well i did everything except for the task manager thing. it happened to me yesterday and idk where or how it happened but i quickly searched for it in my start menu and deleted it and then i could open my programs but late lastnight my security quarantined a file from total security...so i deleted it and then it came right back and i scanned everything and deleted it again and it hasnt popped back up as of yet.....am i good or is there something else i should do?

You say to watch in HD...your HD is terrible. Can't even read your file names and such. Also, let me guess. You have UAC turned down, so it doesn't bother you. Hmm...does that file getting on your system bother you. UAC would probably alert you that the thing was installing.

better if you booted your computer right away in safemode or safemode with networking., because its easier to troubleshoot there.. once you ended the process then delete the file, mostly its on appdata folder.. it's mostly has the security tool name or random numbers.. the shift+delete it.. then search it on the registry then run a scan.. viola! you're syware free.. it really works, trust me :)

Faster Way! Just open up your task manager (CNTRL+ALT+DELETE), and look at your number/code by just scrolling over. After this, find the number in task manager and click End Process! BOOOM! Gone!

@TManTech I just got this virus, and my brothers computer got one called "System Tool" which does the same thing. I got it from a grateful dead site which I have been visiting for years. But I recommend renaming it because its easier to find. Also this virus is found in the AppData folder I believe, go to users then click on your user name and check out AppData (I think that's the name) and scroll down to find it.

Hey if you go into safe mode it is wy easyer, because you cant delete it if it won't let you delete the program. Then you can get out of safe mode by restarting computer the way you get into safe mode and then get into the recycle bin and delete the program out of the bin.

If you wait any length of time at all, it disable task manager, then you have a whole new ball game on your hands. Process Killer is usually the answer after that happens.

It worked on my friends computer. But there´s a little problem. When I´m trying to open Task manager, "Security" tool will shut it down. There is nothing I can do. I ooen Firefox, it will shut down. I open Steam, it will shut down. There simply one way to do it. I must get Recovery Disc´s and restore setting and shit, but everything on my computer will be deleted, except for Internet and everything that is normally on my computer. Security tool is fucked up, the guy who made it should be in jail

I'm freee at last!!!only problem I was having was that I could'nt find it in Task Manager(security tool),It was hiding,so I minimized Task Manager and opened Security Tool and it popped up in Task Manager(the 8 sumtin no.) and I proceeded with your other instructions,had a little hiccup in deleting it from the file location because it was running elsewhere,but I just tracked it down and deleted it in the hidden icons tab and then returned to the file loction and deleted it!!
