nip slip at 3:01..we use to watch videos with the whole family in the 80's, when ever that part came on, we used to cheer and laugh...mom,dad, everyone...good times
You can tell this song is honestly from real-life experience, because the older you get, the more it makes sense -- not just what the lyrics say, but how the lyrics and music go together. After a while, the thigs that seemed so terribly urgent as a youngster become a mildly bluesly pop-rock song that's more thab a little bit silly even when everything's going wrong.
@prophet59 I hear you and man oh man people back then had no idea how good they had it. You know you really don't realize what you have until you don't have it anymore!
This song from Huey Lewis is so fantastic THIS IS IT from the 80 years, bring to my mind unforgettable memories from my childwood, that time, when everything that things i did ,was just for fun.
ok,,OK ,, I'll be Honest...The only thing I remember from this video (watching it in 85), , was That "Beautiful Women" walking away @ 3:41-3:47..OMG , What a Wonderful Butt-Shot ! (sorry you-tube ladies).. No shame on my Game.
My favorite pop song. Ever. I discovered this song back when it first came out, and have been adoring it for well over 25 years. It's almost a perfect song, and the video is terrific. Huey Lewis and the News were masters of telling stories through their videos just as they were through the interplay of their music and lyrics--both seem to be lost arts in today's pop music.
Actually, for me ; this isn't old time music. I grew u on elvis and ricky Nelson. Very glad to not that many of today's kids are sick of the sxhxixt that is being served up to them in the guise of music
I watch alot of these old videos from when i was in my teens and read the posts and i never knew that there were so many of the younger people that think that todays music is crap...i think that the older stuff is less complicated..more inoccent..there were less things grabbing for your attention..
Huey Lewis and the News are easily one of the most talented bands to come out of the 80's. Their harmonies alone show that all members are talented musicians, something rarely found in music today.
This was when music videos were worth watching. Now they all suck ,no more story lines. And that's when they actually show a video MTV sucks really bad these days. VH1 classic is the way to go!
Do yourself a HUGE favor: Unplug from the internet for a month. Go for a 15 min jog every day, then exercise; do 3 cycles of pushups and chinups 2 x a week. Get some fresh air. Find a girlfriend. Leave the rest of us folks alone.
I also suggest that you invest in some good music. Read something worthwhile, instead of the slimy porn you are so into. Now if anyone else reading this thinks I am giving bad advice to this reprobate, I will stand corrected
porn involves nudity and touching. so that is incorrect. and to lash someone for their weight is your own insecurities playing out loud. For you to try and slander someone shows a lack of respect for one's self and others. so that too is incorrect. Do you stand corrected? sit erected? find offense to the words i say or just have a large amount of apathy?
You are just another typical mouthy little internet troll. Since you have no muscles in your fat old body, you cannot assert yourself in real life. Instead you make yourself a hero (in your own eyes)by posting cheap shots at internet members whose views tend to differ from yours. I see that I am not the only one who believes these things about you.
Yeah, that or Hawaiian Tropic. I can near taste the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk pizza slices and Blue Raspberry Icee. I remember way back when The Lost Boys was being filmed there. I had to be a little dude. 6 at least for sure. It came out the next year. My brother's ex gf at the time was working with my Mom so she went with my parents and I. She wanted to go watch them film the part with the guy playing the Sax so I just stuck around playing dumb games like that Clown teeth one or frogs.
When I was in S/Cruz, I was looking to meet some women. I was in my 30's but anyone from 20 to 32 worked ok, but funny thing about all that... Santa Cruz was a terrible place for babes
That was in '78, and I headed South to San Diego. Same story.
Came back to Vancouver, hit the beach; and it was like shangri-la.. kind of makes me wonder why so much fuss is made about California
I was just a lil kid even a toddler when this came out. but i heard it on the radio a few months ago and have liked it ever since. the lyrics are so meaning full. Do singer even wrte songs this powerfull anymore?
Fools and slanderers are for ever saying 'what they heard.' Where did you 'hear' this info, The National Enquirer?
They survive because of people like you.

Your hate would be more personal without the internet, much less youtube to spread it out. Plus, you'd be stuck with buying all your music, bootlegged or retail, cassette or CDs. Plus, there's be a very scarce supply of computers to use, and nowhere near as advanced as we have today. No e-mail, no IM, no online message boards...it's the kind of thing that makes me appreciate the time we live in, at least technologically. There's so much we've overcome.
Great video..it brings back a flood of memories of better times. I guess they wouldn't have been wearing SPF50 sunscreen though, so you can almost SMELL the melanomas
So they can all be in the music video? Just kidding.
Nah, i would have thought this was done on purpose as to add emphasis to the point that everyone is out enjoying themselves on a sunny day, but also to draw attention to the fact he is single (they all seem to be families or couples).
Huey Lewis and the News usually make a joke of their music videos in some way or another. Since this one seems so serious in tone, they added something really silly at the end

Huey Lewis and The News still tour, they do something like 70-80 shows per year all over the U.S. And they just did a few shows in Japan a couple of months ago.
yeah, it was filmed in central america. not sure what country but the city is santa cruz. i think it might have a sister-city of a similar name in a place called kaleeforneea..?...not really sure if i have the name right...think it's part of the u.s. like puerto rico.
