Just want to point out i take no glee whatsoever in talking about fellow soldiers and other nations losses. Having spent 4 months in Sangin i know it is a horrible place and i cant see it being properly 'sorted out' by anyone. Just too many factors to work against.

@tbilisicentral oh no man lol the british didnt fail sangin in one deployment, the brits were in charge of that place since like 2005 or earlier. They failed completely until 3/7 relieved them. They told us we would fail in sangin and seven days later we killed hundreds of taliban and were scrubbing our balls in the helmand river

Some of our SNCOs and Officers were gone for 2-3 months after our deployment because they went to georgia to help train that army.

What a load of absolute rubbish.

In the first 6 weeks of the Marine deployment they lost 24 men and had 85 wounded. About 15% of the strength, thats more than we lost in an entire tour (6 months). The Americans made the grave error of closing down half of the PBs we had established along the 611 which in turn gave the Taliban far greater freedom of movement and ability to launch attacks.

Any suggestion that the Yanks are doing a better job than us Brits is nonsense.

Your commander told all of us that we would come running back with our tails between your legs and even all the brit royals that were there told us that we would fail even reaching the helmend. We constructed roads and pbs all the way across the helment. It was also during this time that you fucking brits decided start stealing shit and talking shit. You all acted like a bunch of fucking children after we relieved you in sangin. So ya we did better
