Although, I have to say too that I share the disappointment over the lack of new guitar videos. My major is Electronic Production & Design, and I'm a video game scoring minor, so I'm constantly composing and producing but a lot less time for guitar covers heh. how do you get that raspy feeling to go away? i can only growl for like 30 seconds then i have to cough :/

thing is i growl very low, almost like the pitch of a deep pig squeal, but its a guttural growl im trying to work on

@grimmenigma949 It just takes practice and time, do a little bit everyday until it hurts, but don't destroy your throat. Also aim to have the air coming from your diaphragm and not your throat, that might be why it hurts so much. When I first started screaming, to get tone, someone told me to 'bark like a dog' that helped a lot for some reason aha.

@annieshred i use proper technique, i growl just fine...like i can sound like randy blythe but, its just when i go ultra low, when i try to sound like corpse grinder and then i get this scratchy-tickle in the bottom of the back of my throat.

listen to brainlust, i want those highs and lows in my arsenal but only for emphasis... i can already squawk, growl, scream, scream. pig squeal. i just need to master my guttural roars and grunts,

@grimmenigma949 Its easier the more you do it. But you have to get it to come from your diaphragam like Annie said. If it hurts at all you should stop. That means your doing it wrong. If it hurts it can kill your voice. But if you do it right, it gets better the more you practice. Randy Blythe smokes tons of cigarettes too, so the raspiness from that helps him alot. Plus hes been doing this since the late '90s. Annie is amazing for a girl, too. Most girls cant even go that deep let alone stay it

i can do high screams, screeches and squawks like a fucking boss though.

@hb4eth brainlust has equal range of high and lows, it just seems like they sing in the high mostly just cause he has various other techniques he used but he only used 3 deep growls

good example though, i had already watched the video so i knew what you were getting at before i watched it.
