  • hahahahaha oh , i love wearing my helmet without the strap that holds it on XD

  • the people who talk bad about Nick Skelton are a shitheads.

    amazing rider

  • Why do these videos have to turn into people's personal arguments? Come on, guys! If you have to dis someone about how they ride, message them personally.

To be on topic, Apollo was an amazing jumper. Though he was on the heavier side, he made up for it with a tight tuck of his front legs and a very strong, solid jump sequence. He also has a beautiful ground covering stride. :)

  • Panelo.....so let me get this straight, you've never ridden Apollo, never ridden at the Olympic level,...but your going to criticize Nick Shelton...lawd have mercy you got balls. I will guarantee that you would not be able to handle Apollo with your softened and supple approach. These are Grand Prix and Pruissance Jumpers.....the likes of which VERY FEW riders ever get to that level to ride, let alone comment on.

  • Fab memories

  • Gorgeous horse, lots of talent. My only complaint is that the rider is really heavy-handed on that bit! Seriously overboard on a delicate part of the horse. If you really feel like you need to work that hard to control your horse, go back to basics and work on exercises to soften and supple up.

  • that is one GORGEOUS horse who LOVES his job!

  • what happened to all the natural jumping courses like this their are only 3 i know of La Baule, spruce medows and Hickstead. For me they are more challenging and a bit more of a thrill to watch. just my personal oppinion : )

  • i'm buggered haha!

  • his balance is absolutely amazing

  • I LOVE the Hickstead Derby and there's nothing that i like more than seeing a big horse like this winning it :)))

  • Yes i dont care a about the thumbs, even with this stupid new lay out I cant see my freaking thumbs, but its true, sawing hurts, even he's a very good rider, I really think that! But that sawing part is just out of order, if u are riding at world professional horsejumping, u dont need that

  • @maritsada sorry, i don't want to get into a fight about this, but, although it might not be the best, could you jump round here clear, or even just ride any of his horses?! because they won't be easy to ride! i can assure you that! x

  • @BethAndMot Hmhm that's OK! I know the horses are not easy to ride, but if u can have a good connection with your horse and Ur a strong rider u don't need the sawing, u can slow your horse down with your body.. (sorry English is hard for me) I know its asked allot, but just sawing is NOT good, it has to be possible to make a clear round without sawing! This is not about me, but about the horse and the rider!

  • @maritsada i suppose so :) lol sorry xxxx

  • @maritsada - Apollo was a big strong horse. Nick won International speed comps., Derby's, Pruissances, Top Grand Prix's, and Championship medals with him. Nick Skelton was, is and will always be, one of the World's greatest show jumping riders - I don't think too many little girls could have rode Apollo clear around Hickstead.

  • @sainglain Yes it is, but there are people who are training and training a horse without something in there mouth, so it is possible to do. But international riders choose for the easy way, that's ok but now they going a step farther, hurting the horse by sawing.

Its not that i don't think they are great and that its a damn pretty horse, its just that i don't like the sawing!

Btw im not a little girl :P..

  • @maritsada I've had to saw on my pony's mouth once, I hated doing it but he was just trucking me around a course, I have a few blood blisters and my hands were red raw afterwards he was that strong (out of character) I tried just picking his head up and letting him run (don't mind the running, he was shoving his head between his legs). He has a strong bit in as it is, so next time we put a palem on him. It worked to well, went back to his old bit and he was an angel :P

  • @maritsada i no people gave you for thumbs down bur i gace you tumbs up XD what hes doing is sawing, riders do it to get the horses attention and they saw back and forth and yes i bet it does hurt. but this is an amazing rider better then me so who am i to judge

  • this horse is fuckin awsome .. and nick skelton is one of the best riders .. this is about 20 years ago .. and he is still one of the best

  • amazing horse and rider!!!! x

  • That horse is amazing. And huge! He just eats the ground.

  • Wow! A great rider controlling a beautiful, careful, and special horse. Amazing ride.
