@firerock2245 Actually, this film was first done with Chaney in 1925. Then remade in 1929 (All same acting). But this one is lower quallity and seems faster in speed, so this one is the unmasking from 1925. Their right.
Lon Chaney went really hardcore with his makeup! and wussy phantoms today, ....................*cough, dario argento *cough* ............... this version of phantom is one of my favorites..... :)
This scene is so heartbreaking! They first started out as great friends (As she mentions in the book). Then Erik went through all the trouble of giving her voice lessons, which made her a celebrity; He brought her to his home -- all because he loved her. What a shame that she couldn't see past his ugliness.
aww poor guy, u know, his face doesnt lok so bad when he doesnt have his mouth gaping like a dead fish. I bet people wouldnt have been scared of this movie in the 20's if they heard thier voices.
@wolfaz00 ?? you used a double negative... if you meant to say 'christine does not like eric because his face is burned, she should see his sadness and listen to his warning' then she doesn't like him because he is a murdering, kidnapping psycho!
This is one of two versions that are apart of the "Ultimate Edition The Phantom of the Opera" DVD. This score was composed by Carl Davis and the other version, which is from the 1925 New York Preview version, that score is done by Jon Mirasalis.
Of course, if she is told not to touch the mask, of course she starts touching it!

Where is this music from? I have this film on DVD, and the music is different.
Matthew6870 3 years ago
@Matthew6870 The music in this version was written by composer Carl Davis. A much later edition to the original.
