  • and yairoka... a Rick is a unique bass instrument.... and using a pick helps to foster some of that RICK sound! Anyone who is a good enough musician to play a Rick realizes that it's the high harmonics that create the "presence". Bare fingers tend to muddy that sound. Only my opinion, but watch Chris Squire and Getty Lee (first 2 names that come to mind as signature Rick player)

  • @jyuzynko : Ahhh! A true fan of RIC tone! =)

  • This great!!! First of all, it's one of my favorite songs to play along with (and OBS) if I'm in a BASS state of mind. And secondly, I gave my little bro a black 4001 for a graduation present back in the 70's... and he's still playing it!

  • @jyuzynko : That's fantastic!

  • Nice Job! I've never heard this song/ group before.

  • @Haveaday1102 : They were on "album" rock stations primarily.

  • I'm speechless! AMAZING tone from that Ric. Admire everything about this video... the tune, your talent, the mix, all your material for that matter. Well done, and keep 'em comin'!

  • @theomatic : Thanks! =)

  • Your bass playing is definitely on the mark. I love this song. I have not heard in a very long time. I love that you also like Yes. They were the first concert I ever saw back in the 70's. Chris Squire is a fantastic bass player. He really makes the Rickenbacker bass sing. People need to give him more credit when it comes to bass playing.

  • Really amazing, love the tone of that bass, I used to play that model.

    Cheers,

Richard Greene - Fiddler with Seatrain

  • @fiddlethis1 : RICHARD GREENE! How cool is this folks?!!! You were the first fiddler I had ever heard use a wah-wah, and it blew my mind!

Thanks for watching! Long live SEATRAIN!

  • by the way can you make tabs for this please..... i've been itching to learn this song

  • really great cover, i loved seatrain on the festival expresse although i don't understand why they where on the bonus disc. they should have been in the film aswell!

    Peace 'n love from Holland

  • Hi motorpsych0! just found out that you play bass too ;D top notch instrument and playing, greetings from germany :)

  • You are awesome! -would have liked your bass to have been a little louder! :)

  • Thanks, man!

  • Thanks for this one!!

You've done a great job by keeping Seatrain alive... and updated!

  • Thanks, ftiradoospina!

  • thanks for keeping the song alive, but the sound and tone of your bass doesn't fit, sounds like awful 80s funk, redo the tune. it's very painful to hear your bass. the bass really sucks

  • sounds great...keep the Seatrain flame burning! It sure is good to see others loved them too.

    god bless youtube for that.

  • Great oldie but goodie! Seatrain was a Massachusetts band, I have their Marblehead Messenger album on vinyl.

  • Very cool, fflbrgst!

I wish I had the vinyl!!!!

  • Diggin' it. Great song and I have the album. Nicely done.

  • Excellent choice of a tune to play. I'm sure it will introduce many people to Seatrain.

13 Questions is a long lost classic.

    Spot on performance!

  • bass + plectrum = no

it doesn't sound as good as with the fingers :)

  • i don't agree with you... if you play this kind of music with a rickenbacker it surely plays better than with the plectrum... if you play jazz or something else is surely better playing the bass with the fingers

  • you're right

  • Seatrain rules, cool!

  • Hell to the Yeah!

    Thanks for watching, FlyRod!

  • Very nice man, excellent job. That Rickenbacker has the sweetest tone.
