I adore all the three members of the Andrews Sisters, but Patty Andrews is my favorite singer. Her voice is truly amazing; I never mistake her voice for another's.
Lol, I also have "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" with Bing Crosby and The Andrews Sisters... I'll try and get all the Christmas songs up by this Christmas.
If this is the 1950 version, then it's also supposedly the very first vocal version of the song. The Boston Pops Orchestra (conducted by Arthur Fiedler) released the very first version of the song one year earlier (though of course it was an instrumental).
I do agree, however there is no mention of Christmas in the whole song, infact, some say the mention of "pumpkin pie" around 1:38 suggests it's thanksgiving.
Interesting thought. I eat pumpkin pie for Christmas, and it is general knowledge to be a Christmas song. I suppose it could be thanksgiving if you live in a place that has snow on thatnksgiving
wonderful.....thx for posting....love, love, LOVE the Andrew sisters...
