There are actually three different bows shot in this. The loundest one that sounds similar to a firearm is a crossbow. The other two are compound bows. One is ancient and the other is now only about 5 years old using limbsaver sound absorbers in different areas. The crossbow and the older compound are lound but the newer of the bows is actually very quiet. But all in all you are correct, the sound is amplified into an wavelength we as humans can hear better than the normal wavelength.
I think he's using standard 110 grain field tips. But if you mean the nock's they're a lighted nock that turns on when the arrow is fired. I don't know the brand name but I can find out.
