  • damn... wish you were in california..... i'm so not patient and palm rolling my 1 week old dreads is a pain in the arse

  • @itstheapril

sorry, maybe somebody can help you a bit?

  • why are they sticking up like that?

  • @dethmetal1396

Because they are brand new and very tight still. Once you wash them, they lie down. It is a sign of good work when they stiff like that right after they got dreaded. Means they are locked tightly

  • how to keep dreads clean

    seddik.byethost5 . com/

  • @aitseddik

Just wash them regurily. African black soap works very well for example

  • instant dreads kill the fun. i love my nattyness

  • @MsFiguren

I am sure your natty dreads are awesome. Not everybody has your patience though :)

  • @somethinfishy11

Yeah, what is the sense of changing your hair style or anything else if you want to look the same as before? Relax, you interpret way to much into this. The boy just wanted Dreads. Period.

  • Very cool dreads!

  • @KintaromOe

Thanks! Actually the vid is rather old now. We have a lot of newer photos on our website if you are interested.

  • @MagicStyleAtelier Yeah, im going to visit your site. Thx for the info!

  • @KintaromOe

    You are very welcome!

  • That's my nigga Tarzan

  • crocheted dreads are not dreadlocks at all. Poking holes through the locks when they are babies and tying knots? you wonder why you have monthly tuning visits w your loctician?? crochted locks are very simple in structure, compared to natural neglected locks which are inherently more complex 100 fold.. neglected locks have fewer broken hairs as backcombing and crcheting are extremly agressive methods and break tons of hairs. When these hairs grow back they cause a halo of undesirable frizz

  • bruh those arent instant becouse he still has to let them lock remember u rip off artist did u tell em that but no hate yaw ll did sum nice ass work good job just make sure you tell ppl they have to lock up and that they r not intant i mean they look like it but theyre no

  • @safet141414

Thanks for your comments. Locks will always keep maturing as long as you wear them. These locks are "instant" because they are very tight and won't come apart when you wash them. They look pretty mature for being brand new, especially after the first washing (then they loose their stiffness).

  • @MagicStyleAtelier yea srry if i said anything mean in that comment but good work guys :)

  • @safet141414

Hey, no problem. Thanks for commenting. You sound like a nice person and you are right about the fact that dreads are never "done". They get more beautiful the longer you have them if you care for them.

  • @MagicStyleAtelier ok mine hit 2 months old 2day i luv them i backcombed them in

  • @safet141414

I checked them out on your channel. You look very cute - love your Dreads :).

  • @MagicStyleAtelier yea that wuz my old dreadlocks set my new one is coming soon i had to comb out my second set 1 day ago and now im going to get mine third set at shoulder length and im it just ripped "n" twist method no wax or anything and maybe a tape up :)

  • @safet141414

Hey, rip and twist sounds painful ;). Yeah, wax is not a good way to get dreads. We prefer backcombing, crocheting and palm rolling. You should check out our website. We have so many good dreadlocks photos on there. Actually the vid above is kinda old and we have much better work to show off now. If you sent me an email or something I can sent you direct links to our dreadlocks photos

  • @Drazxt

Oh schade...warum musstest Du Deine Dreads denn abschneiden? Danke für den netten Kommentar!

  • @MagicStyleAtelier

  • just leave your hair alone no need for crochet

  • @TheBrownTies

That won't work with straight hair. All you would get is a matted hair, not locks.

  • @MagicStyleAtelier dont lie crochet destroys dreads and natural does work in straight haor why do u lie?

  • dreads in one day :)

    such a shit

  • UGLY .... NOT PROPORTION ... TO THE FACE..

  • dreadlocks is a lifestyl fool..leave it iff ya dont now yah!!

  • @reeteep

Get real. Dreads existed way before your "Lifestyle" was invented and they popped up in every culture during history. Let people have fun with their hair the way they like. It is only hair after all.

  • @reeteep

Go and do your research. I am sure you are talking about the Rasta Lifestyle. Dreads existed way before that in every culture on earth. How can hair be a life style? What you do and make out of your life is a life style, not what you wear on your head. What if you would get bald? Would that mean you lose your "life style"?

  • @MagicStyleAtelier both of you have good points, but dreads should be a journey . They're like tree roots. How many trees do you know grow in a day that hold up in a storm? None!! Whatever your faith, you should have locks on your heart before you have them on your head because life with dreads is not simple and weak hearts collapse. Dreads in a day?!? Easy dread come, so easy dread a go, fassy bwoy.

  • is this a girl??? wtf

  • @reeteep

No, it is a little boy.

  • whahahahhhahhah whahahahahhaaha whahahahaha ...beter die in 1 minuut !!

  • haha sieht ja scheiße aus xD

  • @lumpigolum

    Ebenfalls ;)

  • i do respecty that you recomend crocheting only every 43 months at least the damage isnt so severe but crochet should never be used on ant dreads ever

  • there is no "right" way to crochet dreads its aleways damaging and so what straight hair dreads just as easily as curly mines straight my dreads drag in the ground was his to his butt when u creatted them?

crochrt weakens them progressivly the more hairs u break the weaker they get..and there is no way to push a metal hook through a dread and not break hairs..simpley everytime u crochet u weaken the dread causing more hairs needing repair

  • do u warn them how damaging crochet is and how crochet makes a very low maintenace style into a very high maintenance one crochet dreads look fake stiff scratchy and ..bad.. and they require constant repair crochet dreads require more work in 1 week every week then i dind in mine in 20 years..and that goes on forever

  • @iriesoaringeagle

Most of our customer's have straight hair. I can assure you crocheting is only damaging when done wrong. Right after we dread the hair, we offer free maintenance for the first month. After that maintenance is required every 3 months. If you write me, I will sent you a few photos to prove my point. We have e. g. a customer who's dreads are down to his butt now and they look thick and healthy.

  • This video and others like it seduce people into believing they can pay to get "instant" dreads. The type of dreadlocks portrayed in this video are temporary and will not do justice to either the hair, nor the spirit of the person being "sold" dreads.

  • @ma0namaste

Ah come on, we do not seduce anybody. And they are not temporary either. Please do not force your believes on other people. There are people out there who just want dread locks - no deeper meaning attached. I respect your thoughts about dread locks, their meaning etc., but please realize this is just one view among uncountable others. All the rastafaris think they invented dreads but in reality they existed way before them and in almost every culture.

  • its the process of forcing dreads in 1 day that make thenm very damaged and look weird.. they look horrible fake and severely damaged

what methods were used? felting? crochet? they asre very very harmful methods

these dont look dreaded but very damaged ..the extreme tightness is unatural and instead of being a low maintenance hairstyle these will need constant repair for life

  • haha u call that beautiful dreadlocks? they look terrible and i looove dreadlocks what did you do to that poor boy?

  • @iriesoaringeagle

He does have real locked hair, not sticky old wax dreads. And if you read the comments below, you will see that most people like them. By the way, they are brand new on the photos and still stiff from the dreading process.

  • @MagicStyleAtelier I don't like them because they are not real dreadlocks. Real Dreadlocks take time and cannot be simply made. They look fake and harder than a viagra overdose.

  • @lumpybruisychickeny1

How do you know what a viagra overdose looks like? ;)

And by the way, they only look stiff right after they are done. You can wash them right away and they will be soft and pliable.

  • Nope I had my dreads done using backcombing method and I didn't like it. Dreadlocks are not supposed to sit like that. Its not natural.

Viagra overdose is a tent in the crotch zone for a few days. Stiffer than a police mans truncheon.

You get the point right not the fact that its viagra or not its use of language. PS Wax

  • I have the straightest hair in the world and their thick , can my hair be a problem for making dreads cause i really want to do them , and i want to make them natural no wax just with backombing & Crocheting method , any tips ?

  • @illyrianfighter666

Are you asian? The type of hair you describe is the hardest to lock. If you really do not want anything else than backcombing and corcheting than you have to do that...very, very thoroughly. Otherwise I would suggest apply perm liquid to your hair (you do not need to put it on rollers, other than that follow the instructions on the package) to roughen up the cuticles. This will make the backcombing process later a lot easier. This is not a dread perm btw.

  • @MagicStyleAtelier No I'm European(Caucasian) , Its not that i want only backcombing and crocheting , Any natural process will do fine , and i thank you for your tips i find them useful, hopefully i'll start doing my dreads this month ,keep up with the good work , all the best.

  • @illyrianfighter666

You are welcome! Good luck with your locks! Post a vid once you have them :)

  • @MagicStyleAtelier oh god nooo dread perms are the worse thing in the workld!! never ever get a dread perm how dare you asainm hair dreads very easily stop lying

  • @iriesoaringeagle

It is not a dread perm. Just backcombing and crocheting.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • @iriesoaringeagle How do you know so much then?

  • @bigfatchange been growing dreads naturaly 20+ years have helped thousanfds recover from salon dread disasters crochet screw ups and waxy messes and i run dreadlockssite dotcom

  • @iriesoaringeagle Nice to know where people come from sometimes. Its not obvious when you leave comments. Thanks for the site recommendation.

  • @bigfatchange it sucks weve only been up since last august so 2/3 of what we do is fixing messes caused by not finding us soon enough..wax removal crochet and interlocking recovery etc etc but the ones who find us first grow amazing natural locks and we have more members with dreads over 15-20 years then any site ive seen

  • @iriesoaringeagle soaringeagle is a legend. he helped me start my journey

  • @TheBrownTies nah u didnt need help just the truth thats the 1 thing thats missing from vids like this..the truth nobody needs help to dread

  • @iriesoaringeagle so true SE =) your wisdom is priceless. glad to see you're spreading the word of natural dreads as always!!! i've been passing it on to as many people as i can. it's sad to see how many people think wax and other methods are the only way to achieve locks, when in fact Natural dreads are the best!

  • @TheBrownTies i wouldnt dread any other way but natural

these p\oor poor ppl who have fallen for this i feel so sorry for them

  • What technique was used?

  • @islandmamma

His hair was straight, so we used a combination of backcombing, palm rolling and crocheting. It is about 8 - 10 hours of hard work for two people.

  • @MagicStyleAtelier Sounds damaging. The core lock should be solid knots, not broken hair and crotchet hook jamming would shatter the hairs.

  • @islandmamma

What you describe is how to not use a crochet hook. Correctly used, the hair stays instact and get properly locked up. We have customers who come to us year after year for maintenance and I assure you, their locks do not fall off ;). Also, you should never crochet the hair if it is not 100% dry.

  • esa wila parec mae

  • wow great looking dreads. i was wondering if i should do mine in dreads, i have very streight hair tho, but at least its thick. would those dreads that dude got get more flexible? they look a bit stiff, but im assuming its because they are new

  • Hi Pablowall,

Thanks for your comment. Yes, the dreads are that stiff when they are new. It means they are well locked down to the roots. Once you wash them they "relax" and of course your hair growing also makes them lie down flat.

Actually the type of hair does not matter much. You can put dreads in any type of hair, just the technique and the amount of work you have to invest vary. Please also check out our latest video "Luca (5) gets his first Dreads". Luca has fine, straight hair.

  • thanks for the reply, i will chek it out now

  • tingel tangel bob ^^

  • Nur knallig rot müßten sie sein :)

  • 1:39 mwahahahahaha !!!

  • this nice'ssssss handsome.

  • Thaaaaaanks! :)

  • thank you white. hahahahaahahah

  • HAHAHA THIS DUDE HAS HUGE EARS!

  • hahahahha you are funny my freind

  • You know what they say about people with huge ears... ;)

Frankly, I do not see it...he looks normal to me.

  • disgusting

  • I want dreads so bad! but My hair is too short.

  • Very nice dreads, check out my video people thanks

  • Thanks, will do!

  • i wish i could go to u for dreads i have to do them myslef

  • Maybe some experienced friends can help you. Just stay away from wax! Backcombing combined with fchrocheting is the best way to go if you do have straight hair.

  • @dojagrl209 ... if you live in england check out studio marley in london

  • Your dreads look great. If you maintain them well I see no reason why they should not grow out nicely.

  • THANK YOU! :D

    God bless

  • dan zeig halt ma deine lol

  • no offence but those were 100% fake

  • No offense taken. Just wondering how you define "fake"? It is all his own hair.

  • Those dreads look photo shopped and it doesent look natrul

  • We merely removed the background. Nothing was done to the dreads. They are brand new and still stiff looking. Once they are washed they fall more natural.

  • You should also state that they only look beautiful for a day because all dreads get worse before they get better and locked.

Anyone who knows just alittle about Dreads knows this guys hair probally was frizzy and loose the next time he washed it.

  • Hi ARkAngelSlave,

I know what you mean but that just applies to dreads which are done with lots of wax. We really lock them very tightly in one day. They still contract and get harder, but they they do not get loose. It all depends on how thorough you work.

  • Nice work! :D

I'm pretty desperate about my 5 year old beloved dreads.

Since a year they don't want to become felted by theirselves anymore (3 years I had to do nothing, everything worked well)...and my dreads are becoming thiner and thiner. :´(

Any suggestions? I would visit your place, unfortunately I live in Hamburg. :|

    Cheers,

    -Guy-

  • Hi StereoDeth,

You mean they do not lock any more? If you have straight hair I am surprise that you did not have to do anything to help them along all that time. It is normal, especially for straight hair, that the dreads get thinner over time while they lock up and contract. That is why we recommend not too start them out too thin. You could try to "unite" two thin dread to one or have synthetic hair worked in. Write us an email (you can write in German if you like). Maybe I can help you.

    Danke nochmal. :)

    Gruß.

    -Guy-

  • 10 cm or 4 inches.

  • he looks very god with locks!

  • I agree, more mature too somehow as stupid as it sounds :).

  • he looks like a gay...:D

  • Well, I think that is not a very nice thing to say. Not that here is anything wrong with being gay, but one should not judge a person just from a picture. You don't know this boy, he might be a very nice person. Just the other day I read that a 11 year kid hung himself because of being bullied if exactly this expression in school.

Don't think though I am mad about your comment, I just want to make you a bit thoughtful, ok? :)

  • I hope he is! He's super cute! I have dreads, and love them, but tonnes of guys want nothing to do with me because of them. That won't stop me from keeping them, and meeting guys who like them! :)

  • well done ,even if I find it too much "clean" ;)

  • Thanks! Don't worry, they get "natty" over time ;) if you neglect them.

  • i thought it was a girl in the beginning but the dreads look nice esp after 1 day

  • Thanks! Well. it is a handsome guy :)

  • those arent very good sectioned.

  • What would you do differently?

  • wow this vid did not help any!

  • What do you mean by braid locks? Braid your hair and wait until it locks up? That is not a good method. The braids themselves will never lock, only the new growth will. But not properly, especially if your hair is straight. All the hairs you lose and the new growth outside the baids will merely wrap itself arount the base of the braid. The inside will not lock at all. With straight hair you need to get it done via backcombing, crochet hooking etc.

  • actually braiding can be a very effective method as well...the braids provide structure that help the dreads form evenly.

  • But the base will always look braided. Maybe this is a matter of personal taste.

  • o ok well when my hair gets long enough would you suggest getting braidlocks then letting it lock up??

  • how much did the guy in the video cost in american?

  • About $600. A maintenance session one month later is included in the price.

  • how much would this cost in american dollers??

  • The price depends on the following factors: length of your hair or the desired length of the locks (we can work in extensions), how many dread locks you want (the more locks, the smaller they get).

  • Okay so it is possible to get full dreads in one day.

I ask this question because I'm writing a novel, and a character taking a year to form full dreads would cause major continuity errors that I cannot allow.

  • Yes, it is possible. It is a long, tedious process though if your hair is straight.

  • It took two people a whole day, and look how much length he lost!?

That's pretty bad. That should take 1 person a whole day and could be much longer if done properly.

  • Thanks for your comment, but I think you have not much idea about dreadlocks. The length you lose is nnothing you can influence. The thicker the dreads, the shorter they will get. It is simple math. Plus good dreads that can be washed from the first day on without unraveling are a LOT of work. I am not talking sloppy wax dreads which can be done in 2 hours.

  • nah me either, I dont bother with wax (or gel or whatever) but thickness is determined by how much hair you're dreading, more dreads=thinner dreads, it doesnt relate to length....

Evidently we just have different ways of dreading hair, and Im curious how u do it but the amount of length lost just surprised me.... :D

  • The thicker you make the dreads the shorter they get. It's just like with braiding, you lose length in the process. Also, the boy had straight hair. Maybe you are more epxerienced with very curly hair, were the loss of length is never as striking. Actually, very curly hair can look longer after the locking, because it is then stretched out more.

  • i don,t think his dreadlocks is good looking.

  • that looks nothing like the first guy and it looks fake anyway

  • Well, I can assure you it is the same guy. The dreads suit him very well and make him look more "mature" I think. Anyhow, it is all his own hair. These are not fake dreads.

  • i chalenge all loctacians in a 1 on 1 dreading session.... so that we can see who is the fastest dreader...... jah bless

  • Well, the fastest AND the best dreader ;). We don't want any messed up dread heads ;)

  • they're nice locks, man!

how long did it take for them to be put in?

  • Thank you! It took two experienced dreaders 12 hours.

  • Kein Problem! :) Ja es dauert ewig. Zu zweit oft so an die 15 - 20 Stunden. Du machst Deinen Kumpels wohl Dreadlocks nehme ich an? :)

  • That is the boy in the vid and his dreads are not fake, it is all his own hair.

    tolle arbeit

  • i want to grow dreads, it'll be my first time and i think they'll look beast under my football helmet. just one thing, what is the FASTEST way?

  • The fastest way is to go to a shop which specializes in dreading hair. Make sure they don't use wax!

  • i have just one question after your done with this process will you be able to wet your hair without it messing up

  • We take pride in the fact that our Dreadlocks can be washed from day one! We really lock your hair and not just glue it together with wax.

  • are there places that will do dreads for you???

  • Yes, we are such a place. You just have to be careful to find a good place who does not just smear a lot of wax in your hair.

  • okay, thanks

  • one love

  • they look nice but am not having locks anytime soon.marley locks were crazy looking good.woi.good job though. i can't hate

  • Thank you! :)

  • how much did dat cost

  • Personally this isnt for me, I like naturals, however These looked really good for the first day. Probably cost him a fortune too.

  • You are right, it is not cheap, because it is a lot of hard work to get them to look like this in one day. A lot of places take your money and just "glue" your hair together with wax and tell you not to wash it for months. That is not only yuck yuck, it also rarely works.

  • STFU Anybody Can Have dreads who gives a fuk tht wht ppl didnt make it ugh......gets on my nerves

  • what method?

  • dumb fuck

    dreads the proper way

    neglect

    rasta for life

not u wanna be mother fuckers

  • people without the honor of having african hair need to back comb or they will not turn out nice at all. i respect the neglect method and the rasta way, please respect other peoples' ways of dreadding. keep in mind that the rasta were not the first to dread.

  • rasta MIGHT not have been the first (i dont know the full history) but i know it wasn't white people.....thats for damn sure!

  • you're quite right. it was actually the chinese.
