or maybe Yo Yo Ma!

I love to listen to cello in all circumstances, I've been playing cello for 8 years now and I find it interesting how most people don't care if you're playing an instrument and keep walking. Even a smile would be nice. I'm only 17 but, today I played for some important politicians (former secretary of state of Pennsylvania being one). I noticed only the ones that have played music before were the ones who actually understood and noticed that I was there playing. kudos to everyone that cares!

@Liberalunconformest That's so true this is my 2nd year playing cello I'm only 15 It seems like all people care about these days are drugs, alcohol and techno music . My friends like to judge me for being in an orchestra of course I ignore haha, to me when I play it's like I'm peaceful and Nobody can take that feeling away from me . It's another Language some people don't understand . And If they really knew how it feels to play any kind of instrument they wouldn't judge or ignore .

@Liberalunconformest in the most stranges places you will find someone who really appreciates your music. i play the flute and piano i've been playing them since i'm 4 and 7. and sometimes you meet lot of people who don't understand your effort but then you might be playing alone in a cafeteria and someone will come and congratulates you, and for those little moments you keep playing.
