  • I have a Scott sts 8wt

Im goin on the Grande Rond & Wallawa..

  • Nice release and nice fish.

  • very nice fish

  • Nice! Is that a Sage FLi rod? I just ordered a 7wt last night.

  • it is a sage Fli. nice rod for hatchery steelhead, but it was little light for the 12 lb wild fish. all in all i love the rod though, joy to cast.

  • I always thought the weight of your rod did not relate to the size of fish your catching, but the size of fly your tossing(weight).

  • So the weight of the rod is related to both the ability of the rod to tose heavier flys and line but it also has to do with the rods ability to turn a fish. the pressure exerted by a 9 weight bent in half on a fish is greater than the pressure of a 5 weight for example and therefore it is easier to land big fish with big rods.
