Thanks great tutorial, it was clipping at 4:58 though, even though I was able to hear the difference it was still a bit muddy because it was clipping.
I couldn't see clearly but 9 db boost at 2.5k...twice!? Do you still have ears!?
Just try panning one guitar 70% left, the other 70% right and turn them down. You now have space in the middle for the vocal and a much better encompassing sound.
To add the clarity if you have to, do as the video suggests but cut small, say 2 db around 2k on the guitars and boost if you have to, 2 db on the vocals .
The panning and volume is more important in that situation. Check results with good headphones.
dude by, cutting 2.5k on both gat tracks and then boosting the same freq in your master buss you are effectively putting the guitars back at o db (flat eq) and just boosting the vocal at 2.5, why not just boost the vocal track at 2.5 on the vocal track...? its the same thing
Whoa ! u edit music with vegas ? i got or have sony movie maker and its like the smaller version of the REAl like 500 dolla Vegas , but why not just do that stuff on sony Acid ? (now i record with Sonar 6 XL)

what do u use to get the vocals more real quality than a raw quality from the mic?
begjon 3 years ago
Make sure you have a good mic. Source is important. Record it at 24 bits/48Khz or more if you can.
Start by cutting manually or gating to get rid of headphone bleed and alike.
DeEsser, to get rid of harsh S sounds.
EQ, to shape the sound.
Compression to smooth out the performance.
Delay to add ear candy.
Reverb to add depth and character.
Chain these effects in that order. Do as little of each as possible to keep the sound natural.
