Get the i5 2500k, 8gb ddr3 g skill sniper ram, 1tb hdd gtx 560 sli corsair 600t and for mobo probably go with the gigabyte p67 and yes u can get all that for about 1500 bucks. I am actually building a new system for the summer with the next gen i7 cpus and waiting until q4 for the gtx 600 series gpus

@turgo82 The difference is PCI 1.0 works at 8x of a PCI 2.0. I forgot if the 680i board is x16 1.0 across 2 slots, but if it is you effectively have half the bandwidth vs PCI x16 2.0. To answer your original question, yes it will work, at an expense.

@TyE2ek1eL01 Your system sounds like a beast. I am just using standard NVidia recommended SLI method. I would suggest overclocking your cpu when you feel ready to do so, seeing how that can greatly improve performance. Also, what drivers are you using.

I got i7920 (slightly overclocked), 2 of 460gtx 1GB, 2HHDs, 6x Noctua NF-P12 fans and my Antec 750W is barely coping with providing enough of power to my system. MY PSU is fully functional and I have no probs with overheating.

If you're planning to play games on max. settings (res. 1920x1200, AAx, etc.), you better look after getting 850W (Corsair) or greater unit.

I've got similar MB (Gene II) and the GPU1 seems to always suffer from higher temps (SLI ports are too close - one of the main cons of mAtx).

@TheXtremeTech When gaming, I get on average 65 c on primary and about 60 c on secondary card. This is while playing Crysis tho. My idle temps are 35 on primary and about 38 or 39 on secondary. I'm getting a new case, my current case (Antec 900) is too small for good cable management and thus resulting in higher temps. I might be getting the new In Win Dragon Rider case, its huge, and can house 60 120mm fans on the side XD
