Bewildered men, with broken lives. Its like they are marching into damnation with no idea of the horror they are about to experience. Just looking at their faces tells you everything. The first time I watched this scene, I felt like my heart broke for them.
Ah! This is seriously the greatest movie I have ever seen, many of my friends thought differently, but when I introduced them the movie they thought it was the greatest movie ever! =)
my fav parts are the ariel view and also that scene where it shows the guards coming out of the tower with the rifle. =D
ive watched this movie so many times i can mouth evry line
but its just such a beautiful movie i am not a smart man and i cannot paraphrase about this movie like some however i beleive this to be my favourite movie becasue it moves people in a special way i beleive it should have been seen by more people becasue everyone who watches it loves it i know i do
In this movie and in this scene there's the metaphor of the modern life: under our society's glossy and flawless look (what Shawshank's facade seems to be), sordidness and brutality hide (what Shawshank is: a prison)...
Everyone of us is prisoner: our Shawshank is the daily routine, the insatiable consumerism, the 'politically correct'.
Just few of us have the courage to escape, to get their Ziwataneo (at the end of the movie) so to be really free.
This is it: one of the most haunting sequences in recent US film history. Depressing, windswept Maine prison in the 1940s. Might as well have been the USSR. Thank you.
no matter how many times i rewatch this movie , i never get enough
