  • OH GOD STOP TEACHING IM OUT OF SCHOOL ITS SUMMER F***IN BREAK AAAAAAAH MY EAARS!!!!!!!!!!............lol

  • that girl is a sow off i could tell you this but i dont. because im not a show off!!!

  • do it with rebecca black next time.

  • I know exactly how to grow my...

  • . . . What's with the sushi cat music? XD

  • Should be called "Burning Pickle"

  • nice beard

  • "That pickles boyning!" Ha...cute kids you got.

  • Cool videos. Your family is totally cool.

  • 3.25 what is she doing there?

  • AGH!!!

    THAT PICKLE IS GLOOOOOWING!!!!!!

    KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!!

  • shes one smart 10 year old

  • why did she say oh- why is ohio not in the world?

  • congrats, you burnt a perfectly edible pickle

  • what would be the minimum voltage required?

  • i think this would work better with DC

  • That girl is smarter than me lol x)

  • I love big pickles

  • omg i love this pickle

  • Oh man, what's that music in the beginning? It sounds so familiar, but I can't figure it out...

  • I'm jealous of your children.

  • may i touch your glowing pickle? lol intresting vidio shes very smart for her age

im in the 7th grade no one i know knows how to do that half of them dont know what H20 is if any on has a furncace you can get iron or from the ground with a magnet kind of sad it took me a month to figure that out lol.

  • If that's your daughter, then you're lucky to have such an intelligent kid.

Cool experiment too. It wasn't the kind of "glow" I was expecting, but I guess it still counts.

  • @Anthraxb0mb *It's not your daughter then, I guess.

  • can i eat that pickle?? lolz

  • lol sweet

  • take 2 nails hammer them into a board... place sliced pickles about 1 -2 milimeter apart and watch the arc...

  • 0:41 is like in orphan the ester

  • cool result :)

  • hey r u fucking retarded u fucking lit the damn thing on fire

  • Smart girl too!

  • A little more dangerous, but if you get a couple of long rods, pass them through a whole pickle (without touching of course) and connect your wires to the rods there will be a more full glow through out the pickle. It's a proximity and surface area thing.

    Fun experiment though! =)

  • its just burning

  • OH man, you can be more creative than that

  • isnt that just a voltaic cell

  • yup

  • fail

  • I would like to point out that there is in fact H3O (hydronium) that forms, not hydroxyde + monoatomic hydrogen. The 'acidic' hydronium flows to the lit side, and I imagine, probably releases H2, as the O is liable to oxydize the wire.

  • wow... when your kids grow up, they are going to be extremely smart. awesome!

  • Going to be? That was mean!

  • Grow up, you sound like the one still in high school. Real constructive and mature.

  • did it in biology and it is probably the worst smell ever

  • tick tack tick tack tick tack

  • ITS GONNA BLOW!!!!!

  • looks more like a pickle bomb!

  • Step away from the Pickle...

  • wat if it catches on fire

  • "It's like, burning the pickle." LOL, just what I was thinking.

  • That was a perfectly good pickle. You wasted it and you have to pay the electricity. Real smooth.

  • does that girl have a mental problem like mental retardation just her facial expretions made it seem that way. DAAR

  • coming from the person who cant spell expressions...

  • Do Diet Coke and Mentos

Or Chocolate Chips and Sprite <-- mine own invention

  • does chocolate chips and sprite work?

  • chocolate chips and sprite is a separate thing .. does not explode like mentos and diet coke. just put them in a glass + u c what happen

  • it melts/?

  • the chip sinks to the bottom, & then little pockets of dissolved CO2 nucleate and form bubbles on the chips causing them to float to the surface because they're more buoyant . when they reach the surface, there isn't enough tension to keep the bubbles intact, so they fuse with the air above, and then sink to the bottom again. it's an oscillator of sorts.

  • oh cool...ima try it once XD

  • i wanna throw those lil kids off a cliff....GOD THERE ANNOYING....i hate lil kids -_-

  • and to that, who cares about the pictures people have of their kids

  • lol? huh?

  • Is that connected to a regular AC wall outlet? If so, why does only one electrode glow?

  • lol, a little kid mores more about electricity than you.

  • wow that's awesome. your kid is clever, and i just learnt something new for the day :D

  • I C Smart Peoplez!

  • shit pickle!

  • O_o

I'd like to see that done with a puppy next.

  • Unfortunately there aren't enough ions in a puppy.

  • @wogsland What about kittens? I wanna see it with little baby kittens.

  • @wogsland

    hehe good comeback :)

  • dude, let's try it with you next time -.-'

  • ... weird.

no comment on the smoke the pickle was producing.

  • don't touch the pickle when it's glowing...YOU WILL GET SHOCKED!!! the pickle is being cooked

  • haha awesome

  • does the little girl no wut she is talkin about? no offense little girl :)

  • i think so...

  • BURNT PICKLE!!

  • shiny o.o

  • Wow thats so coolio!

  • that is so awesome did anyone eat the pickle?

  • A novelty method of preserving.. :P

  • Now is it glowing or arcing??

    Damn!! I wish I had a pickle!!

I wonder if I could use my............. Thank you!

  • glowing - arcing would pop the fuse pretty quick.

  • Damn!!! There goes my idea of a welding pickle!!!

Maybe I could use a banana! Or maybe a Cumquat!!!

  • @wogsland whats the song you used at the beginning of this video?

  • Captitol punishment for pickles has been overturned in eighteen of fifty states. Join us in our crusade to end this senseless torture. It is obvious this pickle suffered for several minutes in excruciating agony. Even the children noticed that the pickle was burning. This is cruel and unusual punishment which cannot be denied as evidenced in this video. Franky, I am appalled...

  • Love the voice in the background, "Dad, I'm eating another pickle."

  • Are you home-schooling? We are and this sounds like some things my wife does with the kids.

  • No, just augmenting.

  • Gotcha. Cool vid.

  • I think a whole pickle would do a better job than a sliced one. But I suppose the steam explosion factor would increase. Fun Stuff.

    Be Well.

  • I really loved that little experiment Brad! Please do more!!!

  • i loved doing that kind of thing with my dad when i was a kid :)

  • neato. i wouldve eaten the pickle.

  • We can make you one when you come to visit us. :)

  • sweet thanks

  • So did anyone actually wind up eating the pickle? I was half expecting the pickle to explode or something! Interesting video.

  • Fascinating. I want a glowing pickle.

  • good job Alora! I like your extro.

  • I'm not a chemish nor an electrician but ? you were hitting the pickle with an AC charge so was the pickle acting more like a poor filament in a bulb ? i.e. creating light and heat because of resistance. You can't use a GFI or the experiment would get nowhere ( I think, but don't know) but I hope you at least had the cord connected to a power bar for a quick sure off. Would it work similarly with DC ?

  • Well, the filament in a bulb is radiating energy in the visible spectrum because of it's high temperature. The pickle didn't get nearly that hot ... the light emitted is from the electrochemical reaction. Should work similarly for DC power, but I don't know if a GFI outlet would be a problem.

  • Why don't you try it? I believe the GFCI would trip. Think of it a gentleman's bet -- and another chance to make even more pickles glow! It'd make for a great experiment -- similar to Myth Busters. Your kitchen and bath should have GFCI's installed (I believe it's required by NEC specs).

  • WARNING TO OTHERS: Playing with 120VAC bare copper wires and pickles could be very dangerous. Electrocution is possible. Only perform these experiments with qualified personnel present -- you know, like Physics or Electrical guys. And kids, don't stick knives into the toaster or you'll regret it!!

  • While he's at it, he may as well go through a rheostat so as to gain a little control of the ambiance.

  • lmao! Great comment...

  • Our house is old and the codes are pretty loose in TN anyway, so I just put GFCI outlets in the kitchen this past week!
