I'm in love with this video. The abortion ending is definitely better, dark but with a certain pathos. The other is thoroughly more bro-ish Cracked humor.
This really is a great song. I actually cringed at the acrobatics with the baby carriage, and the baby's adorable. Especially love the random choir behind Paul towards the end there.
I love it! Saw it at Cracked and looked for it here because of the chat about the alternate ending. The singer has a great voice. The funniest part is the "whiskers sounds like a cat... alakazam-a-kazoo." When can we expect episode 2?
Punchline would've been better if the song was slightly shorter, or it turned out to be a girl with the song starting back up with a baby girl. Even still, damn good video, and surprisingly awesome song. (worth putting on iTunes :P; also, Cracked)
Very funny, I slightly preferred cracked.com's ending because now one of the two major characters in the series is introduced as a baby killer (assuming he doesn't break up with her offscreen) wheras in the cracked.com ending we were just introduced to paul and how cool he is
I've had this song in my head for two days. Thought it was really gimmicky the first time I heard it but the more i hear it the better it is, really good job.
Hahahahaha this ending is so much more depressing than the one you gave Cracked. Your face at the end is the perfect reaction to the news she just gave you, especially after the epic fantasy song. Ahhhh true disappointment... (^_^)
Why is this tagged as comedy? This is disturbing, and I really mean that in the best way. Some of the best literature is disturbing. I'm pro-life, so maybe I'm biased, but I can't see this as being funny at all.
@ChargedEagle Paul Solomon here. First off, thanks for watching! We've had such a wide range of responses to this video. I found it soul-crushing for sure, because as you can see, my soul was pretty...well...crushed. The directors and some of the writers have informed me that they, and many others, viewed it as, yes, a little disturbing, but kinda cathartic-ally funny at the end, perhaps tragi-comic. Yes a pregnancy was aborted, but NOT the child in Paul's fantasy, which he created.
I realize that one's reaction to this is prone to vary dramitically due to political stances on this super charged issue. Seriously, LOVE hearing all feedback.
Also, quick plug: follow me on twitter: @paul_solomon. Tweet me a cool song challenge: song idea, topic, musical style, pretty much anything is fair game. There's a good chance I'll write it, post it on YouTube and credit YOU! One note: I'm taking a break from politically charged topics, so death penalty is out for now.
@Kiezkollege Thanks for checking it out AND for finding us on YouTube. To answer your question, we originally sent Cracked the abortion ending version, and they thought it was too offensive to air. We had shot a few alternate versions and gave them a less dark version, which they did air. We're just happy to be featured on such a cool site.
@paulchroniclesoflove Great, because I found the abortion punchline much funinier on the comments section at Cracked. Having said that, I still found this ending hilarious.
@paulchroniclesoflove Great, because I found the abortion punchline much funnier on the comments section at Cracked. Having said that, I still found this ending hilarious.
@SpyderDragonDude Really? I found the original ending a bit bland, but found this ending soul-crushingly depressing. Issac, pride and joy of the world, isn't just someone else's son, but dead. Plus, the girl's cheery "I took care of it" made me hate her even more than in the Cracked version.
@kvn8907 What helped me cope with that news, after fits of fetal-position crying, was realizing that Isaac wasn't dead, because Isaac never really lived, only in my musical fantasy. Even if she gone through with the pregnancy it could have been a girl, twins, Damien from The Omen, who knows...but not necessarily Isaac.
I do hold out hope for Isaac coming into my life SOMEday. Gotta meet the right girl first, and man am I ever sick of OK Cupid.
@paulchroniclesoflove On further consideration, I realized that at least this meant he could try for another Issac. But I'm still a bit disturbed, not because of the abortion itself (the little guy/girl was just a zygote anyway) but because Kate/Girlfriend is so damn cheery about it, that she just coldheartedly terminated a pregnancy without a word to the father or a hint of remorse. Maybe Paul should get a new girlfriend. I see kitten torture and serial murders in her future.
@paulchroniclesoflove Jesus, one of the editors turned it down? Which one?! Want me to throw a Molotov through the motherfucker's letterbox? I know where they all live and I'm itching for an excuse.
Absolutely hilarious.

Bravo. Your earnest camp makes even the simplicity and predictability work.

An anthemic song and a hilarious video. Move over Tenacious D and step aside Conchords, this is now a one-man show: David DiLoreto's.

Much, much better than the ending on cracked. Well done.

I like this ending better, I don't see why Cracked would say it's too offensive when they got a few offensive thigns themselves.
