  • How to Start an epic movie

    Circle of Life: Lion King

Bells of Notre Dame: Hunchback of Notre Dame

    Deliver Us: Prince of Egypt

This is Halloween: Nightmare Before Christmas

    etc.

  • I'm Agnostic, but this was still a good movie. The artistry involved and the acting was damn good.

  • Ofra, you better sang girl. RIP

  • God I love this movie, and I don't have a religious bone in my body. I sincerely hope they continue doing Bible adaptions, I wonder what they would do next? :3

  • @hinasakukimi It's been years since Dreamworks has made a Bible adaption movie, I don't think they're gonna make anymore :/

  • if u stare at the picture long enough it starts to move :O

  • This and "The Bells of Notre Dame" are how you open a movie.

  • I remember watching this in year 8 (seven years ago!) in RE, the soundtrack has always stuck in my head.

  • Whether it happened or not is irrelevant. The oral tradition of storytelling is the most ancient form of culture humans have. We use it to describe the things we cannot explain, teaches lessons, and when told properly can make you laugh, cry, and give you goosebumps all in the same story.

  • @klasted Agreed 100%

  • I tear up every time I hear this song! So beautiful, it reminds one of what the Hebrews suffered, under the pharaohs.

  • I believe the Prince of Egypt is one of the most perfect animated movies ever created. Everything is done so perfectly. Everything, from the smooth animation to the strong character development to the flawlessly paced plot, is great. The music is strong, memorable, beautiful. The emotions are real. The artistic liberties are stylistically placed, and they make the original Exodus that much more powerful. I love this movie, and it will always be one of my favorites.

  • I'll admit I'm a Hans Zimmer fan and I'm proud of it!! WHO ELSE AGREES

  • I'm an atheist, but I love this movie. I love the way they portray the Hebrew people as strong, resilient, and proud. (Also, I was happy they made Moses very brown!) I think it a wonderful retelling of the story of Exodus. This is a movie that can appeal to everybody. It is an absolutely wonderful film.

  • -The Prince of Egypt

-Spirit the Stallion of The Cimarron

    -How To Train Your Dragon

Are probably the best Dreamworks animated movies.

  • This is such a powerful movie! I loved it when I was a kid and still do!

  • get tears

  • Go to this website: sites.google.com/site/truthmarcmora97/

  • Did anyone else get goosebumps throughout the whole song?

  • I always cry when I watch this movie

  • i remember my mom read me the story of moses when i was little and i cried i felt bad so she bought me this movie to show me he was ok

  • This part of the movie is EVIL! Havent seen it for a few years, but then it always made me cry...good movie though! its my one and only favorite biblical movie

  • I'm not religious in any way but I really do love this movie. Mostly for the music <3

  • I remember dad bringing this on a video cassette..Time passed by so fast ! Like many people are writing in their comments, I miss my childhood :(

  • I miss my childhood...so much! :'(

  • This is such a chilling and yet moving song. gives me goosebumbs every time I hear it.

  • Hehe, I remember grabbing my teddy bear wrapping him up in my little blankets, putting the wrapped teddy bear in my laundry basket and sliding it across the rug like Moses's mom did.

  • @Bellacullen6621 thats sooo cute :)

  • @popmerde i know right!!

  • i watched this movie in 6th grade while we were learning about egypt. i wish i had the dvd hmm maybe ill ask it for christmas next year lol! anyway great movie and great music

  • @SuperGuineapigTv Its such a great movie!

  • How does Dreamworks go from this and Road to El Dorado to stuff like Shrek IV, The Bee Movie, and constant dance party endings?

  • @Sabatuar I was wondering that......

  • @Sabatuar I ask myself the same kind of questions refering to the music industry. For instance Mariah Carry. An example from The Prince of Egypt - how did she go from singing with Whitney Houston ("When you believe", may her soul rest in peace) to singing with Justin-who the fuck?!- Bieber on some stupid x-mas song. Yet another examle is Snoop Dog. From Tupac R.I.P to Kate Perry -.- greed is corrupting them.

  • @Sabatuar Yeah, that was a dark time, lol. But I freaking love the Kung-Fu Panda series. It's the perfect balance of serious and comedy, I think. I like that Po is their new mascot, and KFP2 was actually better than the first.

  • @Sabatuar; It's horrible, but Shrek 4 made money.

  • @Sabatuar Spite. Katzenburg's bitterness with the Disney company policy could only hold back for so long, and after a while he was able to push it out of his system. That's how we're getting good Dreamworks movies again, by finding inspiration beyond hatred of Disney, and embracing broad genres. Like Megamind, Kung Fu Panda, and How to Train your Dragon. Of course the sequels are now fueled by marketability, so the bones are there, but the fire's gone.

  • @Sabatuar competition with disney has made the two companies change their tactics over time to appear better

  • @Sabatuar Hey, the Bee Movie was adorable

  • @Sabatuar because fools run the world

  • religionen sind zu schonen sie sind für moral gemacht da ist nicht eine ehre lehre kein gott hat klüger gedacht...

  • @stevenkorean256 was it possibly in ms.whittens room?

  • Hey silent? I'm pretty sure in the story of Moses ,freeing God's people, it's the ten plagues. you a Christian or do you have a religion?

  • I luv this part 3:24

  • i justed watch the movie in school i social sutdies.

  • 2:23-2:43, makes me cry every time

  • @bbguy17 I crie evrytim

  • Hey insanityftw! So the killing the oldest son of ever family was fair, if anyone remembers their bible stories when they were younger, God sent Ten plagues, he had sent the other plagues as warnings, nine times he was telling Pharaoh to let his people go, and it was the last plague that let the people of Israel go. You would think all those crazy plagues would have convinced pharaoh that there is a God and that he was serious when he sent Moses saying 'let my people go' yeah?

  • @lifebyedeath Actually, it's twelve.

  • @SilentGlaceon94 I'm afraid you're not quite right. There are only ten: 1. Water, which turned to blood 2. Frogs 3. Lice 4. Flies or wild animals 5. Pestilence 6. Unhealable boils 7. Thunder and hail 8. Locusts 9. Darkness 10. Death of the newborn. I'm pretty sure that's all, unless you can think of two others, although I don't expect you can ;). (I'm not sure if I've put them in the right order; I'm terribly sorry if I haven't.)

  • @SilentGlaceon94 There were 10 plagues.

  • @lifebyedeath Hm yeah, the Pharaoh was an idiot.

  • Shivers...

  • I am an atheist, but I love this movie. That, and Joseph King Of Dreams. Religion incorporated into art and stories is gorgeous. The soundtrack is great, and I don't think that beliefs should matter in order to appreciate this movie.

  • @GothicNightDreams That's because Truth is independent of one's religious beliefs.

  • @dougmoerhoffman What do you mean by "the truth?" Do you mean this story? If so, then, remember, that there is no sufficient evidence that any of this happened, besides "faith," which is belief without evidence, and therefore can't qualify as "truth." Belief is different from knowledge. I'm sorry if I sounded rude or if I misinterpreted you. I really don'

t wish to get into a religious battle, because that would have absolutely nothing to do with this gorgeous song.

  • @GothicNightDreams nah it just hits home when you consider it truth :)

  • @GothicNightDreams Being an atheist shouldn't effect how you enjoy this film. If someone truly hates Christian, or any religious story, it's a separate decision to their beliefs.

  • @deityofanimee Lol being an atheist did not affect how I enjoyed this film at all. That's the point I was trying to make. I don't hate Christians or Christianity, and I agree with you.

  • @GothicNightDreams well said i say the same as you well put :)

  • @GothicNightDreams I thank you for your respect! I am a follower of Christ myself, but I agree with you. Religion should have no bearing on your perception of art. I wish the movie industry would go back to making such wonderful works of art like this, instead of the crap they put out today...

  • This Movie Never Gets Old, I Don't Care how many years its been!

  • I cannot stop the chills from coming when I hear this epic song! :-)

  • The first half sounds like the Kazakhstani national anthem from Borat. lol

  • catchy song

  • This song always makes me cry, thinking about having to give your baby up to save them from death, hoping that someone takes care of him or her like they deserve.

  • @manxhedghog wow amazing! get the whip crack, and youre set!

  • am love istorian animacions

  • DELIVER US! To the promised land! :( This movie is so sad tooo but so goood

  • I love how this movie isn't even about religion. Well I mean it is, but AH okay so what I'm trying to say is, I love how people of all religions enjoy it. It shows that God is about peace, and fairness, and nothing more. And to me, a non-believer, it really makes me happy. :)

  • @insanityftw1234 Yeah, causing newborns to die is peace & fairness. If a man did that to your family you'd want him chopped. Are you really a nonbeliever?

  • @LisaSpringfield Idk, man. Just confused. And after having thought about it, I hate the part when Ramses's son dies. But didn't he too do that in the beginning of the movie? But then again, shouldn't God have been the better person? But he's not a person, so idk. Hah. What say?

  • @insanityftw1234 That's fine. It's OK to be confused and questioning about religion.

I actually love this film because it's very touching & magical, even though I believe everything in it is fictitious.

  • @LisaSpringfield Yeah. I guess it's just a nice movie to watch, ignoring all religious aspects of it.

  • Christian or not, this is a great movie (With incredible music, I must add.)

  • as a jewish girl and israeli i LOVEEEEE..... IT AND CRYING WHEN I REMEMMBER THIS STORY AND HEARING THE SONG

  • Mud, Sand, Water, Straw - FASTER! CRACK! FASTER! !

  • This song is so powerful! I love this movie! =)

  • this song is so beautiful.

  • I saw this in theaters when I was nine, it has been my favorite movie since, even more so these past years. Hans Zimmer really has created something incredible here.

  • The harmonies, oh the beautiful harmonies, they give me chills every time.

  • hello childhood. long time no hear.

  • @rulerofcheeze I still do! :D

  • I'm not religious but I like Egypt!

  • I remember watching this over and over...I watched this instead of going to Church!! I was still young then XD

  • I'm an atheist, but this is why I love religion

  • It's too bad, the Jews asked for God to deliver them to the promise land, and when he did, they still blamed him.

  • @Skittlezrock161 it was the Israelites...Jews weren't around yet...bt I get what you're saying

  • do u guys know dat wat the mom says means "my good and tender son, dont b frightened and dont b scared"?...u guys probably do -_-

  • Hans Zimmer RLZ!!! ~

  • i member watching this when i was small good movie

  • To the people arguing over whose religion this story belongs to, it is mentioned in the quran, and in the bible (I am not sure if the story is slightly different in the quran). It is also apart of judaism, so please STOP arguing about whose religion it is apart of

  • @kesara1215 Historically it's the jews. Moses was a Jew, the Jews had it 2,000 years in Tora before the quran and the christians (who had it 200 years before the muslims) are just jews who believe the messiah had come.

  • Ofra Haza has such a beautiful and special voice. It is sad that she is no longer with us. May her memory be a blessing.

  • @Lizzie455

Did you know that she sang all versions of this song in the movie in all languages? Amazing!

  • @simbelmyne23 that takes talent, I'm impressed that she was able to pull that off

  • This song is so beautiful, I've loved it since I was a little kid

  • hans zimmer is a beast!

  • I have been looking for all those memorable, unforgettable film scores I heard when I was 5 years old, you know, Lion King and this one for instance.

And you know what they have in common?

They are all composed by HANS ZIMMER!

  • @quizzisation OMG YES. EXACTLY. YES YES. PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN AND OH SORRY FOR MY EXCITEMENT, JUST. omg. yes. ;-;

I LOVE THAT MAN. Seriously. Spirit, The Lion King, The Prince of Egypt, and so so more... That man is awesome. Hans Zimmer forever <3

And btw, if you like that man, I adore you. Just give me a hug ~hugs~

  • how come i cant find these songs on itunes. and i cant buy the europe version ones so FRUSTRAATING!!

  • Jangolena this is dream works not Disney

  • One of my favorite Disney Movies <3

  • @Jangolena It's actually DreamWorks, but yes it is fantastic =)

  • @SamiNotSam Oh yea, I like found this out right after I commented lol :D

  • the epic moment when you see that one of your favourite childhood soundtrack was made by the guy whose soundtracks already filled your iPod before. (hope this was correct english :/)

  • @DarthSiones Hans Zimmer? ^^

    I love that man ^^

  • @narutoandanimefa ofc Hans Zimmer. He's the best :D

  • @DarthSiones sure he is! I love that man :3

  • The power and emotion that one feels from this song is absolutely uncanny!!

  • Maybe the movie doesn't give a 100% accurate description of the biblical and textual sources, but in a way, I have to imagine that this movie presents a good perspective and idea of what it must have been like for moses to go through what he went through

  • @75flash

Um. Yeah. It's great as a fairytale. As a tale of wonder, it's probably one of my favourites. The parting of the sea, the seven plagues, it's great. When you start looking at it from a moral standpoint, though, and it falls short. Way below the margin.

  • @Pitchguest

uhh the story of Moses freeing the jews is not supposed to be moral story (watch "Joseph: King of dreams" for a moral Jew/Christian story) it's supposed to show how much of a bad-ass god is.

  • @theend1011 If you think God is so great maybe you shouldn't swear. It's not very nice. :)

  • @KonekoKi

well actually I'm a deist. But like I said. It's not about morals. It's a old jewish story (real or fiction depending on beliefs) about God answering their prayers, and how powerful he can be.

  • @theend1011 Haha it's true - God is the original bad ass...

  • 6:17 - 6:38 Beautiful.. Thanks to Hans Zimmer !

  • 4:28 is where I get chills.

  • I'm just seeing this movie last week and it was...epic and I fell in love with the music

  • This is such a sad yet beautiful song

  • Its sad that religions have so much in common yet hate, ignorance and fear persevere.

  • @Hashpotato It's unfortunate but true:(Religion should bring peace.

  • @weirdofun1 Religion's just a title. God should bring peace.

  • @elvaelvirababe Yes.You're right.

  • @elvaelvirababe God doesn't make peace.Only men do.

  • @Cheburashka207 i'm sorry but you are a idiot only god can bring men peace. Men bring nothing

  • @Hashpotato The abolition of religion in total is the way to go.

  • The opening has always scared me. It made me so sad growing up.

  • エジプトの私達の王子を提供!!!! This is such a sweet movie <3 and moving as well.

  • I love this movie and the soundtrack!

  • this my shit

  • i want to cry always in the scene where the mom gives away moses

  • I' am modern slaves

  • Arrrgh. Why don't I have this album?!

  • @TheEvanescent1994 Definitely! Right at that moment of this song, I always get uncontrollable shivers down my spine.

  • y does this song make me cry

  • Comment removed

  • I'm Catholic and i know pretty well how this story begins and ends and i would gladly enter in any debate that you may have, noonagurl :)

  • @PhantomRaider100 No you don't. We all don't know anything.

  • Dreamworks should heavily consider re-releasing this instead of trying to come up with a shitty sequel to their newer movies.

  • I have nothing with the story, but that music...it's beautiful.

  • 2:10 is Where it gets Epic.

  • FIGHT SOPA

  • OMG FAV CHILD HOOD MOVIE RIGHT HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3 THIS SOOO MUCH

  • @esmith4646 mine too.\

  • Chills.

  • best chorus ever!!!!

  • que temazo
