  • I played 1st trombone in our high school band a hundred years ago and I loved this song because really featured the low brass sections--and it was a b@@@h to play well. Practice, practice!

  • This is one of the coolest marches for low brass, especially tuba. It is the most epic part, what with all the chromatic runs. I played this in 8th grade to.

  • Its great this song hehe, the basses are so good hehe

  • I'm playing this in badn on flute, its challenging for a song made in the 1890's.

  • You're pretty ignorant, aren't you?

  • everyone is ignorant and the song was made in 1895

  • I meant in regards to the fact you said it was challenging for a piece written in the 1890's. If you can't draw my connotation from that, there's not much hope for you defending your intelligence.

  • It is a challenging song to play, I enjoy playing it in band too.

  • i was at disney world and they were playing this on the dumbo ride...lol

  • AWESOME piece love to play, I'm a trumpet and i actually like playing the runs, which is kind of wierd i usually like the playing loud part

  • ha! i love this song! i'm in 7th grade. i had to play this for hounor band! this is really good! the trombones rock! i however play the tenor sax. the chromatic runs are soooooo much fun in this song!!!

  • i playd this 2nite in a concert and i rate us as about a 6 and them as like a 9 ! those runs are crazy . Im a bass clarinet player

  • of course we didn't play this during marching band season we've been playing it during concert season

  • low brass could have even shorter articulation though, but i understand how hard it is to play that piece short because i'm a junior and highschool and our school is playing that right now, i've got my part pretty much down solid now i'm a euphonium (baritone for those of you who don't know what a euphonium is)

  • nice job on a difficult piece, maybe a little more dynamics though, not a lot cause it already sounds very good.

  • I just got this march from my unit.....the part is crazy.....

  • This march is a woodwind's fantasy.....all those trills and the register.....

  • I need to memorize the whole piece in 2 days =D

  • im playing this march next year :D

  • I am a trombonist and I love this piece. I always get a nice workout with those chromatic scales.

  • Yeah, our low brass and low woodwinds enjoyed the chromatic scales too. :)

  • Hah, I love doing all those chromatic runs. Trombones ftw! xD

  • Explain this please? I completely disagree.

  • Yes, please explain.

People who don't open themselves to contrasting styles are NOT true musicians just so you know...

I'm guessing you DON'T appreciate music, no?

  • i love this march! i played it my sophomore year in high school! bombasto is that march

  • same here, and i am a sophmore haha

  • that's alright....kudos! i am a sophomore in college now, so it was like 4 years ago that i played this march and i still KNOW IT FROM MEMORY, COULD PROBABLY PLAY FASTER THAN THE WAY THEY ARE PLAYING IT....lol

  • this is never played enough ... it's awesome... superthankx.....
