you're rt, it is sad. but times are changing and so are attitudes- some of our top models and actresses are dark skinned; with time, the common man- and woman- will hopefully take pride in, and accept their and other's skin colors. bleach is used for more than just lightening skin, btw. I grew up in dubai, and I now live in america- I have seen women of many nationalities use bleach to lighten facial hair, not the skin color.

I totally, 150% agree. People's perceptions of Indians are so stunted by colour. If they looked in varying regions, they'd see mroe than skin tone differences, but difference in features, like in the north-east, Asam etc.

I agree, being confident is a valuable trait. But I'm not sure it's confidence. I think ppl over glorify her, she is super pretty. Kajool who did Fanaa was brilliant but the Stardust Awards gave Ash the award for Dhoom 2- which was one of the worst movies bollywood copied.
