he would be such a wonderful booker... why, oh why, doesn't tan or wwe give him that fucking job already? hasn't he earned it by now? jesus h christ, vince...
its amazing that tatanka had a long undefeated streak in wwf when he first came in that lasted like a year it seemed and then by the end of his run he had become a big time jobber
looks like tatanka just finished a bulking up cycle and is still carrying a lot of water retention and therefore looks bloated. Jake on the other hand, well obviously they told him to keep the shirt on for obvious reasons.
Jake looks pretty old here, and its just 5 years from 1991 when he was great.
Tatankas looks a bit fat, look at his cheast when he stands at the side. I liked them both, but here Tatanka looks a bit like toukozunas younger cousin.
Jake Roberts as a heel is one of my favorit wrestlers of all time. But maybe nice for him to end his wwe career as a face....
Wow, the snake across Tatanka's barrel chest. and the native american's trunks exposed with the leather flap over his belly. Wow. TOO HOT . more of tatanka getting abused!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
jake was known more for the snake he used to bring in the ring rather than his wrestling skills... he didn't have any unique finishing move... I mean ddt is something which is used by everyone... I think his move should have been named the snake charmer or something...
I don't think we should be so hard on Jake. The man led a very difficult life, and he is also upfront. He's never made excuses for all of his problems. As he said, he should be judged by his successes; not by his problems. The fact is that he's still alive. The same cannot be said of so many other of his contemporaries, like Rick Rude, the Boss man and Hercules.
@owaisinus its something that is used by everyone NOW, but at the time it was HIS! Dino Bravo used the side suplex as his finisher back in the early 80's. That's used by everyone too. Some classic moves just get adopted into everyday wrestling. it happens. pop quiz "genius": what's DDT stand for?
joined the million dollar corporation at summerslam 94. the storyline was that ted dibiase convinvced lex luger to join the million $ corporation and tatanka believed that luger really did join.
i'm so glad to see jake back in the wwf at this poin in time. but, why would vince hire jake back when jake's so overweight and hiding his body with a baggy green t-shirt? why not let jake get back in shape and then give him tv time?..oh, wait! i forgot..it's vince mcmahon..never mind..
why doesn't vince ever mention the history of wrestling when commentating back in the mid 90s? didn't mention that snake faced dibease at wm6, and at 2:20 when jake crossed his heart, vince just chuckles a little when he says 'trust me'.
just like jake used to following his interviews...though i woudl disagree with vince about roberts being a long time favourite...the cobra attack on randy savage was the pure evil that every heel character should try to emulate...
He tricked Lex Luger and the fans in the events leading to Summerslam 95 (Undertaker vs. Undertaker) There was a long storyline saying that Lex sold out his fans and sided with Dibiase. Long story short, at summerslam tatanka and luger fought, and tatanka revealed that he was the one who sided with the million dollar man. He became heel that night.
Yeah it hapend in the mid 1990's. After he lost he unbeating straek, he then turnned heel and joinned the Million Dollar man's group of fighters. I hope this sort of answers your question.
Jake was way past his prime here. Never should have attempted a comeback at the time. Same goes for the Ultimate Warrior's mid-90s run...very lackluster.
You must be Canadian, so here it is... The Hart family is huge to your people, in America they're all just another wrestler. Im mean come on, you have Gretzky and Bret, and thats all. We have thousands of sports heros. Jake put Austin over and Bret just finished what Jake started - thats how it went! When Jake was in his prime he was much more of a draw than Bret. AND when Bret was the champ NO ONE WATCHED WWE THEN!!!!! In Canada he's the man, in the US Brets just another wrestler!!!
Even being out of shape, Jake Roberts was one of my top five stars on the WWF roster at this time.

@hubertgreen Jake didn't play the face too well here, I can agree. But during his face run from 1987 to 1991, he played a great one.
